The food sales were all over and the one Swedish singing group I just finished when I came in. I did get an ice cream cone. But the Viking exhibit was open. The Viking ship was built in Norway and 12 sailors sailed it across the Atlantic through the Great Lakes to Chicago for the Worlds Fair of 1893. It is well worth your time to look at it and hear the story about it.

Ive been here twice for an event called Cottages in the Woods which takes place around the beginning of the holiday season. When I attended in 2015 I thought it was adorable and whimsical. When I went in 2016 a lot of the cottages smelled moldy and closed up. Due to my allergies, I was unable to enjoy the event and likely wont return in the future.

Charming woodland setting. Especially enjoy Cottages in the Woods every fall, tramping from cottage to cottage to shop for handcrafted items from skilled artisans.

Lots of fun! They have a great woods walking trail, the Swedish festival is always good lots to see and eat and majority of items for sale are handcrafted and made by the seller!! Your kids will love the bell and mail box to santa dont forget to stop by the Viking ship a fun time for the whole family.

A lovely wooded area with 60+ acres of soccer fields, camping cottages and tranquility not far from the hustle & bustle of suburban Chicago life. Swedish Days in June & Cottages in the Woods in November are great opportunities to get a close up look of what GTP life is like, from May-October each year (when the campground cottages are open)

What a fun place to go! The cabins are adorable and they had activities for our kids. We felt like we were on vacation!

This is a great piece of green clearly beneficial to the community. As a performer, Ive enjoyed playing music under the pavilion on a couple occasions and truly appreciated it.
