Rating is based on the value of the course. Greens are in pretty good shape...fairways are a little spotty (compared to last time played about 5 years ago). $44 for 18 with a cart is a deal. Staff were nice and good grilled hot dogs at the turn. Not gonna be as harsh as recent posts.

More challenging course than some others in the area but still fun and the staff was very nice.

Worst experiences golfing lve ever had. I wouldnt golf at this dog place again if l was paid. They are completely fine with groups playing at a 6 hour pace... And this isnt just a one time fluke. The Ranger is about as useful as a screen door on a submarine, refusing to do anything other than existing and collecting a paycheck. I just wish there was a way to give less than 1 star because this place is insulting to 1 star ratings everywhere

Course was very nice. Pretty challenging with a lot of different hazards on almost every hole. Club selection is key.I had a good time, but the pace of play was BRUTAL. Took almost 6 hours, yes six, to complete 18 holes. Unlike anything else Ive ever seen. Not sure if they overbooked the tee sheet or what, but a 15 minute wait in between every hole is what Im going to remember about this course.Price was good for the value at around $46, but cant get over the pace of play. Probably wont be back for a while because of it.

Played on Sunday morning, started right on time, pace of play solid, and beverage cart showed up frequently. However outside the greens which were in very good shape the course conditioning and maintenance level was not good at all. Many fairways patchy / rock hard in number of spots, broken tees littering the tee boxes, weeds all over steps up to tees, etc. Certainly playable but not in great shape,

Course was a little dry, but not surprising after no rain for a month. Overall, well run. Especially on a holiday weekend.

Course in horrible shape. Dont think they know what a.sprinkler is. Id call it a cow pasture, but that would be in insult to the cow pastures across America.

Got to the first hole 10 minutes early and waited in line only for them to tell us we have to skip two holes ahead. The greens and fairways were awful with divots and dead grass everywhere. Wouldn’t come back

The greens are the challenge here... tough to read...undulating....recommend playing the blues....tips....6400....tree lined but not super tight....nice to see a range as well...very friendly staff....can get busy but also some great deals....enjoyable track...

Excellent layout - early Robert Trent Jones. Jammed in between residential, commercial, and I-90, it is still worth playing. Food and drink excellent both on and off course.

Great deal for a challenging day of golf. Green are in great shape. Run around 10.5 to 11.0. Price is right and the hazards are enough to drive you crazy with their placement. Mature trees and a nice variety of holes to keep you interested.

Reasonably priced. Good quality fairways and greens. Not too crowded, it took 4.5 hours on a Sunday starting just before 12. I played here a few years back and the 18th didnt feel quite as difficult this time. I would definitely go back.

This is a solid fun track, with fast sloping greens and a grass range with balls to hit all over, a knowledgeable and very cool instructor in Brendan Doyle. One of the better courses around the area this course is really worth it but not quite 65.00, however there are numerous deals online!!

Love this course. Ive been coming here for almost 10 years. TEN MINUTE tee times. Most courses like Highland woods have times of 8 min, 7 min. Thats 8 GROUPS in 1 hour!!. At Hilldale, its only 6 groups per hour. EVEN on a Sunday, your round shouldnt take more than 4 1/2 hours. If the pace is slow, you call the proshop and they send a ranger right away. Yea, this course still has rangers, other courses dont want to pay for a ranger. They also have a guy under a tent at the beginning of the 10th hole. He has beers and brats and hotdogs and italian sausage and snacks. Sometimes they have a beer cart girl but I load up at the bar before I start and again when I make the turn. The Greens here are ALWAYS consistent. If its rolling at an 8 or 9 stimpmeter on the 1st hole, its the same on all of the greens.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! Its a ho-hum muni at best but the staff is some of the worst in the Chicagoland area. They are big on the 4 Is: impolite, ignorant and incompetent. And their attitude is, I dont care.This place gets one star because it has the word golf in its name.You can drive 10 minutes in any direction and find a much nicer place to play golf.

I love this course because it has a nice mix of long, short, target and easy, so you dont feel like youve been beaten up.
