Many trails and many different levels of hiking. I did Mt. Lukens via Dusmore Canyon a 9.8 miles hike. The terrain is flat with loose rocks and mostly uphill, considered a hard hike. Not extremely crowded. Amazing views of the city.

Mt. Lukens is my go-to for a solid 10 mile hike. I prefer going up the Cresenta View trail even though its more difficult than Rim of the Valley. CV is slightly shorter and you have views 100% of the way up once you get to the mountain ascent portion. Theres also a nice windbreak at around mile 3 to sit and enjoy a snack/lunch or just catch your breath. I used to do the loop coming down ROTV, but lately Ive been doing only the Cresenta View as an out & back. Definitely a great workout and the views are pretty sweet not to mention youll run into very few, if any, people towards the top. The peacefulness is great therapy for me. The only reason I took off a star is for the radio tower farm at the top.... Kindve kills the out in nature vibe

A wonderful natural area with multiple trails for different abilities and length of time preferences. The landscape is gorgeous and views dramatic. Even when there are multiple cars in the parking lots the trails dont feel crowded.

Great trail. Excellent view. I will learn to mountain bike to the summit. A lot of people seem to use this trail as their go to trail. It is challenging, but very attainable also if you can spare 5-6 hrs.

Very rocky. Be prepared. Don’t recommend minimalist shoes unless you’ve been training for at least 6 months with them. Left is the loop. Right goes to the summit. Nice little stream at the beginning of the hike to the summit. Well maintained little area.

This park leading into the Angeles National Forest is great for a picnic or light walk. It leads into some great trails that go up into the mountains, and the feel is fresh, especially in the mornings. If you were looking for a peaceful place to enjoy a special region, this can be it. Have swell times here~.

Very nice park with a bit of history in it. Although I enjoyed my visit, I did notice some RVs and a junker car in a dirt lot connected to the parks entrance and it seemed a bit vagrancy like. Couple of rag tags approached me asking for a cigarette and I assumed they were the ones living in the RV or Junker car. Over all, nice visit, nice park and beautiful spread. Couple of trail heads to hike up the mountain and check out if youre interested in that.Enjoy!

This park has absolutely the most top-notch signage. From yoga poses to trail markers, this place has more to look at than just nature. But hey, the nature is pretty darn great too.Absolutely wonderful hike the last time I was here, coming up the slope through fog and drizzle. Is there any chance youre going to expand the park until its much much closer to my front door? Thatd be swell.

A friend and I visited spontaneously on a rare misty Saturday. Absolutely gorgeous (as was my friend). It felt like Scotland with the fog rolling down the mountain, and now I understand why theres a street called Dunsmore nearby. A great, hilly walk, lots of flora and fauna to see, and a real selling point for Glendale.

This park is beautiful and well maintained, mostly from the efforts of a small group of citizen volunteers and city park workers along with the company, Take a Hike. They offer various interpretive nature walks with experts such as herpetologists and geologists. There are campfire programs, and more. On site is a giant historical barn, and vineyard. Trails stretch up and into the Verdugo Mountains, offering spectacular views of the city below. Valleys and streams in winter and spring support wildlife. Keep you eyes open for mule deer.

I dont really go out into nature often. Im afraid of everything. This park though has such pretty views. It is my husbands favorite park to hike in these days. I went a couple of days after a rain and there were bubbling brooks and water sounds which were lovely. There are so many peaceful spots to discover and the mummy rock trail is a good one for people who arent nature people. I didnt find it scary at all.

Deukmejian is a great park this easy to get to from the 210 in the Tujunga / La Crescenta area. There are a couple short hikes near the park entrance that you can easily chain together into a nice hour long hike (e.g. start with the Vineyard trail, head up the main canyon trail to LMessanger and finish with one branch of the natural trail. Also a couple options for much longer hikes. Nice views looking down towards CA -2. Bring a hat during the day since there isnt much shade or wait until early evening when youll get some nice shadows.
