Great trails for running, mountain biking, or hiking! Sometimes you see horses, almost all the time there are dogs. It can be easy to get lost on the trails, so I would recommend taking a picture of the map before you start! Fence line is shaded and easier footing, great for beginners. Backstage pass is shorter and fun to explore the top of.

This park is beautiful! We went to visit right before sunset, and the pictures dont do it any justice! The water was clean and oh-so-clear! The park was well kept. There were deer wandering looking for food scraps.Next time I will have to make a full days trip out of this adventure!

This was a nice park for enjoying the lake. The campsites are all along the shoreline so everyone of them seems to be a great spot. The day use area is kept separated from the camping section via a gate which was nice to be able to spread out and safely enjoy the water during these COVID times. Had no issues with the hookups and the site was fairly level. The area was fairly well maintained making accessing the water pretty easy. The water was actually fairly clear for a few feet.

Danas peak is one of my favorite places on earth right now.....you can hike, bike, boat, swim, jetski, run, relax, grill and im sure yall can think of other things as well. Perfect for socially social distancing. The locals are friendly and inviting making it even more welcoming. Oh and the real gem is the waterfall.....so beautiful. Today I took in the amazing sunrise.....

This is a beautiful place to go for a nice, peaceful hike. I usually walk the fence line trail and really enjoy it. Good elevation changes but nothing strenuous. Parking for me in my truck is not an issue but in my Mazda can be a bit difficult, some road shoulder maintenance is needed.

WARNING: this is NOT a review of Dana Peak Park, rather it is a review of Stillhouse Hollow Lake, which is local to the Dana Peak Park area. Google is broken and will NOT let me just review the lake itself.I heard a nasty rumor that there are no natural lakes in Texas. Well ladies and gentlemen, Ive got some cold, hard truth for you.Stillhouse Hollow Lake -- local to the Dana Peak Park area -- is as natural as they come. Natural thrills, natural fun, a natural good time, a place Id recommend for natural childbirth, a natural place I go with friends on a monthly basis. And if thats not natural enough for all you oceanographers out there, may I suggest that youve picked the wrong career!Honestly, I bet being an oceanographer is a pretty boring job, especially in a place like central Texas. Being in the middle of Texas makes most things more exciting, but if your life purpose is to stare at an ocean for like 40 hours a day or something, youre at least a little dead inside here. But, may I suggest, you being dead inside does NOT mean you have to kill everyone elses joy by suggesting that Stillhouse Hollow Lake -- adjacent to Dana Peak Park -- is not natural enough for you. Sure, its not the Atlantic Ocean. We get that, were a landlocked county! And may I further suggest that being a dead-inside oceanographer does not mean you have to date Jacqueline, my longtime ex-girlfriend. Derek, no matter how excited you get about the seven seas, there will never be any life in your eyes.It is an incontrovertible fact that Jacqueline Marie is the love of my life.Furthermore it is an incontrovertible fact that Ive had some great natural food while at Stillhouse Hollow Lake (near Dana Peak Park), and Ive seen some fish that died of (I hope to God) natural causes. If thats not natural enough for me, then Id be sick in the head (and I mean, total psychopath sick), like most oceanographers are.Well guess what ladies and gentlemen, I am NOT an oceanographer so Id say Stillhouse Hollow Lake -- in or around Dana Peak Park -- is as natural as they come.Of course Im still searching for a career path. Im in college for the 4th time, planning to come out ANYTHING but an oceanographer.I guess Im also not studying to be a medical doctor. I know I said Stillhouse Hollow Lake -- a stones throw from the Dana Peak Park area -- is a great place for natural childbirth, but please know I am not a medical doctor and none of this should be considered medical advice. So ladies, if youre making a birth plan, please consult an M.D. prior to scouting out a picnic table with great views of Stillhouse Hollow Lake -- bordering Dana Peak Park. Also, if youre scouting out a picnic table, make sure to arrive before 11:00 am on weekends. If I was even remotely not single (Jacqueline, its never too late), I know Id be scouting out M.D.s who are in support of lake front natural births. Im not sure how soon is too soon to talk about birth plan preferences on a first date, but I guess Ill find out in the coming months as I block out memories of Jacqueline and I jump back in to that game.My recommendations today:- 5 out of 5 would recommend Stillhouse Hollow Lake (accessible via Dana Peak Park), get there before 11:00 am on weekends- 5 out of 5 would recommend dating Jacqueline Marie- 0 out of 5 would recommend dating anyone named Derek or anyone who claims to be an oceanographer as a profession but does not live in an ocean- 5 out of 5 would recommend WebMD for any and all medical advice regarding questions about childbirth and acceptable uses of the afterbirth

This was our families first time camping there. It was an unforgettable place to stay at. The restrooms were clean and not as far away as we thought they were going to be. The camping site had enough distance from the other campers. The gate attendant was genuinely nice. The lady who maintained the restrooms clean is doing an awesome job. We loved it and will come back again.

This is a great place to spend time with your family and friends! The scenery is absolutely gorgeous and there is always a breeze here. They have many hiking trails to choose from, a beach, boat ramps, day use areas, plus camp sites. We come here often and will definitely recommend Dana Peak Park to anyone that is looking for some summer fun, but, of course, this place is beautiful all year long. However, I still wish that their bathrooms and covered picnic tables were a but more tidy.

This place is excellent for family occasions. If you want to go drink and relax with your buddies. Everything was pretty clean. The only bad thing and we can all agree is, since is an open area, bad weather will ruin a wonderful moment. Other than that, I highly recommend you must come here if youre stationed at fort Hood or live around Killeen, Harker heights or copperas cove. If youre active duty military you shouldnt pay for a fee.
