The George Theater, home to the A.D. Players, is a large, modern facility that showcases area talent and multiple plays/musicals each year. Located in the Houston Galleria area, the George Theater is convenient to most of the city and is on one of the main streets, making it easy to find.I have been to a few different plays at the George Theater and I continue to come away from the experience impressed even more each time. The theater itself is medium in size with comfortable seating and both a lower level and balcony. Views are good no matter where you sit, since no seat is very far from the stage. The digital sound and stage set up are all excellent and the service is outstanding. All of the personnel make sure that you feel welcome and they go out of their way to help with any questions you might have or any assistance you may need.If you get hungry or thirsty, the George Theater serves drinks and snacks. You are not permitted to bring them into the theater, so be sure to finish them before you make your way to your seat. Another restriction is picture taking. You can’t take pictures during the shows, however you are free to snap a pic or two before the actual show, during intermission, etc.The George Theater is an impressive size from the outside. You really can’t miss the large, stand- alone building. Another plus is the parking- the George Theater has its own parking lot with more than enough spaces for all, and the parking is free! All things considered, the George Theater is a hidden gem in Houston and a place that earns an easy five star rating.

We love The George Theater!!! We ushered on Friday night, we enjoyed the show so very much. Being in the theater again was heartwarming.

Saw the Apollo one man show tonight with a group of friends and my daughter. Impressed by their safety precautions and the show was surprisingly excellent. Even my daughter was impressed.

Saw Neil Simon’s God’s Favorite here this past weekend and we really enjoyed it. Acting was excellent, they did Simon proud. The theater is really nice. We purchased lower level seats toward the back. From what I can tell, there really is not a bad seat in the house. The theater is small enough that the balcony seats look like they would be fine. They also have a snack bar with typical snacks and drinks plus a few quick bite items in the event you don’t have time to eat beforehand.

I just had the privilege of watching Its a Wonderful Life radio play at this theater. It was extremely well done! Everything from the actors to the sound effects to the set design or 100% top-notch! I highly recommend going to this venue.

The A.D. Players is a beautiful event space. All the ushers were friendly and welcoming for the Go DJ Awards. The Valet area I was greeted to friendly smiles and gentlemen opening the door for me. It was a personal touch I enjoyed. It is wheelchair accessible. Valet service in the front! Lights brighten up the building to invite you to come in and have a great time. It was an awesome event and beautiful two story building. Thank you A.D. Players at The George Theatre for having exceptional customer service.

Just saw Miracle on 34th Street, with the family and we all enjoyed the performance. The actors were all amazing, along with staff and facilities.

We went to see Elvis My Way in July 2019. As noted in other reviews, the facility, parking, staff and our show were all excellent. The fact that the theater allows what they called, discreet photography, is the reason for my complaints. With numerous spectators all around us holding up their cameras to record constantly throughout the show (and then text), its impossible not to be distracted and bothered. Perhaps the thinking by allowing discreet use of phones/cameras is to somehow minimize its interference, but the end result is quite the opposite. The only mild policing of camera use was when users were also using the even more obnoxious flash settings on their phones.

Its a Wonderful Life live radio play was a highly engaging and enjoyable event. The actors performances were extraordinary! They kept it playful while never making it feel gamey. Costumes were top notch and the set and sounds were brilliant. With such a glowing review you might think i have a stake it (he must work for AD) or some such...be assured i dont. I am just so happy with the show that i wanted to share...

We thoroughly enjoyed the play. The cast did a great job. The play was funny and the theater was comfortable. You got to see them.

My wife and I had date night here, watching Tuesdays with Maurie. It was wonderful, the venue was easy to find, parking was close by and plentiful, they served food and drinks, and every seat had a great view. It is an intimate place that makes the experience memorable. They also are a great non-profit institution with a mission I support.

A.D. Players Theaters new location and theater is simply a must see! I cant wait for the 2018-2019 season to start! I attended the AD Players gala with a friend. The pieces they performed were incredible. They offer childrens educational classes for the performing arts too. I highly recommend seeing a show at the AD Players Theater!

The George Theater is a beautiful venue - spacious but not overwhelming. The lighting and sets are state of the art. There’s plenty of parking that does not require walking long distances. The production of “God’s Favorite” was very well done. I will definitely be back.

We saw a musician perform at this theater. The acoustics were awesome. The seats were comfortable. The womens bathroom was huge and clean and the parking lot was right next to the theater with plenty of parking spaces. Even though it was quite far from our home, I would go to this theater again for shows.

Always a stellar performance. Beautiful new theater and not a bad seat in the house. More than adequate stalls in the bathrooms...a huge improvement over the old theater.

Very nice new state of the art theatre. The performances generally are very professionally executed from set to closing curtain. Most shows have a religious theme or positive underlying theme. The last performance was an impressive one man performance of the conversion of C. S. Lewis. Would go to every performance if I could!

Great theater. Parking is easy, the facility is beautiful, the acoustics are great and there seems to be no or very few less than desirable seats. My wife and I went to see CS Lewis: The Most Reluctant Convert with some others from our church. The experience was all around great.

This is an intimate cozy theater. Every seat is a great seat. Wonderful, helpful staff who will answer your questions. Great parking, free!

Second time here. Great production. The actors did a great job. Roomy seats with plenty of leg room. Seemed like the sound system was really good. Really good place to see a play. We will return.

Beautiful new structure and playhouse for the this long standing Houston institution. They have come a long way. Seating area compliments stage and sound very well. Beverage concession a bit pricey; however, you can purchase a sippy cup $ to take beverage into theater.

The venue has a nice open space that allows natural light to affuse through it. It was clean and well ventilated.

A. D. Players has a brand new beautiful theater. The technology to run the shows and the atmosphere is very good here. Its definitely a great theater and in a very good location. Ive volunteered for them several times and Ive also seen quite a few shows here with more lined up soon.

The people were courteous, the space large yet intimate, and the production was interesting and intriguing. The seats are comfortable and the audience respectful. The less expensive Tier IV seats have a perfectly good view. It is amazing to see a place like this giving the glory to God. Will definitely come here again.

Saw Tuesdays with Morrie it was very touching and most of us were moved to tears. Great venue and very intimate!

What a wonderful performance of Around the World in 80 Days! The cast had so many witty lines and the sets sparse enough to have the audience see the unbelievable. Trains jumping canyons and rides on an elephant. It kept me laughing the whole time. Catch it or any other performance at the Grace Theater. You will not be disappointed.

New performing arts theater in the Houston area. Very well set up as you feel very close to the action on stage. I would definitely recommend going to an event here if it all possible.

Today I saw Lilies of the Field. It was an excellent production. Set, lighting and cast made the event a perfect way to spend the afternoon.Looking forward to 2018-2019 season.

I have to confess I was a little anxious attending as its a Church based theater but the performance was outstanding and the facility is state of the art. No overbearing religious messages and the quality of the performance was as good as anything you would see downtown for half the price.

Beautiful space! A modern interpretation of the elegant architectural grandeur of traditional theaters. Feels like the old world, but with a certain family intimacy about it.

Went to see The Chronicles of Narnia: The Witch, The Lion, and The Wardrobe. Really nice facility. Clean. No hiccups with our tickets being held at will-call. Ushers were super nice and very helpful with getting everyone seated--we had a party of 6. The decor inside was Christmassy and beautifully done. Really good job on everyones part.

Was given tickets to a show and took my son on a Sunday afternoon. The place was comfortably packed, and a few minutes in I realized why. Acting was great, story well written, and one of the funniest performances I have ever seen. Everyone in the audience was in hysteric fits of laughter. Very good production of “Martin Luther on Trial.” Beautiful theater, professional actors. Enjoyed it.

Their production team has to be one of the more underrated things about this place. Went to see the Freud/Lewis play recently and was blown away by the stage. The seating gets a little rough without intermission, but this seats have been there for a while - its to be expected. I encountered a gentleman that was a little cold at the drink and snack bar. But the play itself made up for it.

I enjoy their plays. They have good moral character.
