This was definitely an unexpected gem of a place. Lots of Revolutionary War history with beautiful monuments & memorials. The Visitor Center was open and had a nice tour through it. The staff was very friendly. There are quite a few hiking trails along with an audio driving tour around the park as well.

9-3-2020 - I walk my dog at the Guilford Courthouse National Military Park at least two to three times a week. I love the historical significance of this park, and the many ways you can traverse the trails, as well as experience the history through areas designated to teach you about the integral Battle that occurred here during the Revolutionary War. Park Rangers Barefoot, and Foxx, are wonderful staff members on site, and at the Visitor Center. (Which is currently closed due to Covid-19 restrictions.)The Visitors Center Museum and mini-movie are a must-see to fully experience what Guilford Courthouse National Military Park is all about, and how it shaped our city. Family groups of deer roam the park throughout the day and add to its non-city feel. The only drawback are the numerous downed trees from storms in the last 3-5 years; they dont block the trails, but the way they have been handled leaves a very messy/uncared for look to the park.

Beware the visitor center parking lot. They charge 130$ for tickets if you happen to miss the little entrance gate sign(thats easy to miss) that says they close at 5pm, while the rest of the parking lots remain open and will lock you in. There is no other sign inside the lot. Tried to leave shortly after 5, the rangers leaving the museum didnt bother to warn me on the bench as I was catching my breath from hiking the trails and a Park Ranger immediately shows up to ticket people. Obvious money making scheme.

This was a neat park/museum, perfect to spend an afternoon exploring. It was very interesting to see a Revolutionary War site in the South. The museum was has some interesting artifacts on display, and the exhibits seemed updated and well done. The park grounds were quite nice, but the statues and monuments etc are very grandiose. The park itself is dated in the sense that it was built to glorify history rather than accurately interpret it.It is definitely more of a park than a battlefield, and was in a surprisingly populated area. I enjoyed it, and if you enjoy military or American history you may too. It seemed like a popular place for dog walkers and seniors. If youre an average tourist/traveler, it may not be your thing.

This is my favorite park because it’s perfect for running, biking, skating or just walking. There is a paved wide trail that goes in a big circle about 2 miles for one lap. It’s great to explore all of the unpaved trails and monuments as well! It’s always clean and socially distancing usually isn’t a problem. Go here to get your exercising done in nature!

A great place to visit. Great walking paths with playgrounds and a pond. We happened to visit on the 238th Anniversary of the battle. There was an reenactment, and vendors selling various items. The statutes and memorials were really awesome. Took my kids there (ages 10-16) and they loved it. We didnt have a lot of time to spend there, but will definitely go back. There are also picnic tables available. Definitely a fun place to check out if youre in the area.

Excellent walking paths throughout the park. Its much bigger than I realized the first time I went there. I walk the paved loop often with my dog and its great exercise for him (a little over a mile); tons of space for walkers/runners, bikers, and cars; not very difficult of a walk; and a good amount of dog waste trash cans/bag dispensers. Weve also walked the smaller paths off the road that seem to have more monuments, and love those as well. A few open fields along these smaller paths are great for playing fetch if you have a long lead. Love all the benches along the route as well.

We enjoyed the tour. There are two shows/movies, a nice historical walk-through exhibit, and a nice gift shop in the visitor center. I would not say this place is kid-friendly- they are very serious about the sanctity of the park. The path to the big monument is not paved and the path to the smaller sites is very steep, so this may not be the best place to visit for folks with mobility challenges. There is a nice driving tour that might be a good option.

The city of Greensboro is named after Revolutionary War General Nathaniel Greene, who, in March of 1780, fought British General Cornwallis and his troops to a draw, at the location of the present battlefield park. My wife and I frequent this park to run and walk during all seasons of the year. This park has a loop roadway approximately two miles long, with stops along the way describing the battle. You can even tune your radio to have your visit narrated. There are numerous paved trails that split off from the various stops, as well as many interesting monuments throughout the park. My favorite is the huge statue of General Greene on his horse near the entrance to the park. The park is heavily wooded, offering shade and beautiful fall color. There is a park office, gift shop and museum with ample parking. The museum offers a free movie about the battle. There is no charge for visiting the park. This is the only Federal National Park (Military Park) in Greensboro, and it is truly a one of a kind gem for Greensboro.

Check out the museum. I had an ancestor that was at this battle. We mentioned this to one of the staff members and he asked what his name was. We told him and he went to the back office. He came back later with letters, documents, and correspondence that they had about this ancestor and other descendants. It was really neat.We did the audio tour with CD but it looked like you could call a phone number to get the same thing. There are a lot of different stops and things to see.

Wonderful piece of U.S. History. The rangers all had wonderful passion and shared it with my son and I. I recommend the whole walk. Stop by the Welcome Center and watch the National Parks video. Puts it into great context. The hike is well worth it. My 5 year old has sparked an interest in history and this really brought it to life for him. For me it exemplifies the sacrifice these men made for our new nation. The battle of New Garden was hand to hand, house to house. Led by Lighthorse Henry Lee. It was this battle that sent Cornwalis packing toward Yorktown!

So far weve only spent an hour at this great site, but we plan on returning very soon. From a Revolutionary War point of view the area has some pretty significant history, and should interest even people with only a minimal interest in Americas breaking away from England. In addition to looking around we watched a 30 minute live action film while there which was very enlightening and moved along at a good pace - wasnt boring or stodgy at all. They also have an outstanding museum inside the visitors center with many great artifacts such as muskets, swords, pistols, uniforms, and everyday objects from the time period. Definitely worth a look if youre gonna be in the area. :)

Good place to walk, run, bike or push a stroller. Good tree cover throughout the loop. The loop is about 2 miles. This is also a good place for families. The area near General Greenes statue is ideal for little kids to safely run around. Also, the area near the obelisk monument with the benches is a nice place to sit, relax and enjoy nature. We love having mini picnics there.During these days of COVID, while out with my family, I found the loop to be a little unsafe as too many people are walking/running in both directions. The loop here is always several degrees cooler and therefore makes it a good place for walks during hot summer months.Overall this is a very nice park.
