Waikiki Beach is an absolutely great beach for everyone. I consider Waikiki beach the ambassador beach. It has all you need for a great day at the beach. The sand is nice and very fine. The water has the ability to kick up some small surf but has always been an ideal for kids or new swimmers. Life guards are in every direction. Along the street (strip) there are tons of great attractions and amenities (free public restrooms, outstanding eateries, and plenty of activities to make your outing as safe and as memorable as possible. This is one of the most popular beaches on the strip. The amount of people that accumulate at one time is the one and only reason Waikiki beach isnt considered perfect.

ALWAYS turtles there midday. You just have to keep your eye out for their heads popping up. Easiest to catch a glimpse when you’re on a paddle board. The sand and rough and the water isn’t very clear but overall great local beach. Nice reef/wave wall with pretty fishes too, bring a snorkel mask if possible.

This beach is wonderful and it’s definitely a great stop.Parking is extremely tight so visit early in the morningto have a chance at finding parking.

It was wow. The turquoise waters are so beautiful. I enjoyed jumping with the waves it was great. We enjoyed a lot of our stay in Hawaii here. The sand is amazing too. It is great scenery. Although, it can get a bit crowded here. There are some rocks and corals here in places. So I recommend water shoes. There is a good lot of fish here so you can snorkel. I really liked this place and I hope to come back here soon. It is really breathtaking. ️️️

The sand area of the beach is a bit narrow and the waters not crystal clear, but during the pandemic there were only a modest number of people here and it was very relaxing.

The beaches are ok as long as the tourists take care of them. It is very rocky in the water and hard to walk in. Otherwise beautiful.

What an absolute stunning beach, this must be one of the most beautiful and warm watered beaches I have ever gone too. If your ever in Hawaii this is something everyone should do, just swim in the waters, take in the sunset and just bask in the beauty of this most fantastic location. What an amazing place! Changing locations and bars plentiful nearby.

Nice beach for tourists with calm waters to relax in. Can get crowded, it was nice for a day the remaining days were spent on other beaches that were more secluded and private.

I really like it. Its not that buzzy makes it quiet & relaxing for use native its been a long time since Ive seen it look like this.

While I prefer a little less people than the way Waikiki Beach is packed on the typical day, you cant beat Waikiki Beach for the weather, the ambiance, and access to some great places along its great length.

The beach was over crowded, but the sand was soft and had nice views. Not a real relaxing, tropical island vibe. Its super touristy. Nice place to swim, but arrive early. They also have surf boarding / rentals.The beach itself is really beautiful!Beach umbrella/lounger sets for rent $60 a full day, $40 for 4 hours, there are shorter options as well.Beach chair rentals are $10 for a full day and go down from there for hourly options.

Ive seen Waikiki beach countless times on TV and never imagined that one day Id come here. I saved up many years, and decided to bring my parents here for their special anniversary. When we got here, all our troubles were away, just look how beautiful and peaceful this beach is.

Waves, a place to sit in the shade, plenty of water and nice shower to get the sand and salt off. Big waves a little much even on a mildly windy day. Plenty of beach to share and the wondering chickens add to the experience. Must try the fresh pineapple drink at the stand. Sweet Nectar. Loved it.

Who doesnt really enjoy at least one day on Waikiki Beach? Yes, it can be crowded; but there is an energy there that is addictive. Its a good introduction to Oahu. Then you can get away and explore more remote beaches.

Great beach, rent and umbrella and it’s happy days. The tide tends to come up quite high so if you’re there for a while, be sure to put your belongings up on a chair so they don’t get wet!

Since everyone is quarantined at home, Waikiki Beach is so peaceful and quiet like a ghost town.

Best beach in Hawaii!! Waikiki beach is gorgeous. The sand is perfect, the water is great and the view of diamond head and all of the surrounding hotels is amazing.Its rare that the best beach is right in the city, but this was my favorite - we were in Hawaii for 10 days and went here 3 times

Absolutely beautiful and a must see. The beach gets very crowded and the surf can be rough at some parts. So be careful and be prepared to be surrounded by tourists taking surf lessons. There are all sorts of places you can surf or take the outrigger canoes.

Stayed at the Waikiki Outrigger Reef Beach Resort. Right on one of the Worlds most famous beaches. The beach vendors were awesome and very quick to answer our questions. Fireworks every Friday night!

Beautiful water and nice ambience. Sure, there are a lot of people, but that’s to be expected. There are plenty shops and food around. You can walk the beach front and stop in and out of most of the fancy hotels, even in beach attire. I really liked how chill the atmosphere was and it’s a really fun spot to spend the day. I would suggest booking a hotel that has free beach gear because renting chairs and umbrella on the beach gets very pricey.

Nice beach, but its the water here that is the star of the show. Ive never seen color like it - the temperature is just perfect.

While I didnt get to kick back and enjoy the sun, this beach was still a cool place to check out as a quick pit stop on a long layover. The surrounding shops were interesting and there seemed to be plenty to do. A bit crowded for my taste though if I were to be there all day.

We loved it here! It was so close to the beach, there were tons of new and interesting places to eat, there was so much to do just saying the area, and plenty of tour companies willing to take you elsewhere as well if you wanted to go across the island. Waikiki felt awesome with everything that it had to offer.

The water was crystal clear and beautiful. It wasn’t that crowded, either. And the waves were occasionally so strong they could knock you off your feet, but you didn’t have to go far to get them, so it was pretty safe. I absolutely loved it, and would recommend it if you were to stop in Honolulu.

Good spot for people learning to surf or to just swim in the shallow waters. Very very very crowded though, which explains the 4 stars. Near a lot of shopping areas.

Due to erosion, the sand has to be imported and is not very deep, and the beach is very narrow and too busy. it is worth it because of the atmosphere, but as a beach, its not worth the fame

I know this beach is iconic, but it is not for me. It feels like something to do to say you did it, but not something you want to do. The beach is super, super crowded right next to a super busy road. It does not provide the peace and tranquility I look for from the beach. I found myself more stressed than relaxed. All that said, it is beautiful, and it has a beautiful back drop with the mountain right next to it.

Was wary of coming here, because I heard about how crowded it can get, but despite that I would 100% recommend it. The water is so beautiful, sandy and not very deep. Sometimes you can spot fishes as well.I would suggest coming later in the afternoon as the crowds begin to disappear. Stay for the sunset as it is very beautiful. One of the best and least crowded spots to view the sunset is from the water.

This is truly a beautiful beach with warm, turquoise water, but I cant say its one of my favorite beaches because its so crowded. Even so, its still a beach Id recommend seeing. Especially if youre staying in the area, its a very convenient beach to visit, but we decided to drive to explore other beaches around the island.

What else can I say but still one of the best beaches in the world!! I grew up on this beach from bodyboarding at walls as a child; to surfing at publics, kaisers, and bowls as a teen; to longboarding at queens, canoes, and pops as an adult. I worked on this beach as a beachboy in my youth and now I enjoy bringing my kids to this beach to share all that I have learned with them. This beach has everything that you could ever want want right at its fingertips.. from bodyboarding to surfing to longboarding to snorkeling to diving to swimming to floating to just laying out in the sun. And when you get hungry or thirsty, theres a hundred places to choose from right there. Theres literally something for everyone here at Waikiki beach.

Nice beach with beautiful water and impressive big waves, also a good spot to watch surfers. Of course its very crowded, but you have to be there once if on Oahu. In my opinion, compared to other beaches on the Hawaiian Islands this one isnt the most beautiful nor best place to hang out as there are so much people and the big buildings in the background dont provide the prettiest backdrop, but if you want to watch surfers its the place to go. Wouldnt go for a swim or chill in the sand though as its just too crowded for my liking.

Love this beach, yes it is a tourist attraction, but its beautiful.

The sun is beautiful here. My only note is that the sand is pretty obviously shipped to the location and sitting on top of cement due to its coarseness

Overrated? Nope. This beach here is awesome. Big waves and lots of fun, water looks unreal, and the landscape is stunning. Got there on a Saturday morning in October and it was not too crowded.

Short on sand, but lots of people. View is just ok. Go just to say you have been. Then find one of the better beaches in Oahu. There are some spectacular ones that you can go to.
