Great for the a whole family. Much better after a rain. Huge rocks and nice cascades. Take a camera.
My family and I went for a hike here and it was beautiful. The only thing I will say is that there are no signs... Anywhere! If it werent for my GPS I wouldnt have even known where it was. There are also no signs once you get in there too tell you where to go. I guess we didnt park at the right place because after talking to a few people we passed we found out we were 4 miles from the big waterfall after walking 2. There was no way we could make it there and back by nightfall with our kids. That was a little disappointing but overall we had a good time. Was also disappointed that the caves were closed.
This beautiful waterfall is a very short hike across the parking lot. Trail is clear and leads to the waterfall as you follow the creek. A few steps down from this, you can reach the Broadwater hollow falls too.
Absolutely wonderful place. Nice stroll through the woods with my girl. The road was a little close to the oil pan on the car, but after heating up the transmission a bit and nearly sliding off the road on a 40 ft ledge....the falls were phenomenal! Team extreme!
Very quiet and peaceful. Easy hike from the road
A beautiful falls on a spur off of the Cecil Cove trail on the Buffalo River. Definitely worth the walk to check it out during wet weather. Even in dry weather, we had a good time.
It is a longer drive than it is a hike. Be prepared for a moderate hike. If you struggle with steep climbs, reconsider. Its not long, but its is hilly. Park above the bend from where the trailhead begins and walk the remainder down. If it is raining, the river will be crossing the road heavily. Do not pass. But it is easy enough to step over or wade through. Happy trails!
This is great little area that is easily accessible from the road via a volunteer trail - perfect for a short hike with kids.If you want a longer day hike, you can also continue downstream and connect with the Cecil Cove Loop.
Super peaceful, meets up with the Cecil trail.
Its a beautiful little trail
It was absolutely beautiful! The distance is short, maybe walking a mile in all, but its a very narrow trail, steep drop offs, lots of climbing up and down. I took my 4 yr old who hikes with me often and he did fine and had a blast. I wore my 2 yr old on my back and it was definitely not a good idea to put him down. The gravel road to get there is rough a bumpy but no worse than a bad back road
We had a great time exploring around the creek, giant rocks covered in moss, many small waterfalls just beautiful
One of the most beautiful spots in the Boston Mountains. Miles of primitive trails, waterfalls, and losing streams. One waterfall is very near to the parking area. There are some deep vertical caves right next to the trail so watch your kids. The road is about three miles down to parking, and is not so nice. I don’t know if I would just take any car. If you do, go slow. Also would not recommend driving through on the gravel road. Enter and exit from Highway 43. You have been warned.
What a great place for an off the beaten path kinda day. Would be a perfect summer swimming hole. Loved this place.
Nice short hike!!!
Great hike worth doing
A place to see.
