Premature park thats just a field, looks like a hurricane killed all the plants, crappie roads.

The ocean half is closed this fall and the estuary side is nice depending on tides. The dry camping has nice sunsets. You can put kayaks in at 2 locations. (Nice ramps)

Just beautiful came from Wisconsin just for Galvenston. Blown away.

I’ve been to a lot of parks and trails along with camping. There is all that there but no climbing all flat, marshland.

Good place to kayak and wade fish. $5 charge per vehicle. So far Ive had good luck fishing here.

Two miles of well maintained hiking trails through the prairie and multiple canoe/kayak trails around the lake make this a must when you visit Galveston island. Also, a couple of nice, easily accessible observation decks on the trails.

Very beautiful. We did the nature class tour and it was very informative and educational, however the periods of time where we had to wait at each stop for the lessons proved too much for our little learners and we had to leave before we actually got to the water more than an hour into the tour.

Nice area to explore with the kids. Beach area was easy to access and the showers made cleaning up after a day at the beach easy.

Wasnt as exciting as I hoped. Galveston is flat.. obviously. Hiking isnt really a thing here. Plenty of trails but youre really just walking around in a circle on some grass. A controlled burn was done recently so maybe its more interesting once everything grows back but it felt like walking around in a field. Good facilities and looks like a great place to camp over night (tent or rv).

Amazing location (nature center) ask for Laura she is so Amazing and knowledge about everything in the area and works so good worth the kids. Go on the zombie hike, totally worth it for the kids they will learn so much and have so much fun.

Loved out stayed a week. Staff friendly gorgeous sunsets gorgeous sunrises.

Great kids programs. Dont miss the indoor bee hive in the bayside nature center.

Best place to hit the beach on the island.

We went on a beach combing day and had a great time. Ranger Lisa is an amazing tour guide.

We come here as often as possible. Just wish that the State would spend some money here and do the repairs that are needed.
