Great place. The children loved the planes and the activity visible at the airport. Museum has a lot of history and hands-on exhibits. Great perspective for kids to see the size of the aircraft on the ground versus the sky. Everyone was friendly and informative.

Fantastic aviation museum you will see a lot of vintage aircraft get to experience a quaint airport right in the middle of the city. Hickory North Carolina was a small town but everyone who lived there acted quite bold I guess what I am trying to say is that it is a small town with a big city Like attitude if you understand my meaning. They actually have more than one public transport system and taxi system they even have a county passing system so both the city and the county operate like a large metropolitan area should. We also overheard talk that the aviation museum will be expanding next year and so will the airport and they are actively trying to get international status so that they can get international flights in and out of Hickory North Carolina.

From arrival to departure we had a blast. My son made some new friends today and they are friends with a wealth of knowledge they did not mind sharing at all. The history of these machines is awesome. The availability of them to the public is also very cool. We will be back. Thank you for having us!

My family and I had a great experience!! The staff are so welcoming and willing to inform about the aircraft. They were so courteous. This a jewel for Catawba County. The burgers at the grill in the airport are the best in town. Please go and support the museum as this is a non profit attraction and something many counties do not have. Donate if you can. I am in no way affiliated with them, I was just pleasantly surprised at the exhibits and how eager and knowledgeable the staff were.

Best group of historians ever whom have become friends. Definitely the gem in Hickory, please tip your hats and shake the hands with some of our brave veterans. Remember to always be kind it costs zero to educate the next generation on respect. Humbled with a sense of honor to just know some of them, their personal sacrifices should definitely be a testimony to our military, our government including but not limited to the brave souls that our country has lost in battle.PRICELESS ️ Experience

A small museum with a lot of heart. By itself, I wouldnt expect to spend more than thirty minutes here with children unless the kids are really into aviation. If youd like a longer and immersive experience they provide free flights for ages 7-17 the second Saturday of each month, weather permitting. The volunteers are kind and knowledgeable. Overall, we had a wonderful time.
