Like an indoor playground for kids. Four year old absolutely loved the place spent over 6 hours there without getting bored. Easily could have occupied another day there if needed. I gather some of the areas/simulations change over time, so depending on when you go there may be slight variations from the pictures posted. Some of the areas have more appeal than others. Top rated ones would probably be the construction area, hospital, clubhouse, train, and pirate room. Obviously this facility has been there for a while, so parts may seem dated, but the kids dont mind or notice and it seems to be kept clean. I was surprised by how low traffic was even on a Saturday during a holiday weekend. Seemed to get busier closer to lunch and thereafter. Its a great relief from the heat during summer and plenty of places for adults to sit or stand to monitor your kids nearby. The creators of this place put a lot of thought and effort into this place for kids, and its really a hidden gem. A lot to stimulate the minds and imagination of youngsters.

I have been 3 times always great food and service

We went with my daughters kindergarten class and the kids loved it! All the staff were (kid) friendly and helpful (& patient with moms obsessed with capturing every shot). In addition to all the play stations, they had a little class where they got to make their own clay pot. Id advise parents to wear their walking shoes. Kids are able to freely explore the main area and drag mom right along behind them. Nice and cute open air courtyard that looks like itd be nice for a picnic lunch, although we didnt eat there. Our daughter has already started asking to go back.

This was a great place for the kids. We took a 7month, 4yrs and 5 yrs old. Heck we even joined in in the 70s, and had a great time. Went to black forest pizza. Greatest pizza in the world.

My 5 year old had a blast. My 7 year old found several things he enjoyed too, especially the snow exhibit.

I am an older adult and I went to a six year olds birthday party. Another child was having a party at the same time. The activity room was packed but the kids were engaged and they all had something to do. There is plenty of room for the adults to stand around and talk. The staff was friendly and helpful.There werent enough little chairs for both groups to have cake at the same time and some kids had to sit on the floor. It was really nice to have a glass wall in that room because parents were able to watch their kids without being in the room with them. This helped tremendously with the crowding issue.

I loved this place and my boys did too. Its smaller then other children museums Ive been too in different states but that being said the price is much cheaper. I actually found this place on groupon and got a great deal! I found out they even have a volunteer program where you can earn a family membership to here and entrance to 350 other participating locations along with discount prices to the McWayne center after meeting the required volunteered hours. I havent signed up yet but I plan to later down the line. Ive done this when I lived in Charleston SC and these types of programs are really amazing. We were thinking of having my sons 3rd birthday here 2 weeks ago but figured well wait another year or two. Their packages are very reasonable. Needless to say well be returning for sure.

Most of the stuff to play with was old and nasty, I was not happy about that. The grocery store was cute. Some of the toys with buttons didnt work. With a little work it could be amazing.

Very cute and great for kids 3-12. Some older kids may feel like its too little for them. But my 5yo loves it and wants to go every weekend.

Havent been here in a very long time, but I loved going as a child. It was always a lot of fun so I think it is a great place to bring your child for a day to play.

Kids had a great time! Just wish the play area was regulated better. Had kids everywhere. Some that shared and others that were very selfish.

8$ per person. This is a fun place to bring the kids. There are drink and snack machines that take cards. There is a model railroad, an activity center, and an interactive zone. There is a little courtyard that attaches to the Gadsden museum of art which is free to enter.

Its cute, but the equipment is old and worn out, the toys and accessories have obviously never been washed, and there are nails and screws sticking out of poorly maintained activity stations.

I will not be coming back. Most of the items were old and broke. The play clothes and puppets looked very dirty. The play clothes need to be washed. It probably was really nice when first opened but it has not been kept up.
