The trails were nicely kept, and we cant wait to go back and enjoy the nature playground! The only thing that kept me from giving 5s were the trail intersections. They could have been more clearly marked with directions. But its amazing and we will be frequent visitors!

We visited this park for the first time this past weekend and fell in love! It is beautiful! Lots of little trails, paved and unpaved. Very lush! I cant wait for the playgrounds and programs to open back up so we can take our daughter. The paved trail goes over to Lake Benson as well. Another first visit for us! Lots of fun and learning opportunities!

My daughters love nature and all its wonders. On our nature walk we encountered a doe and a fawn. We picked grapes, scuppernong in particular. We didnt eat them though. I wasnt too sure about eating them. We saw what might be a walnut tree. We also enjoyed the beautiful smells of flowers. Unfortunately the mosquitoes are out in numbers, so make sure you bring repellent with you.

We adore White Deer Park and frequent it more than any other park in Garner. The walking trails are nice for exploring nature, the NatureCenter provides lots of information and exposes our family to a variety of wildlife, and the playgrounds are fun. We have been disappointed lately with the lack of play equipment on the natural side, but look forward to what they will replace it with. Really hoping for another natural play structure since we can find plastic and metal at all the surrounding parks. Happy Birthday White Deer! We look forward to celebrating many more!

I love walking at this park. Wide paved path throughout. Very scenic and it goes around the shaded playground , past 4 pavilions, past the Nature center , and past the sewage treatment station ( only bad part is the smell sometimes) . It also has a trail that goes to the YMCA . It also connects to Lake Benson .

Had our wedding here. The A/C broke the day before! Katie the Park Manager called us immediately and let us know. She was so awesome and reasonable about the whole thing. She was able to pull some strings and get it fixed which was awesome (turned out to be the hottest day in Sept!). Good people, good place. Highly recommend.

The two diverse sides of the park I think are what make it so great. The Nature side where the playground is like playing in the forest with a tree fort and the other side (not sure what is referred to as). With the climbing spiderwebs and the cool modern merry go round. My kids seem to like the nature side the best. It is a must for them To go see poppy the snake every visit. Both kids have had birthdays out there in the Nature center and in one of the shelters. The greenway is a nice quick walk and if you pay attention to the edge of the woods, you will see hiking trails. They are not used much so be prepared to walk through spider webs. The park staff has been great to us and we quite enjoy our visits.

Nice park with plenty of walking trails (one trail is part of the Garner Greenway) and playgrounds. I enjoyed taking my daughter through the small nature center. It has a few live animals on display (turtles, frogs, and a snake), and there is a nice balcony area overlooking the woods with rocking chairs (sorry, forgot to take pictures). The big playground area has swings, slides, and big open field with trails around it.

One of my favorite places to walk with my husband because it is well shaded. Bathrooms are usually clean. I like that you can see their conservation efforts at work and that they use permaculture principals. Great for smaller children but only if you keep a very close eye as there are some dangerous areas that are not closed off. Great sheltered areas and wonderful place to walk your dog. I always feel safe there. It would be nice if more local events were hosted there especially for the older kids.

My son (2.5) loves playing on the natural playground at White Deer and so do the kids in our moms group. The structure is fun to climb and hes comfortable climbing it without me right on top of him. The sand box is his favorite as are the swings. There is a huge slide that goes down the side of the hill and kids play among the trees building bridges from hill to hill and making forts. There is also a bathroom nearby and the nature center has a few animals to see. There are also multiple trails paved and natural as well as a covered picnic area. On a nice day we bring lunch and spend hours at the park.
