A beautiful old theater building; Ive been there many times for live music and movies. Movie tickets are very cheap, and you can actually afford a bag of popcorn without taking out a loan. The live music shows they have occasionally have included some well known performers. Very friendly staff, first floor (main level) is handicapped accessible; however, the bar (beer and wine) is on a lower level. I dont know if there is an elevator to provide wheelchair users a way to get there, Ill look next time.

An absolutely gorgeous historical venue that serves as an upscale location for numerous events-- including graduation ceremonies, ballets, plays, and much more.Seating is well accommodating as there is orchestra and balcony options (no second floor wheel-chair accessibility, as far as I can recall). The comfortable movie-theater style seating is a plus. The location of the Smith Opera House itself is located on a quaint side-street in Geneva, offering opportunities to shop, to grab a bite to eat, or to take photos.

The Smith Opera House was incredible. The place was very clean and they are doing a lot of renovations to the inside of the building. The things that they have done so far have only made a great venue even better. If you have the opportunity to attend a function at this location, I would strongly recommend it.

It was a beautiful place but management wise, it was terrible. The help was terribly un prepared for the amount of people that were there to be taken care of.Im not trying to be critical but honest.A third grader could have done better.I ve been in management and the level of service was almost thought of as perhaps someone playing a joke on the crowd.I know this place could be great but not whoever was managing it this last weekend.

The sound for the Bruce Hornsby show was very disappointing. Muddy opening act sound prevented hearing lyrics, and he was a talented solo act. When BH came out it was still mush for the first 30 minutes. Way too much low end and excessive low midrange. The best parts were with acoustic trios. Those sounds were actually crisp. The opera house is amazing venue. Just gorgeous and Ive seen other shows thst had great sound, like Clair Lynch.

Wonderful theater for a concert, movie, musical or play. Huge screen can project the performers, etc. in the background. The seats are comfortable and angled down so everyone can see. For at least some performances there are not seats assigned, so get there early. Lines sometimes form outside on sidewalk. At least some bathrooms are located down stairs. There is a snack bar and bar. Located near by are other bars and restaurants. This theater is beautiful and has a nice variety of events.

There are a few venues in the arts world where the venue itself is a great part of any show held there. Carnegie Hall, Royal Albert Hall, The Metropolitan Opera. Little Geneva, N.Y. has one of its own. From the moment you walk into the Smith Opera House you feel as if you enter both another era and another dimension. From the stars twinkling in its ceiling, to the baroque furnishings, the 1,300-seat facility exudes history. And it has some unique history. From the first public speeches of the Suffragette Movement to the last little-venue appearances of greats like Bruce Springsteen, many of the greats have played here. And Itzhak Perlman, the great violinist, honored this old houses acoustics as being among the best in the world. One of the few times I ever heard my own music come back to me with perfect clarity, he said. And with newer seats and now added air-conditioning, this is a great place to visit -- even if it just a showing of an old classic on the biggest silver screen in this region. Grab a show.
