I went in today for the first time. Ive just taken up fly fishing and just had a 10 year old rod from Bass pro my uncle has been lending me. I needed a leader since the one on the pole was falling apart. I went in for that and left knowing way more than I expected to learn so quickly. Extremely helpful staff even while they are in the middle of a move. Dylan is who helped me out and because of him ill definitely be back.

Beautiful fly shop. Nick is a great guide sharing his wealth of knowledge on fly fishing. I had an unforgettable experience catching my first trout on a fly while my more experienced brother in law landed many big fish. Great trip!

This is a really great fly shop. They were good when they were owned by Arbor Anglers and they are even better operating as an independent shop. Very folksy feel, perfect Golden CO vibe, knowledgeable, not pushy, wont sell you what you dont need.Im a lazy angler, I walk in, ask what is getting the hits, buy a dozen of what they recommend and go catch fish; just the way its supposed to be.

The best fly shop around hands down. Theyre all always willing to chat and give us tips. Not ever have I had the typical fly shop experience here where they are rude and dismissive. I support this local shop as much as I can!

Phenomenal spot to get dialed in with the right gear and sound advice from a guy who really knows what he is talking about. Arbor has a very nice shop with a sizeable selection of gear, apparel, rods, fly patterns and tying supplies. Could not be happier with my purchases.I recently got a leak in a pair of waders I purchased from Arbor Anglers and they made the warranty process as easy as could be. I just dropped of the waders and they handled everything! Didnt have to deal with any shipping, calling customer service, boxing things up, finding receipts, filling out forms, etc. (Side note...only buy Patagonia waders... Bulletproof lifetime warranty). This type of customer service is THE reason to purchase from a local bricks and mortar shop like Arbor.

One of the guys helping out was a pretty big bro. Made me feel pressured to buy more flies than I wanted to. Other guy in the shop seemed cool but he was helping other customers. Based on other reviews I probably had a one off experience.

My wife and I are new fly fishing and already had the rod and reel, but the reel needed to be strung and needed to buy additional accessories. Kevin probably spent close to an hour getting us set up. He was always trying to match the best equipment for our level of experience and we never felt he was being pushy.I noted as other customers came into the store, the staff knew many of the customers by name which means the Golden Fly shop has a very strong following of local trough fly fisherman.Thanks Kevin.

Goldens GO-TO fly shop, easily located in a strip center by Earth Treks. Easy parking, knowledgeable staff and guides. Great website for local scoop on whats biting. The winter tie flying and spring fish along groups build community and comradeship amongst families, singles and avid anglers.

I have always spun fished, so I was excited about trying fly fishing. I first stopped at a fly shop in downtown Golden, 15 minutes in, not a hello, Nothing! I left unsure Id give fly fishing a try. 20 minutes later I found Arbor Anglers.....where do I begin!?! Staff is incredible, Nick, Brent and Kevin. Nick guided me through my first set up purchase. Selection is top notch! Customer service is PHENOMENAL! I have now become a fly on the wall hanging out learning more and meeting great people on their Tuesday night fishalongs. I would highly recommend Arbor for great authentic not trying to sell ya but truly help ya advice. I would not be obsessed and 3 rods in if I hadnt found Arbor Anglers!

We went to Arbor based on a referral from a local fly fishing geek friend of mine, so our expectations were high from the beginning. We had a mix of experienced and unexperienced fly fishers in our group, and I must say we are all extremely satisfied with the experience with had with Arbor and the guide they sent us with, Craig.Craig tuned everything about the day to the specific conditions of our group and the day at hand. He gave us a wonderful education in the basic considerations of fly fishing, from predictable ways fish behave, to the lifecycle of bugs, how to read water, and what all of this means for the fishing technique wed be using (czech nymphing).Perhaps most important of all, beyond the education and how much we enjoyed spending time with Craig - we were all successful! We brought in dozens of fish as a group of 3, even before we got rained out.I gotta say even outside of the fishing experience, we just really enjoyed our guide Craig and the combination of enthusiasm, wisdom, patience, and fun he brought to the experience.Well be back to Arbor soon and recommend you give them a call as well!

Arbor Anglers is an awesome shop! I am new to fly fishing, and the guys in the shop were so helpful. They answered all of my questions and actually went above and beyond to show me some tricks their guides use to fish with nymph flies! I wasnt in the shop long, but I left feeling so much more confident! They are a Patagonia dealer too, which is super cool. The location and parking is so convenient. I will definitely be back! 5 STARS FOR SURE!

Place is fantastic. Much needed for Golden! Unlike most shops that only push Simms, Sage, Yeti, and Abel... these guys have everything else, but can still order anything you want. I always seem to find some new gear that I’ve never seen before. Great to stop in for a chat - only thing missing is a keg and TV and I’d be right at home!

Kind of found this shop by accident but was really glad I did. Nick does an outstanding job and his shop is first rate in every way. Found all the tie materials I was looking for and also ended up getting a new pair of Patagonia wading boots for my son. This is definitely going to be my go to place for fly fishing.

Love the atmosphere and the location is perfect for being near outdoor activities. Ive been into other shops and they dont have that friendly inviting atmosphere so its nice to have a shop like this one. They have a nice variety of fishing gear, clothing and accessories. Im a big fan of Smith sunglasses and Patagonia so Im glad they carry their stuff. They are also reasonably priced. Dont waste your time going anywhere else, check this place out first!

Ive been fly fishing 20 plus years, in most western States and Alaska, and this is my number one fly shop of all. The staff come from behind the counter to greet me and shake my hand and thank me when I leave...this is customer service at its best. They carry a great selection, and offer friendly advise about local waters. Ive chosen to spend my hard earned money in this shop time and again, and would highly recommend it to every level of fly fisher.

I received the best service and knowledge about fly fishing while at Arbor Anglers. Im new to this type of fishing and felt like the staff helped me understand all the different components needed to set up a fly rod in the correct way. There was so much experience at hand, I could easily relate to why the different types of setups work for different types of streams. I was able to test cast many different rod types and could now understand why they felt different from each other. Eventually I found the right combination of rod and reel to use and know that this will be a lifetime investment, not only in quality of equipment, but also quality of life experience.

Arbor anglers are a very professional, knowledgeable fly shop. Great vibes, attitude, and not stingy at all when it comes to catching fish and enjoying life.. This is a place you can go and just relax, kick back and have fun!

This is a fantastic shop, especially for an inexperienced fly fisherman like I am. I brought in a Loomis fly rod for repair and was told by Brent that they could get it repaired or replaced by Loomis for free! No other shop I called had told me that. Sure enough, in a few weeks I had a brand new, upgraded Loomis fly rod at no charge. Another thing I like about this shop is that regardless of your skill or experience level, they are happy to instruct you in the most basic elements of fly fishing. Nick even drew out a diagram for me to use when I was a bit confused about proper rigging. Great customer service and always a welcoming greeting. Also, theyve got great dogs that hang out there. I think thats a requirement for a great fly fishing shop....

This quaint little shop is located on the hillside leading into Golden proper. The owner is extremely friendly and the staff remarkably knowledged. Give these guys a shot, they will work with anyone from the novice angler all the way up to the veteran guide. Reasonably priced, and not pushy with products, a worthwhile location to frequent for your fishing needs.

Outstanding shop all round

Guys were awesome!!! have been all over town looking at packs and getting a feel for what I wanted. Most other fly shop guys are all pretentious and not very helpful I hate those shops i just want to tell them You just arent that awesome so chill the &*() out we are fisherman not beauty queens, never met a trout that gives a &*() what Fly-hipster attitude you have. I digress, these guys at arbor spent 30+min helping me get a pack set up adjusted and made sure to tell me what they liked and didnt. They even stole parts from another pack to make sure i had mine all set up proper. I will always support the small biz guys for that reason. Thank you -Zach

This shop is awesome. Broke my rod while fishing Clear Creek Canyon. Headed down the hill to find a fly shop or possibly go to Wally World and pick up an el cheapo.Remembered seeing a fly shop sign from 6th so swung in to see if I could find something affordable.These guys totally empathized with my situation and got me hooked up with a nice affordable rig.Great location. I came in from California to fly fish Colorado with my dad. The guys at Arbor were awesome about answering all of my quesitons. We booked a trip with their guide service, 5280 Angler. We fished the South Platte in Deckers. We had an awesome time!! I picked up some really sweet tricks and we caught a lot of fish!
