Such a magical place with a massive variety of flowers and a plants indigenous to the tropical Florida climate. Takes about 2-3 hours to tour the entire place if you like taking pictures like I do. Highly recommended if visiting the Gainesville area.

More of a park setting rather than a strong focus on botany. Beautiful to take a walk on the well maintained paths that lead through interesting areas such as a hummingbird garden, an herb garden and a children’s garden. A good place to slow down and unwind. Five stars because it offers a lot to see for only $10 admission.

Was a nice peaceful place to take the kids. They do have a little area for them to play. We fed the fish and had a nice walk. Only 4 stars cause they could do a little fixin up and it would be nice to have some picnic areas and restrooms out on the walk.

A very huge and clean botanical garden. Admission fee is $10. It has a nice gift shop as well. Except to spend around 2 hours there. It’s a really lovely walk, you get to see different plants. I wish they had more flowers tho. Overall a nice experience.

Beautiful botanical garden with a huge variety of flora, while still retaining the feel of North Central Florida. Well maintained and well laid out, the Garden has one of the largest Bamboo gardens in the South East. We will be returning now that we have discovered the Kanapaha Botanical Gardens so close to UF in Gainesville. Plenty of parking available, and very reasonable entrance fee. Proper social distancing observed and very courteous staff and visitors. This is a must visit attraction in the area.

First visit, few people today. Even though its late October there are lots of things to see! Many benches throughout to take a break if you need to. Wide variety of flowering plants, bamboo and palms and a couple of small waterfalls. Great way to spend the morning and well worth the admission price. Bring your quarters to feed the fish.

The staff was wonderful. Very helpful and cheerful. The grounds are amazing! I love the individual little gardens. The weather was perfect the day we went, Mothers Day. I look forward to returning and plan on getting season passes. I hope the bridge that was flooded out is accessible next time. It looked enchanting. There is even a childrens area.

Take a stroll through this beautiful place where you can see so many different kinds of plants its overwhelming. Ive never seen a banana plant before so I was pleasantly surprised. My favorite was the bamboo area by the herb garden. I loved standing in the middle, while the breeze blew through, hearing the clanking of the branches hitting each other! It was so healing. The baby gator and the coy fish were a special treat. What a beautiful place. I will definitely be back.

Beautiful Botanical Gardens just off I-95. Easy place to socially distant. If youre visiting, bring your mosquito repellent. Its on a lake.

Sa
Review №25

This is a really nice place just make sure to check your expectations and bring bug repellent! There are some really lovely areas--especially the bamboo forest and by the bigger waterfall. Some parts feel more like a less-than-established community garden. Its clear there is no overall architecture to the plant life, its chopped up in several sections with varying degrees of effectiveness. I also say this as a non-gardener. If you are more of a home gardener yourself, you may find more here to enjoy than me. It was advised to me to do the west side (to the left) first because there is more shade on the loop side to the east. The west is where youll find the large lillypads and the bigger waterfall. To the east is the bamboo forest, a big sinkhole and other habitats to walk through on a sidewalk. There are lots and lots of gazebos everywhere and in general they make great spots for a photo shoot.

Review №42

The staff was friendly so I must give credit there first. The gardens however is basically a bunch of poorly maintained palm trees and sink holes with a lot of bamboo around. Gift shop was very small and restrooms were not clean as well. Not sure if it is because of Covid or not, but there didnt appear to be any way to purchase and kind of refreshments either.Easy to get lost or wander off the path into maintenance areas due to lack of signage and proper pathways. The parts of the gardens that are truly well done and worth seeing is less than 10% of the property. Honestly most of the property is just empty grass areas or overgrown trees. Constantly dodging vines and spider webs that have grown into the pathways was not enjoyable. If you have $10 to spare and an empty afternoon I suggest using it elsewhere sadly.

I love botanical gardens!!With that said, dont feel like there was much varieties of different species. Lots of the same ones over and over, lilies, calleria, etc.I think that for the price of 2 adults and 1 small child, it was a little on the expensive side, as its not really big. What was amazing were the gigantic Lili pads. Totally worth the price if not for anything else, just for those. Gorgeous!!Make sure you take your mosquito spray, youre going to need it.

A beautiful place. Weve gone to their spring festival every year for the last 3 years and its a great event to spend your afternoon at every time! Beautiful flowers and all sorts of vendors. The food trucks are so soooooo good! This time we were even able to get some olive wood kitchen items which was a super find! Youll even find art and jewelry vendors there. All in all, is great! And even when theres not a festival its a beautiful garden to walk through, very big.
