This nature park/trail has a new area on the opposite side of the road. You still park in the same lot, but the new trails are paved, and there are crosswalks to get over to the new are.Its great for walkers, bicyclists, skates, etc. It is nice and wide for social distancing.Very impressed with the original park, and the extention.

Nice little park. Has some great views of the gulf. You can follow the trails to a little boardwalk that crosses into anclote park where you can walk to the pier and fish. There is also little places off the trails where you can stop and fish. A great place to bring your dog for a nice walk. The trails are pretty easy however a lot of it is sand so if you have difficulties walking in sand then it might be a little bit harder.

Best of Port Richey area. Nice trail. When you get to the small beach on the gulf, youll see lots of fish jumping, crabs running around, and dolphins swimming by only 50 feet off shore!

This is a great park! Beautiful scenery. Easy parking. Not crowded. The main trails are wide enough for several people to walk side by side. Everyone we met was friendly. The beach is small but fantastic! Parents be prepared- theres no where to wash off the sand. Made for a gritty ride home. Not sure if theres a changing table in the restroom. Cant wait to go back and check out the tower!

This is a lovely park. I live on other side of Pasco County but visited here since it was one of few parks open the end of April. We saw several Osprey in nests with babies, lots of fish and crabs in waterways , songbirds in trees and gopher tortoise. The beach area along the Gulf was lovely also. We also loved the view from the big tower along the beach area. I will definitely go back here again, pretty, free park!!

My favorite place! Beautiful trails that lead to a beach. Observation tower to view the Anclote River and out to the gulf. Never fails to impress with views of multiple creatures in their natural habitat. All in 1 day saw a seahorse, starfish, horseshoe crab, tortoise and a large osprey nest with multiple osprey and pelicans. On another outing saw a bald eagle right on the beach! Fiddler crabs by the 100s along with mussels and other crabs. And its dog friendly! My favorite place to watch the gorgeous sunsets. A little piece of Pasco county Paradise!

Perfect doggy day trip. I owe my visit to discovering this location on Yelp. There are only a few beach front locations that dogs are welcome and this is one of them. Key Vista has a smaller sized parking area that could probably accommodate two dozen automobiles. There are a couple of different entrances into the park. On the North side of the park is where the water inlets, beaches, and observation tower are located. Holidays hidden gem indeed !!

Great place to walk the dog! Loved the little beach areas—found a nice private spot to throw the ball without disturbing anyone. It’s a very beautiful park that’s never crowded. There’s several Geocaches hidden throughout the park as well as an observation tower that overlooks the Gulf. Bathrooms are clean but only located near the parking lot so make sure you go before if you’re planning on staying a while. My only complaint would be the complete lack of shade. When I visited less than a year ago, there were a ton of trees that covered most of the trail to the water—now it looks like they cut most of them down (and left them there).

There are several county parks in the area of Key Vista. Each one offers bird trails and old Florida landscapes with shorelines. A very beautiful way to spend an afternoon. Pack a lunch so you dont have to leave if you get hungry.

Great place to take a walk if you love nature. The trails lead to a beautiful sandy waterfront with breathtaking views. There is a nice short boardwalk that will lead to a playground and the fishing pier at the next park over. This is one of my favorite places to go in Pasco county for nature trails.

It definitely has its positives: you can access water in a few places that is great for fishing and/or letting your dog swim/play, however, this isnt beach like. More marshy than sandy. It has a huge wooden lookout tower so you can look out over the water or watch the sunset. It has benches throughout the trail but the trail itself isnt the greatest... and thats where everything starts to become more of a negative than positive. The trail itself is a dirt/sand trail and has a ton of ants that run throughout it (wear proper shoes). You can see where they cut down trees and just left them. The bugs are pretty intense along the trail, I left with a ton of mosquito and ant bites(wear bug spray). Besides that, my husband and I walked the entire trail and enjoyed the water.. we have just been to better.

Great place to walk your dogs-although it may not be the perfect beach day spot because the sand is quite squishy. There is lots of cool wildlife to see if you dont mind, though! There is a small rinsing station, too which is helpful after your feet are wet and walking through sand. Overall great place.

Review №71

This is a dirt/sand trail park on the water. It is dog friendly. There are small beach areas here and there. Its not the beach you think of when thinking of the beach. Its what I refer to as mash potato sand. Its the wet sloppy sand found in marshes. That never really dries out because its constantly wet and has a layer of algae under it.There is lots of brush here. So dress accordingly and use bug spray on your legs.It was great for taking the dogs for a walk and getting them in the water since there are not that many dog beaches, if any up this way on the Gulf.If you wanted to launch a kayak it would be easy here. Although you have to walk about 90 or 100 steps until you could put it in the water.
