Cool place! Has some ramps and platforms for dogs to use.....not that any dog uses them, lets be real. The only dogs that know how to use those are the well trained dogs.....not normally at dog parks lol....anyway this place has a ton of human seats that are covered, so you can stay out of the sun. The only down side is that there is a lot of random concrete that can become dangerous for a running dog.

I would give zero stars if I could. This is the closest dog park to me (only a mile away from my house and every other dog park is at least 8 miles away). This is the second time I have tried to come to this dog park and there is a LOCK ON THE GATE! What gives??? Says the hours are 6 am to 10pm well it’s 5 pm on a Thursday and there is a lock on the gate. I honestly don’t know how this dog park has any ratings considering it is NEVER open!

Its a dog park Large open space with high fences, tennis balls and chew toys. But people just let their dogs run in after yours without any words. My dog is friendly, but I dont know how my dog will act around yours?I understand its a dog park and all, but seriously. It would be my fault if your dog provoked mine or bit him. Its just dangerous.Remember to bring A LOT OF WATER. All the water fountains give out is boiling water. And there are no bathrooms (for humans, of course). There really needs to be a sign about the way to properly introduce dogs meeting for the first time.I had a panic attack when people starting letting their dogs run up to mine. Hes my service dog, my lifeline. If something happened I wouldnt be able to live a normal life!

It is the tale of two big dog parks. The eastern one is too small, over used and the grass is poorly maintained. The base is clay. They either overwater the grass right before it opens and the dogs tear it up. Or they dont water it and you have clay. The western side has the same watering schedule as the ball field and is larger. The small dog portions have good grass as both are connected to the ball parks system.

A lot of dogs, which could be fun but a few times there ended up being a skirmish which thankfully didnt involve my dog. People seemed to be clicky. Big disappointment was this place is either mostly dirt or dead grass, so when my dog lays down he obviously gets dirty. There are some shade places. There is running water. Large and small dog areas.

An absolute great dog park. Very well kept. They have lots of grass, shade , water and obstacle courses. Theres plenty of parking and wheelchair accessible spots as well. The park has three areas one for large dogs, one for small dogs and one that is close to the street. The other two are accessible behind the library.

This morning I went to the dog park and I fell in a hole that was not noticeable because of the grass. They close each side down every other month I feel like they could at least fill holes in. Right now I’m trying to nurse my ankle but I have a feeling I’m gonna have to get an X-Ray and pray it’s a bad sprain. Please take better care of the holes that dogs probably dig.

This is a great dog park for your furry friend! There’s so much running space for them and it’s divided up well for big dogs and small dogs. I will say however that if you have hairy dogs like mine (she’s a Westie) don’t go during the even months (February, April, June... etc) bc the dog area for the small dogs has stickers that get all in their hairs. Not fun to comb out! They alternate the dog parks each month. On the odd months that area has no stickers! We spent about 30 minutes combing our Westie’s hair and that was with 2 people working together! Our other dog which is a chihuahua/ jack mix didn’t have anything on him. Otherwise, great doggie park!

Was there with my sons 2 german shepards around 3:40p in afternoon. Saw that there was a lady, man, and son at very end of the green large dog area with a pug dog and big red, fawn doberman. Didnt think much about it so we entered but stay down close to entrance. My dogs did not go far, but all of sudden the dorman attacked one of my dogs. My dog seemed alright. The other people left shortly after that and said their dog had a tendency to rough play. After they had left, I notice my dog had some blood on his coat. Wasnt much but later , and $1400 later found out he had 2 puncture wounds close to his liver. PEOPLE...if your dog attacks another or says really rough, dont take them to a public park....and if you do, please offer you name and phone #. Thats the right thing to do!!!

This review is in regards to the DOG PARK ONLY. The moment I stepped foot near the gate I felt like my experience was not going to be good. The yard area was tiny. One log strip of grass with a few training tools. Most of the area was taken up by massive concrete benches for the people to sit. I felt this park was not initiating the play time between dog and owner but more of what makes the owner comfortable while watching their dog - much like a distant parent watching a 2 year old. I was disappointed in the set up- let alone there was mud everywhere from the buckets of drinking water. There needs to be more expansion to let the dogs run more freely, a more efficient drinking area to prevent mud accumulation and less concrete eye sores. A few benches with shade (think bus stop or park) would have been sufficient. The parks intention should have been beneficial to the dogs not the people. I think the whole intention of this park was backwards in the making.

Honestly, quite a few of the pet owners treat it like its a public restroom for there dogs. Size and amenities are alright. Having three sections for different size dogs is a plus. If pet owners are reading this, picking up after your pet is a respect for your pet and there play area. Pets are our children/family member and I personally would not let a member of my family play in p**p.

I have to say Im pretty disappointed, although this dog park looks nice, seems to have a lot of grassy area and shaded area, we have been unable to stay and play. I have two small dogs, and each time I have brought them over the small dog park area, the gate door has been chained and padlocked shut leaving only the play area with larger dogs. Neither one of my dogs have been to a dog park, nor are they used to being around large dogs, Im sure they are sweet, but to my little doxi and my little border terrier, theyre pretty intimidated. This trip I thought might be safe, coming during the middle of a work week, early afternoon, but nope.

Kind of out of the way for us as we live more towards the 21st ave and glendale dog park but we enjoy going to this one because it has agility equipment. The first time we went, the larger and more open large dog area was open. It was great because we were able to utilize the equpment there which is better than the other sides equipment. We even got other dogs following my girl while she did the course. The downside is the only grass in the bigger area is in a big square, leaving the rest of the park (equipment area) to be dirt / sand. It would be nice if it was grassy in all areas. There are quite a few dogs who really should be watched better as Ive had to break up stalking and aggression. Until theyre able to be trusted more, they really shouldnt be left to run while the owners have what i call tea time with other dog owners. The large (square) side has only been open twice all the times i have gone and i go once a month, sometimes twice. It has more grass in that area and its nice to see that -however, the second side of the large dog area is like a long horse run - a hallway really. The equipment on that side is sub par for the larger dogs and being that the small dog area has nothing, they really oughta change it up and let the small dogs have that area so they can play and have equipment as well. One watering station and you have to walk a decent amount when you need to clean or refill a bucket. This means if your dog doesnt follow you, theyll be completely out of sight on that hallway side.I suggest adding another water spigot on that side thats easier to get to, letting the small pups have that hallway run area and leaving the square side for the big guys.

This picture looks nothing like the place. It was was filthy! I counted at least 10 plies of poop and didnt even make it to the opposite side, before I got my dogs and left. At one point, a dog running flung feces by stepping in it. The water containers were filthy and had about an inch of liquid in the bottom. When I asked a patron, were the water source was, they pointed to the opposite end of the run, and told me one was not working. The benches and concrete areas were filthy. There was just minimal amounts of grass patches, but mostly dirt and a large mud puddle. Ive been to at least a 12 dog parks in Phx. and Prescott, and Ive never written a review, but I felt someone needed to inform about this one! Disgusting!

Br
Review №77

The big dog parks here are very well maintained and extremely nice for dogs and people. There is plenty of shade in the big dog parks as well. Do not go here if you have a small dog however. There is no shade for the people on either side when sitting on the benches. In Arizona this is vital! The west side little dog park is completely falling apart. The benches are so rusted that the metal has been eaten away. The coating that they have on them is cracked so badly that you cant sit on them without your skin and clothes being ripped. The trash is always so full of dog poo that it really stinks horribly. These little dog sides are very small as well, unlike the big dog sides that are very large. There are many large holes in the fences that little dogs can get through. People have had to put rocks in these places to cover these holes. The lighting in all of the dog parks here is very very dim if the ballpark lights arent on. This park could be very nice if it was maintained. On to the people that frequent this dog park. Most are very rude and unless you are part of their clique. You will be very ignored and even given dirty looks. The dogs are ignored, therefore, poo is rarely picked up and dog fights are frequent. If you leave toys for others, absolutely do not count on them being there the next day. There are many people who think that it is fine for them to take their big dogs into the little dog parks. There are signs that clearly state which ones are for the little ones, however, no one is around to enforce this. This causes the grass to be very torn up and large holes dug.One more thing, look out for large coyotes, Javelinas, bats, and ants.I implore Glendale Parks and Rec to give this place a well deserved and needed makeover!!

Its a pretty good dog park, lots of space and grass, decent agility courses, consistent clean water, shaded benches at many locations, etc., but the people and dogs are hit or miss... People are usually good about cleaning up after their dogs, the people and dogs are often friendly, but lately a lot of people seem to be etiquette challenged.A few pointers: dont bring your known and consistently dog aggressive dog to a dog park and let him off leash, dont ignore it when your dog full on attacks another dog, dont bring your unvaccinated puppy, dont bring your small and delicate dog in the big dog section while there are big dogs playing roughly, dont barge onto the agility course with your little puppy while someone else is actually training on it, dont undermine someone when they give their own dog a command, and dont make comments about how someones dog isnt as pretty or whatever as the one you had 20 years ago. In other words, grow up and have some manners.

I would rate this place 5 because my dog loves it here, but today an irresponsible owner (Rose - Rosey *maybe dogs name) with a small cream colored herding dog took away 1 star. Even before getting in the gate her dog was up against the fence. Going in, the pup immediately pinned my dog to the ground. The owner ignored her pup and we had to leave because her dog would not stop agressively pinning mine. The ownwr dismissed it to the breed. (My advice - if you get a herding dog, buy sheep too - other peoples dogs dont need to be herded, thanks,)
