Not only are there trailheads to some of the best hikes in the monument right there, but it is a peaceful and beautiful place for picnic at all times of year

Not really for the picnic area - but for the actual Devils Kitchens rock formation. From the parking area across from the picnic area, take Old Gordon Trail to No Thoroughfare Trail to Devils Kitchen Trail. Amazing rocks - best viewed at sunset for some dramatic shadows. The rock structures here are perched on a cliff wall. Makes for some dramatic views towards Monument Road to the northwest of the Kitchen.

Clean, with lots of tables. A good place for a post-hike picnic.

Beautiful red rocks, quick and easy hiking trail, fun for kids too.

Great quick hikes here. If youre looking for a hike that takes no longer than an hour or two then thisis the place. I really like devils kitchen hike and serpents trail.
