Great updates to the facility during the lockdown. New equipment, new pads on the older equipment, fresh paint, and some cool inspirational quotes painted on the walls.

The place looks nice, although to be fair, the only time Ive really been there is for early voting. But I voted there almost every time since 2002 and Ive always enjoyed my time there.

The Zumba and aerobics room is plenty enough to gave great clases. Zumba participants enjoy the space and mirrors arround the room. Friendly staff.

We used to belong to Planet Fitness Hickory for a Black card membership of $20 that allowed us both to go on the same card. The hidden cost was a $60 fee charged annually in August to all memberships.Then we found Highland Rec! Same machines, weights, plus some!Membership is $12 month OR you can pay-as-you-go for $1.50 day pass. If you go only once a week, its only $6 month. Great staff.They also have yoga. Fabulous new indoor basketball courts and pickleball! Outside is a skateboard park with ramps.

I really like the fitness center but wish the hours were a little better like opening at 5am instead of 5:30am for those that want to workout before work. Also they close at 6pm on Saturdays which is kind of early seeing that they are closed on Sundays. They should at least be open until 7pm. Im disappointed with the hours available for open gym where the kids play basketball. It seems like there is always a game going on or practice, and then they take up ALL the courts. Those teams should practice and play at the schools to leave the recreation centers available for the city kids that arent on a team. Our kids need more time to play without having to be on a team. It would be more convenient if my son could play ball more in the gym while I am working out in the fitness center. So far, the staff is great and very friendly in the few times Ive been there.

When we came in all staff was inviting. Quamaine helped us sign up and get started. He gave us a lot of great information that could help my children and I out. There was a fight that almost broke out but the other staff member Durham handled the situation and removed the person starting arguments with others. No hesitation at all they were on it. I feel safe there not just because they have cameras but because the staff put the guests safety first obviously as I seen when I first came in. Thank you so much. We will come back to play ball. My lil ones loved the playground inside. We got home, baths, ate and they were knocked out!

We play T-ball every year here and its always very nice and clean.

I love this place is safe family oriented outside park for the children, inside as well as outside basketball court.. For a small monthly fee you can join the gym there

Excellent facilities with competent friendly staff!

Very friendly staff helped me get set up. Low monthly price without any contact restrictions. Only negative is that there is a lot of cardio equipment that doesnt get used, and not enough space for the free weights. That side gets cramped when trying to lift. But a great place to get into it stay in shape!

We are members cause my hubby plays volleyball here. The people are always friendly and if we lived closer I would use it to work out. I only wish they had a outside track.

Its a recreational center and sometimes it smells like it...but the rec personnel is very polite

I like this place because they welcome vistors. We played basketball and pickleball without a charge. I was able to walk around the large gymnasium.
