I definitely liked looking in and around this structure. Its a New England church in a tropical setting. Coral stones uniquely make up the building blocks. Flowers adorn the pews in the airy sanctuary. A princely chapel is out front. A discrete fountain on the side. A hauntingly picturesque cemetery hides in the back under the trees.

The church is not air conditioned but boy can they host a great sermon, a few years back my family took a cruise and visited the church for the Christmas service. The intro with the brass and the hula dancers were amazing. The pastor was really amazing and the live band was amazing, if your just stopping by it live in Honolulu I would definitely recommend this church.

While I do not support the message that missionaries brought over here, I wont deny the beauty and history that this place has

We went to church here to hear our daughter sing with Honor Choir USA. The people who go to this church are amazing. They are welcoming and very sweet. The church service was very different from what we are used to and not just because half of it was in Hawaiian. I really enjoyed the service and getting to know some of the people there. We were also blessed with a song while we were waiting for the service to start by an amazing lady who was a famous Hula dancer and singer. When we go back to the island of Oahu we will go back again. Be warned though there is no A/C take a hand fan.

Theres not a ton to do here, but if youre like me and churches are always on your list of stops when visiting a new city, this one is a must. If the doors are open, you can go in. When I was there, a lecture was going on, but I was still able to peek inside. The inside of the church is pretty standard, but the outside is where the history comes in. The fact that all the brick were cut from coral is simply amazing. Its a great slice of Hawaiian history.

Not a lot going on the day we were here. It was part of a scavenger hunt. I’m sure it has a ton of rich history but I’d rather be exploring the beach or diamond head.

My kupuna have been members since the 1800s and are buried here. Its a beautiful stone church with a lot of mana throughout the grounds. Unfortunately, lots of headstones have been lost to time-of the approximately 2500 only about 600 headstones remain and records are long gone. Still the grounds are beautiful and peaceful, an oasis in downtown Honolulu.

The church itself is simply but beautifully designed, the organist is exceptional, and the service was thoughtful without being boring or judgemental. The friendliness and the spirit of the Hawaiian culture is exemplified here, and having been raised in a Catholic household as an agnostic, the people of this church set a pretty high bar for what a community should arrive for.

Made us feel confortable and safe while worshipping god. We had a bad experience with a past church called the honolulu church of christ on keeaumoku street they lied to us multiple times, and had old men trying to date our underage daughter, and were violent and dishonest when it came time to collecting our money and using for the wrong reasons.we are happy we found a decent ohana on the island.
