Visited Thanksgiving week - cool and windy, but beautiful! Just a few others on the beach, including a photographer and family being photographed. Nice shaded parking area with restrooms. Beach-mat walkway across the sand. Good walking beach, but maybe not a swimming beach - lots of seagrass/reeds on the beach. Off the beaten path, but well worth the side trip. Less than 4 miles from our condo.

This is the spot for finding fossilized sharks teeth. The flats are teeming with hermit crabs. Nice rest rooms & plenty of parking. Most people congregate on the beach near access from parking lot, but there is a a lot of available beach space in either direction. Private and commercial planes fly overhead on their way to and from the airport. Some nice photo ops & the air traffic noise is not constant and lessens if you move away from the beach access.

Absolutely fantastic find! Went a low tide and had to walk through mud but the kids loved it. So many sea creatures to find and the boys loved the planes flying overhead. Left and came back at high tide so see even more creatures. So much sand and lots of room to play. Bathroom is nice on-site and cant wait to go back

Great day at the beach. This beach is dog friendly and parking is just a short walk to the beach. Has a nice walkway to the beach. Great at low tide. Plenty of sand and shallow water for kids and fur babies. Nice place to see birds, watch hermit crabs and find some shells. You can also see some planes fly over.

My kids and I went to Fish Haul after it was recommended place to get some good shells they wanted for memories of our trip. The beach is gorgeous and the shells were amazing! Loves that the water wasnt too deep so even my youngest could just go splash around. Lots of cool hermit crabs to see and we even spotted a few cool jellyfish! Will definitely be back here!

We actually started out at a totally different beach, but we did not like it that much over there, plus we did not have enough quarters to stay very long because they charged for parking there. THIS beach does NOT charge for parking!I read online somewhere that the beach would close at 5:00 p.m., however the signs up along the drive in said that the beach closes at 9:00 p.m. Im not sure which is correct. The car GPS did not get us to the right parking lot, but we did find it manually with the help of the Maps app.I liked this beach because it was not so crowded, had things of interest along the shore, plus was only a short walk from the parking lot. It also has a restroom. I did not explore the whole thing, but it looked like there were interesting walkways to explore beyond the beach.

This beach is more natural than the other island beaches. This was our first time visiting, and we really enjoyed it at low tide, because the waves were calm, lots of shells, and there was a lot of wildlife to see! Perfect for little ones.

Great beach to see natural wild life. Little critters like crabs turles and even the seagulls. Me my wife and 5 sons had a ball at the beach this 2020 Labor day weekend. We choose the beach because it has no amenities and tend to not draw much of a crowded the down fall was the land is in between to large bodys of land trapping the water in a low sub ocean floor which make tides recedes quickly so my 2 pm the tide move further away then normal beaches do. This left little tide pools behind. There are bathrooms on-site here.

This morning at fish haul beach we were walking back toward the entrance/exit of Fish Haul Beach. We always take notice of the people around us, as we would never allow our dogs to approach people or other dogs on leash. I like to think we are responsible and caring of others rights to appreciate the beach with their four legged besties. We were leisurely walking at the waters edge and I happened to notice a lady w two small dogs( at the dunes) go running run off of thebeach (We assumed it was bc if rain). Our dogs never acknowledged her or her dogs and were too far away to to illicit any fear. Let me restate that our dogs NEVER SAW, APPROACHED, OR HAD CONTACT WITH HER OR HER DOGS. We continued our morning ritual, enjoying the waves/ doggie swims/ and lots of ball chasing UNTIL.....5 min later she came back to beach without her dogs. She WAS running toward us yelling and calling for us. Khan our black lab/terrier mix who loves head rubs and lots of attention went to greet her. Normally, we would have calls him back however we thought she was coming to say Hi....Unbeknowst to us she was approaching us to scold us about our dogs off leash (which is legal and we were more than 200yards from her when she spotted us) and she took HER dogs to car. She came back to beach and was holding a KNIFE and screaming that dogs neeedd to be on leash BC they will attack her and her dogs! She literally pulled a knife as she walked toward us cussing us about our “unsafe animalMost people on this “local beach” have their dogs off leash and are respectful and kind and love to play. I’m hoping this lady is a vacationer and will never return.I’m still anxiety ridden over my experience today and might stick to our second fave dog beach (Burke’s).HAPPY LABOR DAY YALL

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. THIS was the highlight of our Hilton Head week. Its enchanting to go at low tide and just walk and walk. We renamed this beach potato chip ridge beach because of the sand formations, snail shell beach because of the snails, and heaven because of the surroundings. Thank you to everyone who maintains this beach.

Its pretty and quite, but every time we have went, all at different hours of the day, its always seems ro be low tide. Also ita really muddy walking up to the water when it is low tide. Theres so not much space for lounging. Better spot if you want to take a few pics and can actually find a time when you dont have to walk so far to get to water.

Great beach for nature, a secluded feel and scenery. It is probably really nice in the cooler months as swimming isn’t great here and it’s not as breezy as the open ocean beaches. At low tide it is a long way out to the water and the sand at times is like quicksand. Lots of birds, hermit crabs, fiddler crabs, deer tracks

Definitely more of a local beach which is great since its my local friends that took me here. Very quiet and clean. There is an out door shower and public bathroom which are clean. Parking is free and the walk to the beach is very short compared to the other beaches. You can fish here and it is pet friendly. There are barely any waves here and you can walk far out. Especially at low tide. Good for shell picking as others have said. Also it is in the flight path for planes as they land at HHI airport. They fly right over the beach. Its loud but awesome to see them so close. Definitely will be going back when Im in the area again.

If you are into birding, Fish Haul Beach Park is arguably the very best location on Hilton Head Island to observe and photograph dozens of species. Not very many humans in sight because this park is off the beaten tourist path, but there are often thousands of birds in sight up and down the beach, especially at low tide or early morning after sunrise. Free admission and free parking is a bonus.

Absolutely fantastic natural beach. As it is Bay beach versus an ocean, but we love it as there are minimal waves and its usually not too busy. We try and go closer to high tide as you can Wade a little better. When tide is low, its a fairly long trek out to water and the sand can be a little mushy. We always choose this over Coligny as its so much quieter for us

If you are looking for a quiet, beautiful and serene beach visit, this is the place for you. I believe the water is usually much calmer here due to its location on the sound. Bring a float and relax in the water! Also, if you are an airplane enthusiast, you can sometimes catch good views of departing airplanes from Hilton Head Airport.

This is a very chill place to go with the family and not have crashing waves beating on you. The beach is very slow slope so at low tide there is alot of beach to explore. You can walk out into the water seemingly 1/4mi and still be waist deep. Great for lil ones. Only one outdoor freshwater rinse off shower for getting the sand off. Bathroom is well kept and large enough for changing yourself and a few kids. I feel its a good local spot with few tourist venturing to it, otherwise the restrooms may need to be expanded. Parking is shady and free. Short walk to the beach from the car. There is a short drive on a dirt road to get here but seems well kept too.
