What a hidden gem. Ive lived 3 mins away from here for most of my life and never went until recently. Driving by, doesnt look very appealing, but the trails are awesome, and its not too busy; very laid back. Now me and my dog go here every weekend, one of our favorite spots. If youre looking for a good trail in the area, especially if you have dogs, hit this one up.

Nice, easy rambling trails, clearly marked and away from the road.

Nice trail system right off Route 80. Multiple trails to extend your bike for as long as you would like. Relatively peaceful. Not a lot of other hikers around. Great place to hike if you want to get away from it all, get a little fresh air, and clear your mind.

Beautiful area. Its a preserve with over 550 acres of forest. Lots of hiking trails and a stream meanders through it. I dont know that your can camp although I dont know if anyone would stop you if you did. A small parking area at each of the trailheads. Be very considerate all the trailheads are in residential neighborhoods, dont block any driveways or park in front of folks houses. None of the hikes are too strenuous. You can find trail maps online or at local businesses. A great place to go in the summer or fall.

One of my favorite trails, its not too difficult but theres still some terrain to keep things interesting. Also one or two really pretty spots to stop and take in. If you have dogs there are a couple places to let them swim and cool off and its not usually verybusy with foot traffic. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for something fun but not too intense.

Another one of my favorite hiking trails. Numerous trails, medium hikes. Spectacular foilage... Especially in the fall.

Been hiking all over, turns out one of my favorite parks is right in my backyard. Expansive is right, Ive so far only explored the south, and our hikes routinely go 6-7 miles. Excellently marked as well, and lots of wildlife to be seen.

Once you get away from the state forest north of route 80, not too much of the park is within ear shot of people shooting guns for target practice, which is good for Connecticut. Pretty forest and lots of hiking trail loops to choose from.

Ive been hiking here for years. One of Connecticuts hidden treasures. There is a great outlook about 600 feet up that you can see pretty far out on a nice day. Very little outside noise as well.
