Very friendly and affordable rec center. It’s small but it does the job. The classes are awesome and include a huge variety.

Poorly run, poorly managed City Rec Center. The city is really letting this place go. The locker rooms are disgusting. Almost at a staff infection level in the ice rink. I wouldn’t recommend half of the staff to be fry cooks at McDonald’s. The Glenwood Springs good Ol boy system is definitely in full effect. Have filled out comment cards numerous times in the last few years with no change. City employees filling out applications to go work at the Arc in Aspen at the front desk of the ice rink on the city computer. City means government property if I’m not mistaken? OOF!! Not a good look at all. Really shows you how poorly Glenwood Springs is run as a whole.

Amazing place to hike with great views; unlike anything Ive ever experienced in the US.

I enrolled to the rec center 2 years ago, at first I got the whole year paid and this year since January I got the monthly payments membership. No one told me about that there is a special offer for students (I’m a full time student) of course they want you to pay more, which is not the case, the case is when you’re a student it’s so hard to get everything together and have time to workout or do some other things. I recently found out about this offer and people at the front desk told me to call the manager (kristy) that she is so nice and she’ll do something about it, So I called her, she was not really nice it all and then she told me to prove that I am a full time students which I have no problem with, and then she will change my numbers, it’s been 5 months that I’m paying more than I should, but she won’t prorate the extra amount I’ve been paying. So in this case I’m so mad because not one said anything at first like not one offered me nothing it all, they need to give you more details about everything. I’ve been paying more then I should. They should let you know of the possible discounts you can apply for when enrolling.

The rec center has awesome and well maintained equipment. The staff is friendly and straightforward and always willing to help. The experience has been exemplary, and I love coming here.Always lock your locker, doesn’t matter if you’re in there for ten seconds, ten minutes, or ten hours. I went in there for a shower, after working out. In that span of time, my wallet was stolen from the locker. When I returned to search for it, the staff advised me that there had been a series of thefts at the rec center. Don’t take the risk. Always lock your stuff down!

We were going to stay here but it didnt feel very clean in the lobby, smelled unusual and everything felt sticky. They are also rated one of the top hotels for pets so that could explain a few things. But if you have a family they have a lot of options for entertainment. I would not reccomend this for a relaxing time as there are screaming crying children at every corner (to be fair it was a holiday weekend but it wasnt that busy) We ended up not trying something new and stayed at the springs again.

My grandkids and I loved the Rec. Ctrl. Swimming pool after a long hot day. It was much more affordable than paying for the Hot Springs.

Great availability for facilities and affordable prices. Does not provide gear for bouldering or rock climbing, though, so come prepared. Student discounts available for ALL students too.

Only used the restroom but looked like it would be a lot of fun. Seen a climbing wall running track, basketball courts, workout equipment.

This place is a nice and affordable recreation center and good hang out spot for kids/families. It consists of an aquatic center, a basic fitness gym, a skating rink, and a tennis court. Very affordable year passes, especially if you get the family plan. Friendly and helpful front desk staff as well.The major con here would be the limited fitness area. If youre going to get a quick and bare bone workout youll be fine, but dont expect anything more.

Great place to keep the little ones busy and active for a day!

They offor lots of activities for both children, youth and adults. I play basketball there every week and they have a designated time for adult drop in ball. Great staff. Costs $10 for a day pass to do everything. Not much of a weight room but enough for basics but can get very crowded easily and the basketball court a little worn but still in good shape.

Needs better local deals

Over priced, dirty, and crowded. It’s priced for what you’d pay at a CrossFit gym. I only want to use the gym part. Sometimes I walk in and trash I’ve seen days before are still in the cup holders on the equipment. One day a man was painting above the machines while everyone was working out. The weight room is really small and always crowded. I feel like I’m not getting my money’s worth. The staff is nice and the location.

Love soaking in the hot springs when my muscles need it.

Need more space for free weights, barbell work, box jumps/steps, etc. Absolutely must have a squat rack. This is the first workout area I have ever seen in my life that did not have a free weight squat rack. There is plenty of wasted spaces around the building that could be used.

We love the recreation center! The facility is clean, fun and safe. We love having birthday parties there too.

Pool is not very great for kids. But rock climbing was great. Even for my 4 year old. Prices were avg.

Great workout area! Rock climbing wall, pool with slide, basket ball courts...they have it all! While it is a small area, there is everything you need. Its $10 if you live in city limits ($8 if student), $11 if not ($9 if non-student). Its an all day pass

Little bit for everyone. Wish the ice skating was a bit cheaper. Only can skate at open skate for 1.5 hours and coat $9. Kids still have a good time though

Super overpriced monthly fees ($70) makes it difficult to be healthy. They don’t offer any discounts or offer a Gym only memebership.

$10 drop in fee? Seems a bit much for the quality...

Great pool - clean facilities

Good options for classes and clean but the free weight and stretching areas upstairs are a joke. They are so small only a small amount of people can be using them at a time. Sunday hours need to be the same as Saturday.

Pretty good... unless you want to go ice skating...then it is super bad bc it is never open to the public for more than an 1 hour during school hours

Called to ask a quick question and the man who answered the phone was rude and short with me then proceeded to tell me he was very busy.Costumer service is not there strong suit.

Wonderful if you have kids. There is a kid zone with splash water fixture and slide. The hot tub is nice for the grownups.

Love it I always have swim practice there

Pretty fun. Its a little pricey but the pool is great for little guys. Splash pad style water works and a decent slide. They do have a pretty nice indoor lap pool which is cool. Nice basketball gym and a small but serviceable cardio area with bikes and dreadmills. Hadnt been there in years but the walls on the rink are a nice addition as well.

Beautiful facility, the outdoor rink is great and the lockers are clean and super cool.

Very expensive (55 a month) but given the veriety of things available here it makes it worth it in my opinion. As a person who frequently climbs and sets routes for other gyms however a complaint I have is that while the climbing wall is decent, the routes on it are subpar. The setters could definitely do a better job.

I am a neighbour and frequent user of this splendid facility. Mostly I show up at six in the morning when you open your doors. The one draw back, which to me is huge, is the obstreperous cacophony spewed out by the speakers above the central court. It can hardly be called music. There are many people who like me are seniors. We go to do our exercises and go home, most of us are polite, friendly and we do not interfere with others. A lot of us suffer from the same complaint: When there is a class in the big court, the music is unnecessarily loud and offensive to anyones sensitivity.

Wish the hours were later, and Kidkare could be open more hours as well. Hard to get a workout in with the kids in tow!

Pricey, but good. Not really ok with paying for plain naan, whatever, fit this valley is good
