I put my daughter in quite a few camps this summer. She completed Empathy and Kindness ($170), Epic Adventures ($170), Hogwarts Primary ($170), Imagination Exploration ($170), and Aladdin & Mulan ($190?). I’d like to start off by saying that I think the Children’s Theatre is a great idea. I also understand that things had to change drastically due to COVID. The staff did an excellent job taking care of my daughter and she had a great time, regardless of restrictions. However, I put my daughter in these camps to learn about theatre. Some classes were amazing. Others weren’t worth the money I spent. Imagination Exploration and Aladdin & Mulan were my personal favorites. My daughter loved Hogwarts Primary which is no surprise (she’s a big Harry Potter fan). Imagination Exploration was amazing because they received scripts and parts. You can tell that they were guided on where to walk, face, and how loud to speak. In Aladdin & Mulan she learned simple but cute songs with choreography. The Hogwarts week was fun simply because they got to play Harry Potter themed games, cast spells, and drink butterbeer. Then there were the classes that I really wish I had passed on. Epic Adventures and Empathy & Kindness were a complete waste of $340. My first issue is with the scripts, or lack thereof. In Epic Adventures, my daughter didn’t get a complete script until the day before the “show”. It was worse with Empathy & Kindness. She never received one at all. The kids are allowed to make up their own stories. Neither of the story lines made sense and you can’t hear half of the kids. Even if COVID wasn’t happening right now, and we were able to go see our kids in person, I don’t think anyone would have heard anything. I think that letting kids use their imagination is a great idea, but I think it should have been guided a bit more. Maybe give the kids an idea of where the story needs to go and have them fill in some blank areas. It was essentially like watching my kid play on the playground with other kids while they made up a super random story, from what I could gather at least. I couldn’t hear most of it. I was really sad that the summer started off really strong/exciting and ended so poorly. I wish they would have put that in the class description on the website. I wouldn’t of chose it if I had known that ahead of time.

What a fun experience and a comfortable place to take your kiddos! We went with our 4 year old, 2 year old, and 10 month old! They enjoyed it and interacted with the play because of how comfortable they were made to feel! Great family outing!

My kids adored the show we saw here! Make sure to purchase tickets ahead of time, the staff gave us all kinds of greif for having to accept payment, which I found odd.
