Excellent museum. Focus is on the Oklahoma territorial period, basically from the first land runs (1889) to statehood (1907). Modern style, profesionally developed exhibits. The Carnegie Library is part of the museum and a great bonus...we dont build public building like that anymore...

The beauty of the Carnegie Library captured my imagination of times gone by. The building is a work of art and is stunningly beautiful. Andrew Carnegie was inspiring and gave the world so many gifts.

Another well done, small museum that is well focused on specific events. In this case its Oklahomas march to statehood. Very well done with excellent exhibits and explanations. Im not a native Oklahoman so this was good information for me on our states history. Worth the trip to Guthrie

Found this hidden gem from a highway sign. What a wonderful Informative museum. Hits all the highlights of the area....the land grab, statehood, Sooners and boomers....and the early settlements. I am so glad we came. Price is very reasonable and displays are thoughtful. Love the pics. A must see. We spent maybe 2 hours and read 85% of the signs. A quick but wonderful place to visit.

Nice use of the old Carnegie library. Learn more about the displacement of Native Americans and how Gutherie was the early Capitol of OK. For some reason the lights were not on for many exhibits making it hard to see displays and to read the information.
