Interesting displays here. There is a little bit of everything from toys through the ages, period firearms, clothing, taxidermy and even a Iron Lung! I visited here on Tuesday, July 21, 2020. My great uncles actual uniform is on display down stairs. He was a bomber during WWII and was KIA. So it was neat to seem family history on display in a museum.
Directly off the highway, and next to a gas station, this place is a great excuse to get out and stretch on a long drive. Its cute, educational, and takes you through a mini time warp from dinosaurs to the towns late history. Lots of historical relics, interesting news clippings and descriptions, and a couple interactive exhibits for kids. Best is its FREE and locally run. I was glad I noticed the sign as we passed it.
What a cool place. So many varied displays. Be sure to go downstairs, to the old street with shop windows displaying everything from old fashioned ladies clothes to a complete replica of a dentists office. Also wander outside, those displays are not to be missed also.
A clean, well laid out Historical Museum about Dawson County, Montana. Tons of written information in well kept and documented 4 drawer filing cabinets in the front room as well as lots of loose documents elsewhere. The Director was most helpful and knew who to recommend I follow up with.
A small place but very interesting to visit.
Great variety and was fun talking with folks working there.
Nice little museum. 2 levels of very interesting articles that show some US history. Truly enjoyed the hour spent there. The outside back exhibits are worth looking as well.
Free museum (donation encouraged) that has displays from dawn of history through modern day, all with a local Montana and Glendive spin. Dino bones reproductions, actual fossils, rooms decorated like various offices and public spaces of early 1900s (a childs playroom around Christmas in mid-20th century was my favorite. The iron-lung and the stories from the news about the ailment was heartbreaking & interesting. Definitely worth a 1/2hr to hr of your time.
I love this place. Lots of interesting stuff. Had a great time.
Amazing would recommend, dont go to the dinosaur museum next door, crazy religious people are there
What a great place to stop. Lots of cool stuff to see.
