I’ve been to this theatre many times and it’s always a fun night. The plays are always top notch, the talent is on par with anything I’ve seen in bigger venues. They may not have the budget of the pantages but there’s a lot of great talent in the area so a place like this really benefits from it. And even with a smaller budget the shows look spectacular(see photos I stole from web). Seating is in the round, so the experience is very unique and immersive in a way I personally haven’t seen before. The venue has a comfortable atmosphere and a homemade charm. There are light concessions like soda and candy etc but my favorite are the cheese crisps. I strongly recommend this place for a good family night, a date or really any outing. Oh I also suggest seeing “A Christmas Carol” I’ve seen it every year for the last decade. Always a treat. Plus you can hit up Damon’s or “The Great White Hut” before or after if you want a bite or something.

This was my first time going to the Glendale Center Theater. Absolutely loved it! Its so small and quaint. Theres not a bad seat in the house. The stage is actually in the middle and the seating wraps all the way around it. We saw the production of Bright Star. I had seen it before in a larger venue. The cast here at Glendale Center Theater did a very good job! Thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely come back! The venue is located right next door to Portos Bakery ... cant get much better than this!

Excellent low cost professional plays and musicals. Theater in the round. Clear close view from any seat. Family run theater for over 75 years. I highly recommend going there. They also have shows for children on weekend mornings. They have an acting and singing school.

I have been going to this theatre since I was a small child with my great grandparents and I have even been privileged to work there and go full circle in becoming a part of the family. I have been a season ticket holder since I was in high school I inherited my ticket from my great grandmother after she passed. I’m now 30 and look forward every time to coming to this place that makes you feel “at home”! Welcoming and inviting.We make it a family affair as we have an entire row of us that goes to every show! I also made sure that I brought my grandmothers cast of Godspell to see GCT version of Godspell and they said it was the best quality theatre they have seen in a small space and the actors were FANTASTIC!!!!I thank you GCT for still doing AWESOME shows from (for me) the 90s to the present and also keeping the arts alive and making Family Time become a thing of the future not the past!You have been my home from childhood to adulthood!

We absolutely love this theater. It’s so intimate, every single seat is good. Our children have fallen in love with theater because of seeing shows here. The summer theater camp is amazing. Our daughter had more fun with it than any other activity she has done. We’re lucky to have such a great place with so much history, and genuine, nice community right here in our neighborhood.

Just saw Annie earlier today with my wife. SO exceptional. I am super-curious as to how the director got those kids to be SO comfortable in their roles. Kudos to casting and choreography. Of course the adults were great too!! You will not see a cast of kids (and adults!) better than this.

So much fun for the whole family or for a great night out leaving the kids with a sitter. Every seat is close to the stage, seasoned actors, great plays and musicals .

The plays are always excellent. Costumes are amazing and sets for this small theatre in the round are a wonder. It is a family oriented theatre so you never wonder if the performances will be inappropriate. Awesome entertainment!

I love the theater, I cant stand the con artist that took it over. If u donated to the GoFundMe, ask for your money back. That woman furloughed peoples pay to put more aside for the bathrooms that she never intended to put in. Thousands of dollars have mysteriously disappeared and the claim is repairs. She bullied her ex until he gave control to the money hungry monster, and now shes going to sell it out from under her sons. I hope a real person with real interests in the Arts will take it. And I hope she gets arrested for embezzlement

I’ve been coming to the theatre for almost 10 Years April of 2020 will be 10 years since I started coming to the theatre. I was 10. I’m gonna be 20 in April. I’ve had some of my best memories at the theatre over the past almost 10 years now and I love everything about the theatre. Cute theater. They offered beverages and candy/snacks. Polite staff. The show started on time. The performance was really fun and I was entertained the whole time. Restrooms seemed well maintained but were upstairs, and I dont know if there was an elevator for those who cannot wall stairs.

I love the way you can see from any seat in the house. . Annie the best! The cast superb! Such good dancers and choreography too. Totally entertaining.

Saw Elvis today. I cannot say with all honesty that I ever saw Elvis live but today I saw him. I was certainly amazed at the music the band played and the excellent performance by Elvis. This is a culture that many will never see again and if your a younger age please take the time to go and see this masterpiece. You will leave feeling great. Love this place for sure.

Love this theatre in the round. Talented players. Cost is reasonable. Especially if you are a season ticket holder. My wife and I have been coming here for over ten years. Their annual production of A Christmas Carol is fantastic!

This review is after attending a production of The Pirates of Penzance, March 2019.Glendale Centre Theater is a joy to attend. This was the first production I have seen here and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The family which owns the theatre is clearly dedicated to it by passing it from one generation to the next (which they spoke about during the introduction). All well wishes to them.The lobby is decorated nicely and marks the history of the theater. It is well established and has done numerous productions - something you can see clearly from the amount of regular patrons.For this production, I really enjoyed all the actors in the roles of characters I love. They did a wonderful job.Set design was done very well considering this is a theatre in the round stage. Lighting and sound was awesome. I couldnt see or hear any mistakes during the show (albeit its been a few years since I was involved in theater), and Im sure it had to do with how fun the show was to watch. Costumes were also done well, especially the daughters dresses.Overall, I think youll have a wonderful time with any show they produce here. I am intent on going again.

Aging but fun theater-in-the-round. Modern online ticketing for most events. Parking in surface lot next door or on street. Fairly small so all seats are close to the stage.

Great intimate theater! My sister and I took my Mom to see West Side Story and it was fantastic! Although the set area was small, it was made up by the tremendous acting! Youre seated kind of in a circle so its pretty cool to have the actors/actresses right in the center. Theyre very close if you sit all the way down or on the side of the stairs. Altogether, I loved the show here and will definitely be back!

Always family friendly plays. Childrens matinees plays on Saturdays. Its a theater in the round, so no seat is a bad seat, 7-9 rows up, some seats on stage floor. There are stairs, but if you are disabled, contact the theater for same floor instructions at the back entrance.

I saw the best rendition of Annie. They do incredible plays so enjoyable & u can see anywhere u sit. Very professional.

Beautiful place, wonderful shows. One improvement would be to add the date and time of the show that you purchased your tickets for otherwise its a lost cause. Other than that, its a beautiful, intimate and spectacular theater.

Always an amazing adventure. I myself am handicapped and dont get out much and coming here is so worth the trip. We hold season tickets to the shows and come when we can. I highly recommend this theater.

This is a Great Local Theater in Glendale. My wife and I went to see A Christmas Carol Play. We absolutely loved it!!! Its a small theater, but that means your sort of up close and personal. The cast was amazing, the acting excellent.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!

I donated candy wrappers to a poor kid in the play and he thanked me lol and the cookies were epic

The play that I went and saw (marry popins) it was fun though the Songs where not all the same as the classic Disney movie; Most notably the Toy song.The down side was the theater is small and did have some seating issues. The theater only dose reserved seating for the first 2 Fridays of each show. The up side was the serves even after I was gone and writing this revue was exceptional. The play my not have been the best in my opinion but the service is 5 stars.

Really cool mini Ampatheater style set up with the stage in the center with all the props and cast. Really cool on how they transition scenes by lowering the lights and having a narrator to draw your attention

A sweet little theater, we saw West Side Story here for a music tour. It was really good. Good seating, and an up close experience w/ the actors and actresses.

The building is old, but the layout works well for watching theatre live. There was a line for the ladies facilities (no surprise), but they accommodate the crowd well. And it was clean! The chairs were semi-comfortable. You have to stand up for people to pass.

My wife and I had a great time! The play was great and the performance was stellar! But... this review is really for Alex; the man at the concession stand. He was absolutely brilliant! Nice, accommodating and the customer service? Wow. My pregnant wife wanted some candy before the show and so I went to grab her some and Alex had informed me their card reader had gone down and they could only accept cash. Seeing as how its 2018, I had no cash on me. I let him know my situation and asked him if the was a liquor store I could run to? He quickly responded with, I got it. I thought, are you giving it to me for free? No Alex said, I have the 2 bucks it cost and Ill just buy you and your wife the candy. I was taken back. Wow. I didnt expect that and he definitely didnt have to but let me tell you - Thats kind of customer service that is next level! Thank you, Alex and Thank you GCT! #giveAlexaraise

Whether its comedy, romance, or suspense you will be thourghly engrossed in every scene. Sit by the aisle and you might even be a part of the scene! Honestly, nothing compares to the enthralling environment of a theater in the round. Its the epitome of bliss in simplicity.Bonus: the location gives you a great reason to stop by Portos. A very nice Theatre on the round. Great performances and a varied selection of plays and musicals go through this theater. It is a small theatre and the seating can be a little cramped, but once the show starts you usually forget about that. Concessions are just so so.It is a nice and not too expensive place to enjoy a show in Glendale, CA.

Lots of change going on with staff and casting. Quality suffered a bit this year during my yearly traditional Christmas Carol outing. Hopefully things will transition slowly back to their former glory.

They have been a mainstay of performing arts in Glendale for decades. I admit, maybe 15 years or so ago, I left during Annies intermission. The new GCT however has produced consistently good shows. I have enjoyed many and dont hesitate to recommend this incarnation.

With the implementation of Assigned seating, I now enjoy going to the Americana Movies because I hate the wait. This is a great way to for everyone to buy their tickets and seats in advance. The popcorn is always fresh and the ambiance and the interior design is fantastic.

I was taken back by the Producers Notes on the back page of the Annie program, and the comments about Tim. Its as if theres family dirty laundry being shared to publicly shame him. I will think twice before going back there.

Went last night to see Man With the Pointed Toes. They did a great job! Fun and comfortable. Small theatre-in-the-round where every seat close to the action. They said theyve been in business 65 years. Audience was also older. Seats werent filled, surprising. Perhaps they dont do lots of advertising? Had a great time!

Have been going there since a child, Van Natta surname, and still enjoy our Saturday Date Nights watching a real life play with acting and music! Also, we have donated many costumes to the prop shop and so fun seeing them being used!

We saw Footloose on Friday night, September 29th and it was great! The theatre company has earned a rep for having the most into-it actors, and I finally got to see it for myself. Will definitely go see another upcoming show!Parking was $5 but its literally next door so you dont have to walk far. The neighborhood is a little dark but its just one street over from a main street.The theatre building itself was quaint, with a cozy little seating area on the front patio, and the stage was street-level with the seats rising in a round about it. About 100 plush, comfy red velvet chairs for the auditorium, with a quaint, old-fashioned lobby. I didnt see the restrooms but I assume they were as well-kept and cozy as the rest of the place.

They strive to put on Good Quality performances -and are almost ALWAYS successful at delivering an evening of entertainment that rates Above My Expectations.A theater where the audience is close enough to the actors to be able to read the subtile expressions on their faces.And the ticket price is really reasonable, (An added bargain if youve bought season ticket package. )I really enjoy my nights out at the Glendale Centre Theatre.

Clean nice friendship crew and close to home

I have been taken to Glendale Centre Theatre since I was a kid by my family, and my mom was taken there when she was a kid. This is, by far, one of my favorite theatres of all time. I love going to plays and musicals there. Yesterday afternoon, I went with a couple friends, my mom, and one of my friends mom to see The Marvelous Wonderettes. What a delightful show. The four girls in it were just so entertaining, and absolutely incredible with as much music that they had to learn for that show. There was not a weak link in the bunch. A standout for me, though, was an actress by the name of Kate Ponzio. They all had incredible voices, but she had perfect comedic timing, and my friend noticed that she was more conscientious of her microphone that they were all supposed to be singing into. And I just love a person who can sing in different vocal levels, but especially one who can belt it out when needed. She is that. I believe that they just have today and next weekend remaining of this show, so hurry up! Go see it! If you dont get a chance to see this show, go there to see a show there soon. I have never seen a bad show there. They always put on excellent productions! On the practical side of the theatre, it is an arena theatre, so there is not a bad seat in the house, especially since all actors in shows there are directed to move around a lot, so that everyone can see them. We just discovered that the parking structure on the SE corner of California and Orange, down the street from the theatre, across the street from Sears, will take validated tickets from the theatre, only charging you $1. So, dont forget to take your parking ticket with you to the theatre to get it validated.
