Visiting Helena the third Sat in July ,you can join nearly 20000 people enjoying the symphony under the stars. 2hours of beautiful music and great guest stars, followed by the largest fireworks around.
The Helena Symphony is jewel in the heart of Helena. One of their most popular concerts is the SUTS (Symphony Under The Stars) concert on the lawn of Carroll College in July. It is a huge community party where concert goers leave a blanket, held down with canned goods for the local Food Share, on a choice spot on the lawn to reserve their place to watch the show. Concert goers arrive anywhere from 5:00 to concert time of 8:30 pm and have snacks or dinner with family and friends. Children play frisbee or run to get food from the concessions. The Helena Music Teachers Association has an instrument petting zoo in the laen between 5:30 to 7:30 to allow children (and... ok... adults too) a chance to try their hand at playing a violin, viola, cello, a woodwind or brass instrument. Guitars and percussion instruments were popular too. A great community party.
Cultural oasis in small town.
