Hannibal History Museum gives you all the details on the life of Mark Twain and his hometown. They produce the Big River Steampunk Festival every Labor Day- 15000 people in top hats and goggles take over the charming town!!!

Went down to hannibal for a little get away trip with my cousin and her family, we were trying to find some fun things to do. we saw the haunted ghost tour sigh and we were calling to just find more information, so we went ahead and made an appointment and it was to be reserved by giving debit number over the phone and then when you get there they’ll get rid of it and wed pay there there. No one said anything about making a reservation wed finalize the order. later on my cousins baby was acting fussy and we thought instead of ruining the entire tour for everyone wed just cancel it before it even started and they told us no cancellations, so we called back and they said they’d let it go. so we thanked them and came back home and realize they still ended up taking 70$ from my boyfriends card.

Free will donation museum that will tell you more about the actual history of Hannibal than all the other museums combined. Mark Twain transformed Hannibal, but Hannibal formed Mark Twain. Its smaller. Its cooler. Its got the hippest gifts.

The museum had a sign up that for the week between Christmas and New Years that it would only be open Thursday - Saturday starting at 10am. On Thursday at 10:15 am somebody showed up and changed the sign to say they were now only going to be open on Saturday. They didnt even have the courtesy to say anything to those of us waiting for them to open. The lack of customer service was astounding. Dont include this place in your plans at all because you will never know if they will be open. There was still a lot of great places to see and visit in Hannibal, for now... The area does seem to be hitting a decline. I hope it is not because of this level of service.
