Free entry, very interesting, good air conditioning, not too big, probably 20-60 minutes depending on how much time you spend reading all the exhibits. This place is great. If you have any interest in early American commerce, the ocean, or South Carolinas role in the early (1700s on) lumber industry, it is the place to visit.
Incredible history in the town. Great museum, lots of changing exhibits and activities.
Amazing place if going to Georgetown, no charge but takes donations. FANTASTICE history
I cant say enough about the Maritime Museum and how much I appreciate & respect what it provides to our Historic little Town. They host the Annual Wooden Boat Show. It gives Georgetownians an event to look forward to each year. It helps boost our economy by bringing Exhibitors, tourists, and locals together to enjoy the show and while they are here they soend money in our stores and restaurants. I entered my boat this year in the Classic Inboard category. I have a 70 year old Commercial Fishing Vessel that is a working shrimp boat. I didnt win but I had a great time. My boat was Exhibit # 663 F/V Lady Karen. #ladykaren #captjody #myladykarenshrimp #mygeorgetown #shrimplife

Helpful friendly staff. Handicap accessible. Has an elevator to the second floor. They have alot of interesting nautical artifacts from the various local wrecks. Real nice scale models of those ships. Videos of the retrieval of some of those artifacts. All in all a good look at a chunk of local history. The museum is on the historic waterfront. Easy walking distance to the Georgetown County Museum and the Rice Museum. Surrounded by shops and great restaurants. An excellent way to spend a day
