Love visiting. Nice trails, plenty of room for Covid times, historical markers for those of us interested in history. Great place to bring the family if you are looking to get outside. This time I walked down to the pond which was a nice walk.

With so many trails, you can walk for hours. but if youre short on time, you can pick a short trail and a loop which might get you a 45 minutes to an hour. When the leaves fall, you really do have to look for an existing packed down path as there are no markers on direction to follow. Following walls in some areas is your best way to know youre on track.

No matter what time of year I come here, it is always beautiful! With the draught, the swampy area where the herons nest in the spring is lower than Ive ever seen it.

Lovely open fields, easy forest trails, a flea market style display of historical, vintage and miscellaneous tools in Gould house (limited hours, donations accepted). The blight resistant chestnut trees planted near the Gould house along the open fields trail are pretty awesome too, especially in fall when the chestnuts are getting big, hairy and ripening!

A beautiful hike filled with pre-American Revolution history. If you are fortunate enough to be there at the same time as the care-taker you can explore the one house thats still standing from the original town and has been filled with antiques. The care-taker is also a wealth of knowledge.

Very nice trail network with open fields and some interesting history. Parking onsite and easy access from the highway. Trail maps and historic information available at the property on site. Great place to explore for all ages. Trails are not difficult, but allow nice views of the abandoned village and surrounding wetlands. True hidden gem!

Nice place to get a hint of the life in the past without it feeling over done. Very relaxing trials with interesting nature, some of the growth on the rocks must date back quite far. The fields are large and can really make you feel like you live in that time period.

A quiet place where you can hike or just sit and enjoy the beauty of nature that surrounds you. There are historical sites to behold and read of giving some attention to the community that once inhabited the area.Dogs are welcome to responsible pet owners. A very lovely experience to enjoy in every season.

An interesting walk in the woods of a deserted town that once existed from 1737-1770, between Hollis NH and Milford NH. Some foundations of buildings that once stood here can still be seen. There is a small restored building that houses artifacts from a by-gone era. It still remains a puzzle why this settlement has been abandoned.

I saw Monsoon Center and thought I was gonna enjoy feeling the full power of a monsoon straight in my face. However when I actually got here there was little to offer in hopes of a monsoon. I mean there is only a run down village here. Maybe it shows the aftermath of a monsoon. However either way it was very disappointing. But there was several doggos here and they were very nice. So I will rate 2 star for the doggos.

Every May/June there is a set of Blue Heron nests in Monson pond. With binoculars or a telephoto lens you can watch the chicks mature. We go there 4-6 times to see their progress and watch as they tentatively flap their wings testing.
