Kinda boring for a Saturday night. Drinks were good. Bartenders were nice. Servers at the table were not so great.

Lots of people attend... only thing I didnt like is it was a little unorganized for my party of 15 reservations I made in advance.

We were out visiting and walked up during normal happy hour (5pm ish) and no one acknowledged us, we were the only people standing in line. We asked, were they allowing people to come in and the guys at the door turned away and kept talking. I will never go here again!!!

Poor Management. My daughter booked a section for College Grad night and was told to purchase a bottle. She did. Then, they call back and say you need to purchase 2 bottles we did total of nearly $500. The Manager later informs her that the sections are free for college night. She questioned why she had to purchase 2 bottles. He replied, that he has the right to refuse service and will refund her money. These are TSU students and this was planned in advance. Its their graduation celebration. I truly question the Integrity of this business. Apparently, the Manager doesnt understand customer service. Im truly appalled at such behavior. People celebrate milestones there. What type of person is he to try ruining it.

It was FUN. ️ a SUPER FLAW is my sister had a section for her b-day. They gave IT away because someone else offered more money for HER RESERVED SECTION. THATS BAD BUSINESS. There should be better business etiquette for ALL PATRONS. Also the restroom attendee made sure she kept it sanitized. (A+). One other con was the line process should of been more organized. A lot of skipping going on, which could LEAD to fights and ambulatory services being called out due to the disrespect of others just jumping in front of people who been in line for a long while. Need better parking too the lot I paid $10 for was dirty and muddy in the entry way. I had to cover my heels with Walmart bags to keep mud and dirt off of my feet. This place makes too much money for it not to be a better PAVED WALK WAY. ITS downtown FOR CHRIST SAKES

Visiting from FL and we were celebrating a friends birthday. We were excited to head to the Groove.Location: easy to find , not a lot of parking spaces however so you do have to park and walk. Wasn’t far from our Airbnb in the art district.Service: If I could leave no stars I would. But I’m giving 2 stars for venue and music. The service was terrible. We purchased a table and waited 1 hour patiently , the 2nd hour no one still came to serve us. we hah to find management to serve us . They gave us the wrong food orders and no one ever came to check on us. After we got management we finally received our bottles and a complimentary one. They came to clean the area faster than they came to serve us. It was a waste of our time and money tbh. We ended up leaving and going to a different venue.Music: They most played hip hop , rap, old school.Venue: large venue. Great see you and spacious.Overall: worse customer service ever for paying consumers, the DJ was great and the venue was nice.

Grooves is a nice Friday spot. The food is good and the crowd is usually nice but the DJ plays the OLDEST music selection and it throws off the whole vibe! There is entirely too much new music for the majority of the music selection to be from the 2000’s. Pretty annoying. A few oldies is good but come on now...“hit the Quan”? It’s 2020! Only giving 2 stars because of the DJ.

Grooves was once a very nice adult spot with an amazing happy hour. You could expect a nice after work environment before. Lawyers, doctors, teachers, etc...They’ve since changed the demographic for the college crowd. There’s nothing wrong with that, it’s just not the same as it used to be. Regardless, you can still have a good time as long as you know what you’re walking into.The drinks are still cheap (Friday’s have $.75 drinks) but very potent. The food is ok. I’d never say that I’m going to Grooves to be fed fine dining but with the alcohol flowing they have options to help soak it all up.All in all Grooves provides a decent experience. You can either make it a movie or you can get there early and beat the crowd.

Happy hour is the bomb

Grooves has been a Houston staple of entertainment for some time now! Went there for the silent headphone party and had a blast! Expect a younger crowd when you go! Hip-hop and R&B music! Also expect to have a great time! You definitely wanna get pre-lit, drinks are pricey!!!

They have remodeled since the last time I visited a few years ago and it looks really. Nice music. Bottle service recommended.

Turns in to Light central on Sunday, at 1:30. This an an amazing time of worship and praise. Come visit we promise it wont disappoint.

Attended a comedy show here and it was nice. My 1st time here. After the show they transformed the seating into a night club. The food was good however it took way to long to come out. Each of our orders came out 15 to almost 20 mins apart. Maybe it was an off night for the servers/kitchen, however I didnt like having such a long wait. Ill try them again (hopefully food service is better).

Nice vibe for the mature adult age group (25-45). DJ is good, venue is spacious & clean, sections available, good drinks, & its nice to see how well put together the waitresses are-- dressed in matching appropriate club uniforms. The only downfall is the PARKING! Valet is a plus, but the self-parking areas for $20 is complete foolery!

I got a section from them for New Year’s eve going into New Year’s day. When we first arrived they weren’t “ready” because the staff was unsure what to do next. We were told they just had finished a comedy show. Then finally we were directed to an entrance for the VIP section that we reserved. Next, I paid for the section ($850) and 4 extra “VIP” wrist bands for $300. We went to our section and was promised that we would have our bottles by 12:00 because obviously it’s New Year’s eve and you want to be drinking before the clock strikes 12. Never happened! We got our bottles AFTER 12:30AM & the club was not even packed. We were also told ALL night that we would be getting our wrist bands so that we can enjoy the buffet that opened at 12AM. Again.... never happened. Moreover, with the “VIP” wristbands, we were told that they came with 3 drinks —per wristband— from the bar, but guess what? Couldn’t get those either because we had no wristbands. Night was over so quick because the club turned on the lights and were over by 1:30AM. So imagine paying $1150 for a section and 4 wristbands to be waiting until the club was “ready,” not receiving any food because we didn’t have any wristbands and also no extra drinks from the bar because we weren’t served correctly. It was a horrible night and I’ll never recommend this to ANYONE. Martha was very helpful in the beginning but other staff still lacked. I wish I never spent a dime in this establishment.

Maybe it was just the night we attended but there was NOBODY in the club on Saturday night.Still had a nice time. Good Dj and our waitress was dope.

This place is so fun. I went to the silent dance party and it was an incredibly unique experience. I would recommend going early because the place gets super packed past midnight.

I can only vouch for Friday happy hour, but this place has become a staple for us for birthday celebrations and Friday night relaxation. The banging food and DJ Energizer will have you right on a Friday night for sure. Get there early because it gets packed around 9.

Went for a birthday party for a friend, and had to buy a ticket for a lame comedy show because I was early. I have never been to the establishment before, wont ever go back. Also had to pay $20 for parking in addition to the $25 for a comedy of people I have never heard of in life. The only upside was the DJ.

Friday Happy Hour is AMAZING! Dont overdue it on the $0.75 drinks though. Food is decent. Music is great. The crowd is awesome too. Sometimes the food takes a bit longer when the crowd is large.

Im too old for this place. I grew up on mid 80s to early 2000s music. Just not for me. Good customer service however and tasty vegan burger.

Our go to place for Friday nights. I believe happy hour starts at 5 and ends at 9. We always get the 75 cent drinks. Their food is sooo good. We get the plater of wings or catfish and fries. ..... or maaaaybe both.The dj is always on point and you and your friends will have a great time. There are really no places to sit unless you have a section or get lucky like me. . and find a table someone is leaving.There are also TVs so you won’t miss your sports game. Parking is easy.

It was cool and fun. Drinks are fairly priced but not really the bottles. But if youre willing to buy a bottle at the club, better be willing to spend!

Grooves of always a good time. Drinks are reasonable and there is a healthy mix of ratchet, classy and hood. Its where you go if you pull up to your job blasting ratchet music but change your voice during work calls.

The worst service EVER. Ordered 5 chicken wings and mozzarella sticks & waited 4 hours for my food and told them multiple times about it for them to say they are sorry they(manager) don’t know what happened and gave me a refund. Also the worst/rudest security guards ever! I will NEVER come back.

I love their happy hours on Friday they have $0.75 drinks and shots and some awesome lemon pepper wings I just found out they have some pretty good brunch. I recommend the red velvet waffles and wings. Their regular drinks are much stronger compared to their week mimosas.

Wonderful club! Happy hour from 4-9 p.m. relaxed atmosphere. Great vibe, delicious food, and speedy bottle services. Unfortunately, for those who like to wear sneakers to the club they charge $20 after 9 if you arent already in.

Had a great time for my birthday! 4 stars because my section wasnt ready when I arrived, and my window was smashed by a homeless guy in valet. Luckily I was parked in valet because the company came out to my home and replaced it.

I went to this place for a couple of reasons... They have the well experience with the Lighthouse church on Sundays at 1:30. And on a Saturday night, after going to church there, I went to celebrate a cousins birthday... The age ranges from early 20s to late 30s, patrons dressed nicely, and the music was awesome!

The dance floor is awesome. Too bad there wasnt a lot of dancing taking place on it though.

Enjoy going to this Night Club. Had a party here recently and really enjoyed it. Great music although it can get a little crowded at times. We had purchased a VIP Section it was nice and came with a Bottle of our choice. As well they have Hookahs you can rent which makes for a great time. A little on the expensive side but free on Fridays to get in on normal nights free before like 10 and $20 after. No Dress Code for Ladies, but Dress code for guys is enforced or they will up charge you to get in. A little on the up scale newer generation side Hip Hop & R&B Side. Drinks are pretty good as well.

Dress code strictly enforced. They will NOT let you in if you dont adhere to it. They should put that on the website.

Visited while on Vacation in Htown. Grooves had a nice vibe. Plenty of room so I didnt feel squashed. Food was ok!

The Friday happy hour is great. It goes till about 9pm. Everything was expensive after. The crowd after happy hour that was not my taste.

Even though I had my card swiped for 500+ that I didnt spend! If youre looking for ladies and the best drink deals in Houston, this is a good place to start!

The Certified Funny Saturdays show featuring Marvin Hunter was definitely a great experience. The food was good and the drinks were on point. B Smooth does a great job putting these shows together. I hadnt been to Grooves of Houston in years but I may have to put them back on my list of spots for the grown and sexy! Thanks B Smooth!

Best place to go on Friday nights. Great music and the vibe was cool. This happy hour time is a lil hectic, but afterwards everytime was good. I would definitely recommend because its free to get in for everyone & YES LADIES U CAN WEAR SANDALS as long as they have straps

Malik was funny and deserve 5 stars. Grooves deserve 0 stars. I wish I could put 2.5 stars but I can’t. So here goes...it took the waitress 1 hour to come to our table. It took an additional 30 minutes for the waitress to come back only to tell us the waitresses switched sides of the club. It took an additional 30 minutes for the new waitress to come to our table. She took our drink orders and never returned. The kitchen waitress had to bring our drinks. Then gratuity was added to our tab when the menu clearly says gratuity is added to tables or 6 or more. I had a party of two. Management claimed gratuity is added to drink orders but that isn’t posted anywhere in the club. Grooves decided to capitalize off the comedy show by not offering happy hour prices. I won’t return.

Decent place went there for a friend birthday party. Although this is not my type of crowd because it seems like a lot of kids , I’m in my thirty’s but I prefer a more 30 & up type of environment.

Grooves of Houston is a very cool place.They have an awesome happy hour on Fridays. With amazing drink specials. Its nice and roomy inside, very trendy décor.The one downfall that they have is that they charge an insane amount of money to reserve seating. If you do not get there really early, and I mean really early. You will be standing the entire night! If they would do better on their seating and reservation requirements it would definitely be a place to visit at all times.But because of the limited seating I will not be visiting that place in a more.

Music was pretty decent for dancing. Theres usually an Eventbrite page that allows for free entry. Drink prices were pretty high, but they werent skimpy with alcohol.

The food was average at best. The place was not lively at all. The live music and dj appeared after 11:00, which is too long in my opinion to have patrons sitting around listening to a music player. That can be done at home.

The service is amazing being how busy it is! I never wait on a drink. Love all of the bartenders! Very well run establishment. I especially love happy hour and Friday nights. The music is always fitting for the mood and crowd.

This is my GO-TO spot! Grooves has always offered excellent customer service, great atmosphere, and awesome vibes for me and my friends. The Happy Hour is literally the BEST in Houston!! Where else in the urban nightlife could you get half off appetizers with .75 shots on a Friday after work?! When me and my friends are looking for a Friday night out we always give Grooves a call and make a reservation! Love this place ;)

Horrible staff, table and menus not ready. Menu was only 1/2 page, and very limited for brunch. Required reservations was a joke, still had to wait 30 minutes for them to setup. We left, but returned for the Comedy show at 8pm. Show was cancelled without any notice. Still havent gotten a refund. Terrible business ethics, dont waste your time.

Someone ran into the building, while I stood in line. The Dj I did not care for as much tonight. I usually have a great experience but tonight was slight different. This was my 3 visit with multiple friends. Pro they were enforcing dress code.

Last night, my cousins and I wanted to go out to Grooves. When we got there at 11:37, NO ONE was in the club and the “manager” was sitting at the booth and told us it was $20 to get in. My cousin asked him why because no one was in there? He then responded that we didn’t have to be there and we could leave. So we left. He was very unprofessional and rude. That is not how a business should be run. No matter the circumstances. Customer service should be a priority.

Very laid back and cool DJ even though he got a little too carried away with R&B from the 90s. Drinks on point. Went for a Bachelorette party and had a good time.

The Comedy show was awesome. The food was delicious. The parking was $20 I thought this was a bit much.

My review is only based upon a Friday evening happy hour. The place is a good size, music was good, mature crowd, and food and drinks were reasonably priced AND good. My only complaints would be VERY limited seating, female bartender was very short and not very attentive, and they held more funds on my bank account than I had actually spent. It cleared correctly, however.Overall a nice spot to experience!

Cool vibes, but very loud. Not a good place to hold conversation the food was OK. Happy hour specials are really good though. Def worth a stop on your weekend shenanigans.
