I bought tickets online in advance so my friends and I could use the lake and this was my first time going. We get there and find out they had Cyanobacteria at their location. Other people were in the water with their children so we figured we would go in the water but not dunk our heads. Few hours in we had snacks and forgot to sanitize our hands. 3 hours later two friends had some bad G.I reactions to the water. I found out from a friend who lived in NH that this lake has been like this for years. If this is the case something needs to be done and also there should be a warning on the website for this location. So we aren’t mad people got it because we went in at our our risks, but it would be nice for the website to notify people in advance. Other than that the view is nice and the store is helpful.

Great local state park minutes from the NH state line. The water is surprisingly warm! Great place for a family event, with picnic tables and BBQ along with sandy Beach side. Definitely would visit again.

Parking was across the street and on a fairly busy main road. Offered flush toilets(open) and a changing room (closed for some reason). Saw the staff clean at least 3x while we were there.Lake was nice full of vines and leafy plants. Other visitors were friendly. I probably wouldnt rush back

The lake is fairly small but it does have bathrooms and cost $4 per adult with a very large parking area. There are plenty of picnic tables and grills so you can spend the day here with your family and cook yourself a nice lunch. The water is fairly clean as a typical lake would be. The help is good. The water is very shallow good for small children. You can haveshade if you want it as youre very close to the tree line and you can sit in the sand or you can sit in the grass.

A lovely family friendly park. Beautiful, has picnic tables and charcoal grills for guests to use. Some nice park benches to sit and enjoy the water. I dont believe I noticed any lifeguards but they have a large roped in spot. People also live around the lake and I dont think motor boats are allowed. Nice place for a family gathering.

We loved the park visit with our infant son, it was well maintained and people are maintaining social distancing in the age of Corona but hardly anyone was wearing masks.

No website warning about the cyanobacteria! Try explaining to the kids they cant go in the water when its 80 degrees! Also, people left trash behind! What happened to carry in-carry out!

The website allowed for reservations. Upon arrival there was a swimming advisory indicating the water was not suitable to swim in. I think they should of posted this on the website so we didnt waste a trip to this lake. Very disappointed!

Silver Lake State Park. It used to be a really beautiful Park. Now that the Spanish people from Massachusetts come up and use it the place is trashed. Just recently there was a brawl between the Spanish people in the park. They came up here and they ruined what was beautiful. I dont bring my children there anymore.

First time geeting there, i did call the day before and when i get there with my family, cant swim because of bacteria, nobody inform me about it when call, even did the search online in the web and nothing about it. I was ok staying without swimming but at the main entrance they were only allowing by reservation and it wasnt even a hollyday and i wasnt told when i did call the day before. Ultra low lack of information.

Silver Lake in Hollis is a good location for several small towns to utilize. Good play area picnic and grill. During season, lifeguard, restrooms changing and showers on hand, for a state park fee. ALOT of parking across the road. Its a good angle to the wind so the water keeps moving. And no resident geese to fowl the shore this year. The water is shallow, an easy swim and very safe Sandy bottom. This time of year, has direct access to park trail system clearly marked. Quicker than a long drive to beach.

I grew up learning to swim in this lake. Frequently what happens is the tourists that come from out of state relieve themselves in the water and it becomes contaminated with ecoli. If you want to swim it, go early in the summer or late in the spring around opening time. This lake has a plethora of trails that will take you to other scenic parts of Hollis.

Kinda like it.. I would give this place 3.5 star.. After reading these reviews was expecting to see something awful.. But not too bad.. there is big parking lot opposite to the park entrance. This park has clean toilets and change rooms.. Water was clean enough but not as clean as some lakes to the North + tadpolesAs long as people.. No problems at all.. I was here with my 2.5 years daughter we have a nice picnic.. no smokers.. the beach was clean + park stuff was cleaning area constantly.. a lot of kids with parents... Children playground: swings + slideOverall not bad for a park that is in 30+ minutes from home..

Went off-season before the cold became unbearable. The lot was almost empty--being off-season and all. Theres a little box thingy to put money in...but no indicator of how much you should contribute. It was very tranquil. Well-kept...but the restrooms are closed during the off-season.

The park is not big, but is beautiful for small groups and if you are nearby. Is not recommended for tourists or to do trekking. The lake is not deep at all, so is safe for small kids, there are grills and a lot of wood, lifeguard is always on watch, some sand, kayaks, bathrooms and a little refresments stand. It is not a MUST stop, it really is a place to go if you are staying near, but is not worth the drive...

Lake was infected with high levels of bacteria. And my boyfriend and I were unable to swim in it. We discovered this after paying the fee. The lake should have been closed to the public. According to a resident this has been the case since she was a child as in it happens so often shes 70 now so its ridiculous the place hasnt beencondemned or abandoned. Such a bummer too it has a lot of parking and good seating areas, but I rather go somewhere safe. CLOSE THE LAKE.

This is a nice place to bring the family except the water is really dirty not trash floating around dirty but loaded with bacteria and all sorts of germs dirty. When we went a bunch of the locals were telling us which places to avoid because of how dirty certain areas are. And this lake has also been shut down to the public multiple times in the past due to high germ levels. Both our kids got sick a couple days after we went here. Another complaint I have is that there us signs saying they have lifeguards on duty however we did not see any life guards any where except hanging out in the little store they have there. There is no way they would be able to see the lake from where they were hanging out.
