We always have a wonderful experience at Forbes. The student artists are always so impressive in whatever we see. So much talent! And the facility is outstanding. What an amazing environment for students to grow and practice their craft. Bravo Dukes!

This is an amazing venue to see performances. The Forbes center offers a wide variety of performance featuring professional and student groups. The ushers are so friendly and informative. Parking is free and attached to the Forbes Center. A must do in Harrisonburg!

This place is like something you’d find in NYC or DC. Great venue, great staff, great performances.

The acoustics are fabulous, the staff friendly, and not a bad seat in the house. Downtown Harrisonburg has lots if excellent restaurants for pre-show dining. James Madison University has a gorgeous campus and the Forbes is central a great location for walking downtown & around the quad. Lovely time had by all!!

Enjoyed an evening listening to the JMU Jazz and Ensemble Bands. The Forbes Center makes a lovely venue. Tonights performance highlighted John Dearth, Director of Jazz Performance at UVA.

If youve never been to the JMU Forbes center you should treat yourself and go! What an incredible addition to JMU that the entire community can enjoy!

Very nice facility, quite modern and clean design. Friendly staff, but unfortunately no food or refreshments are served. Pricing models are slightly questionable at times.

Very nice facility. I visited for the MTNA collegiate piano pedagogy symposium. The entire area was beautiful and clean.

Got the chance to preform here through a JMU program. The hall is smaller in size, but has plenty of seats and more than enough stage room.

Lovely venue with desirable acoustics

We have been going to these places in the summer since my 14 year old daughter was very small we love them now Im taking the grandkids. Fun for the whole family no matter what age.

The JMU parking will give you a ticket even when you are a guest. The sign says commuter parking and faculty until 4pm. Do not be fooled. The brown shirts will give you a $100 ticket at 3:59pm of you do not have a permit. This is absolutely ridiculous when there are so many events that take place at this center, especially when there is a booth. I have been here 4 years and there has NEVER been an attendant at the booth. Poor service. If there was a negative star I would assign one.

Saw The High Kings perform here, very nice venue. I was sitting in the back and I still had a great view!

Wonderful venue for plays

First rate facilities and acoustics are wonderful for both solo performances as well as ensembles. The Steinway piano that has the Bluestone motif on it is worth a look as well in the main area.Students/staff are also very friendly and helpful which reflects wonderfully on the school.Parking is nearby. Lots of students have their recitals/performances there for free as well if you just want to hear and watch how students improve their craft and ability over time.Warning: Do not assume that parking is free/authorized after 4PM on weekdays. Always confirm that it is ok first for weekdays.

Amazing facility that houses JMU performing arts as well as many events and touring artists. This is one of the many facilities that make JMU a special place.

Always a wonderful venue for a show, concert or recital. Seats are comfortable and ticket prices are reasonable.

Great location, plenty of parking. Beautiful architecture. Plenty of restrooms, and very clean. Supports JMU bands and highlights their students and their abilities. Has great support for their conductors and school instructors. Prices are reasonable and support the school. Only downfall, no photography or videography allowed, even if your student is on stage and playing their original piece. They do not even offer dvds of the performances for sale. Celebrating performances by sharing videos not only shows supports for the students, it also brings additional attention to the facility.
