This golf course is a quiet sleeper to win my vote for the best public course in the Chicagoland area. Course was in great fall condition. Greens were fast and rolled true, even after about an inch of accumulated rain prior to our round. The staff was very pleasant, and mixed up a great morning bloody. The scenery on this course is unforgettable. My only regret is that we played it for the first time late in the season. We will certainly be back here next year and over many seasons to come. Great course!!!

Stonewall Orchard is certainly a top 3 best public golf course in illinois. It has a beautiful and challenging design. However what I love about it and what makes it playable for all skill levels are the Large and wide fairways. Providing excellent landing zones despite obstacles. Great water challenges. Excellent maintenance and challenging large greens.

Loved it! The restaurant inside is open to the public and we had outdoor dining available for covid19virus safety. The fish fry was fried cod with homemade potato chips, and coleslaw with tartar sauce. The clam chowder was another hit as well.

Great course. Greens roll true. Layout can be challenging, but fair. They do a great job maintaining the course. Practice green is nice and large. Gives a chance to practice all sorts of putts. Grass range gives a nice place to warm up.

Challenging and Elegant. A perfect golf course that never stops challenging you while giving the infrequent taste of success. This is what makes this course so brilliant and addictive. The course maintenance is perfect, the staff attentive and knowledgeable. We are lucky to have our own true championship course in Illinois.

One of the hidden gems in the IL/WI Stateline area. Always in fantastic shape and the greens roll as true as youll find anywhere. Dont miss long on the 18th hole, otherwise it could ruin your round ;)

Had a fantastic time golfing here to celebrate my birthday! Every employee working is incredibly kind and welcoming. Playing this course is well worth the green fees. The fairways, greens, and sand bunkers are in pristine condition on absolutely every hole! Every hole offers a great variety of tee boxes for every level player. Their new golf carts are out of this world and by far the most advanced and comfortable cart I’ve ever seen on a public course! I had to go back the next day after playing 18 to use their awesome driving range, where they use titleist range balls! It’d be my dream to save up enough for their young adult membership next year but until then I can’t wait to go back throughout this summer/fall!!

Very nice as always! Greens had to be 11-12We played in 15-20mph wind but we cant complain about the coarse condition on Nov.6!

Played for the first time, and was blown away! Great condition, fast (but not unfair) greens, scenic throughout, good pace of play. Top 3 public courses in the Chicagoland area. Look forward to playing again!

7/2/2020I’m actually very disappointed in my Round today at Stonewall Orchard. Fairways were good however on several greens their were so many goose droppings it was almost impossible to putt. After all the money that our foursome paid to play. The course needs to do a better job keeping the greens clean.

Showed up this AM for my round. Upon arrival at the course the fog was heavy and it was 41 degrees. Not the greatest of weather for golf. I asked for a refund due to the bad weather-no good. Greedy, greedy, greedy.

Exceptional public golf course. Tough but fair, very well maintained. One of top public options in the state.

For the pros. Im an average golfer and this was hard. Real tough course. Really nice really well kept, but if your just starting out go elsewhere

One of the best courses around Chicago. Stonewall Orchard is our escape from the rat race. Beautiful grounds, staff, and facilities. If/when the weather is good, this is the place to hang out and improve your game. I highly recommend.

We enjoyed the atmosphere and music.We were looking for a place for brunch after a concert the night before. It seems to be a great night. Food was amazing!

Very beautiful golf course. Everyone is friendly and willing to help. Free bag drop service and all carts have GPS in them. Price wasnt bad for a nice challenging course.

Tough but fair track, pays to know where to miss.

We ordered the fish fry which was delicious and very reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and attentive. Lovely location.

I expected more from this course to be honest, the tee boxes were is dispicable shape, the greens had a lot of ball marks and were sometimes patchy. However the course is challenging and a good way to get better, shot placers excel here.

Great food! Friday fish fry is very good. 3 selections of all you can eat. Only a couple draft beer choices, but lots of bottles. Server staff was very busy so we waited I bit longer for drink, food, and check but not to big of a deal. The restaurant over looks the golf course so getting a seat closer to the windows is good.

What a great course. Played early in the morning, and with a senior rate, was $53. What a bargain. Course is in great shape. Tough approach shots, fast greens. Well placed fairway bunkers. No homes surrounding it, just you and nature. I felt like I was on vacation. If you like a fair challenge, cant be beat!

Food ok. Bar is nice. Facilities are lovely. Managers are nice, but I had trouble once when absolutely nobody at the front desk could even pretend to care or look for a couple expensive clubs I had left by the green on 18 one night finishing up in a hurry and late and darkening. Just lazy and jerky in this incident. Big turnoff. Went back and out of curiousity, found them in lost and found months later (they werent there in the days following)That said, the course is spectacular, a beautiful, open, but challenging track - well maintained.

I always make room in my golf schedule for Stonewall Orchard. I am always glad that I do. It is a wonderful challenge and a beautiful walk. I encourage everyone to walk because you will see a lot more beauty that you do whizzing by in a cart.

My family and I have been to many fish fries at Stonewall Orchard. The food is amazing and the staff is wonderful. I myself am not a golfer, but my family has been golfing for years. Stonewall Orchard has a beautiful course with breathing taking views. I high recommend Stonewall Orchard as a place to go!

Really enjoy Friday night fish fry! The drive in allows you time to exhale the week away then the view, cocktails and food seal the being of the weekend!
