There r stairs that lead u down to waters edge .you still can see the action from above on Deveroux road .there r only a few parking spots .I ride my bicycle there. Sit on the rocks at the waters edge and watch the rafters and the surfers .YES I did say surfers !!Surfing in Colorado ! Did California and Nevada fall into the ocean !?No..... the city rigged up a very small part of Colorado river so the water creates a continuous wave..So.... next time u visit Glenwood Springs Co.Dont forget ur surfboard !!

Very entertaining to watch the locals surf the Colorado River current. If you have time to stop and break, do so at exit 114 on i70 east or west.

Glenwood has utilized the colorado! This little stop on a bend of the colorado river has been turned into a ducky safe spot! Athletes from all over the state are coming here to practice. Beginners come here from classes at our high school. Everyone in between comes here, because they can tone thier muscles, and skills, for the hard stuff!Dont get caught trying your skills on that hard to get to---twist your ankle, no running water, no parking for miles, too swift for your skills, too many boulders in the passage for your head to hit, glenwood has fixed all that!Come here to duck and spin and pop to your hearts content, bring the kids, bring you friends, who want to try, bring the guys from your office, bring the girls from work, after youve trained here you can go any where to shoot the sluice box of your dreams with your friends and dont forget the cameraman, because youre gonna want video.

This spot is just plain cool. Great view of the mountains and the Colorado river. Watch kayakers and rafters struggle against the rapids. They better hope they dont drown when Im watching, Im not jumping in that cold and rough water for anything. I might call 911 or shout motivational words.
