Pictures on the course website show what appears to be a perfectly respectable golf course. In actuality, Hampton Heights’ course resembles the sun cooked deserts of west Texas with greens completely dead and tee boxes with little or no grass. The practice facilities include a driving range between two holes where balls consistently fly onto the course itself, a cement and golf mat area at the top of the range and a condemned and overgrown putt putt course. The club pro, Andrew Pitts was noted to be extremely lacking in professionalism and courtesy and under no circumstances will our group be returning. There are several public and semi-public courses in the area that provide exponentially more value and provide a better experience overall.*This picture was taken May 16 2020.
Been coming here for years. Course is always in excellent condition and the staff are great
Very good public course. Staff is helpful and friendly.
Great staff and great prices but the greens are terrible. The greens were mostly sand. Yes they are trying to repair them. The course would be awesome if the greens were in good shape!
Great location and Course. Friendly staff!
If the course hadnt flooded I would say a 5... staff were very nice and we had a great day.
Great golf course at great prices. The guy at the desk andrew maybe is always there to make your experience enjoyable. Also was a cool guy and really helped us out in the pro shop with great deals. I recommend to anyone wanting to play quality golf for a reasonable price.
Meh, it’s a public corse. Pretty much “par for the course”. Lol. See what I did there?
Very nice place and so far friendly people
Its A great place to play golf and friendly people
The course its self is horrible. I go just to use the range.
Nice course with a great driving range.
Average course. Greens need some tlc.
Pretty nice little golf club for the money I only get to go there two or three times a month since I live out of town and I play with my brother-in-law the course is normally in very good shape and the greens look good too really nice people running it
Great golf course to play on with with a great staff. Golf course is very golfer friendly. Alot of new holes have got longer for that long ball hitter. Come to Hampton heights & see all the new changes. Reggie little
Hampton Heights is an awesome value. The course the only public course in Catawba County. The course, driving range, chipping area are all very nice. Tee times are easy to get and the staff are all friendly and helpful.
I feel at home whenever I am at Hampton Heights. It’s a family friendly place. My sons and I really enjoy playing the course. The staff are always welcoming and kind. The other golfers on the course are pleasant. It’s a great place and a great value!
A beautiful coarse. Not any sand traps and very little water. It is hard to Not find your ball. It is pretty wide open. A fun course and nice employees.
Its a pretty nice golf course. Just wish the grass was different to hit out of. But I reccomend this place.
The members are inconsiderate of other players and only care about their dogfight. They want for you to play hurry golf and finish as fast as possible. I wont be playing here anymore
Lots of green grass in the fairway greens coming back nicely after being punched
Great course and people.you can get all your golfing needs there. Try them, you will like it.
A very good place to improve your game. Its not a country club but a good place to get started.
Only good thing good about this course is the driving range
Clean, open, and lots of blind holes! Overall great time!
It is what it is. This is an inexpensive public golf club. The layout on one side is basically down and back over and over then on the other side it is hitting to an elevated green like 7 of 9 holes. The course is set in a residential area and bordered by city streets so theyve done well just to get 18 holes in.The conditions vary but its a low cost public course thats reasonably well kept. This isnt Augusta National folks but its fine.
Flat and open. Pretty much a simple Muni course. Good for an afternoon round. Most holes are repetitive and simple, but there are a few challenging holes with hidden approaches. For an inexpensive play, its not in bad shape.. if youre expecting Augusta National keep looking. This place is full of local duffers just having a good time. Relax
Its a decent place to play if you want to get. Quick 9 or 18 holes in the greens are always in good shape little slow but good shape most of the ppl who work the club house are nice there is one real rude dude without him it would have got a 5 star
Great practice course. Target golf. Reasonably priced! A great value and great facility for our area!
Dont expect a championship level course here. But if you want to practice some hitting and mechanics its a great place. The greens are cut high so they are slow!
Beautiful course
Nice golf course. Fairways and greens are plush. Slow play sometimes however good golf for the money
I like it the greens are good tee boxes are a bit rough but over all its worth the money
Great course and good staff! Always fun to play!
Great times!
Fun little golf course with some tight fairways but short holes.
Nice beginner course
Nice golf shop staff and a pretty decent course for the cost. The only negative that I can say about it is that the green speeds varied from hole to hole which made putting very inconsistent.
Had a great experience with the gentleman in the golf shop. Im not a member, but I will be back.
Nice course to play. Very wide open. Greens are always nice.
Good place to just play golf
THE greens were in good shape
Great place, well kept, co ops with college to teach golf. Reasonable memberships. Thanks
Good value, solid fairways, greens still leave a little to be desired
I didnt go there lol just went past it.
Went to play mini golf. Course was challenging, but not in a good way. Good price though.
Live close, but I dont golf. Its very nice and kept up.
Course in great condition . The staff are very friendly and an enjoyable place to play .
Cant be beat for the price. Excellent greens
Very friendly staff, other golfers are pretty much all your friends. This rookie golfer will be returning for sure
Hampton Heights is in a wonderful location for Hickory residents and it is a great place spend the day.
Other than a few butt holes that play there it is a good and cheap course of play
Great course. Great shape
Never been there only see house for sale across the road
Great track to work on your game! Challenging Par 3s!
Excellent place to play golf
Love the golf course
The old man that works here and locked the door on me saying we are closed at 530 when there were at least 20 people playing and it says they are open till 8 I was going to buy clubs but guess they dont want my business also wont be getting my business after that nonsense
Good place to play a quick round for the money.
