On a sunny 70 degree Saturday they have one person working the counter. Waited in line for 20 minutes until I finally left. It’s an Arcis course so good luck getting on the driving range or getting a decent tee time. Very poorly managed. The course itself is just ok. Wide fairways. They don’t overly protect the greens. No marshals so a bit of chaos at hole 1 usually and after you turn onto 10 there is always a new foursome there waiting to slow you down. Feels like a city course. Golf is frustrating enough without lack of management adding to it.

After not golfing orc swinging clubs for almost 20 years, I cleaned up a used set of clubs and went out to the Plantation Golf Club to try to hit a bucket of balls.I ended up hitting a large bucket of balls, about 70 of them. I worked with my 6 iron, 7 iron, and 2 wood. I had to remember the mechanics and pay attention to my swing and the ball impact, all while taking in the sight of beautiful grass and sound of club heads sending range balls yards away. All in all, I will go back. Im hooked again.

Terrible course. Staff is unprofessional, rude, and arrogant. They let people fish on the course while your golfing, I had someone fishing grab my ball and throw it in the water yelling at me on the back 9 hole, par 3: was maybe 12 or 13 amongst some houses by a school, for almost hitting them when they were right in front of the green. Near same hole I had someone try and sell me drinks from there house. Power lines and places poorly maintained. Save your money, plenty of other better courses out there to go to where you’ll be treated better.

Decent course, but lack of maintaining it kind of throws it off. Needs to roll the greens especially. Also, dont book 7am tee times and show up at 7am to open. Sat in the parking lot for 40 min waiting cause it said open at 6:30am on Google. So 0 warm up slow and overwatered greens, no water on course cause of COVID, I get it, but no cart girl on a Saturday morning either? Not worth more than $40

After reading some of the negative reviews, I felt I needed to write my own review. Anyone who says the course is terrible doesnt know what they are talking about. This is a good, fun course, and for the price it cannot be beat! It is relatively short, but water runs throughout, so you have to be strategic on some holes and not hit driver.I have lived in the neighborhood surrounding the course since 2007, and like most neighborhoods that are 25+ years old, there are people who take care of their place and those who dont. That is evident from playing golf and seeing all the yards. Yes, there are some dirt spots, but this is not a country club. The course is well-maintained and has plenty of grass. Sheesh. And yes, the driving range has mats you have to use ON WEEKDAYS because of the traffic. If they let everyone hit off the ground every day, there would not be a spot with grass to hit off of. You hit off the ground on the weekends. The course actually spent a lot of money doubling (it looked like) the size of the driving range tee. There is also a nice chipping area, and practice bunker. The food is typical pro shop food (e.g. burgers, breakfast sandwiches, etc.), and it is very good. And I have never played anywhere close to a 6-hour round there. That is ridiculous. Yes the course backs up sometimes because it is very popular (they must be doing SOMETHING right).I love this course and hope it is around forever.

FYI if you have 5-6hrs to play a round this is the place for you. They run groups every 7 min so it backs up from the start and never opens up. Talked to the Marshall and he explained it’s just stacked. No you have 3 groups of 1 person playing and didn’t group anyone is a problem in basic course management. Marshall talked to each group and still wouldn’t group them together. Cart girls are gross and will not be playing here again!

Review №47

My worst golf experience in a year. For a public course on a nice enough Sunday you expect some waiting, maybe a 5 hr round with all the inexperienced players out. But this pushed 6 hrs until I had to finally give up! Par 3 Tees had backed up three groups waiting to hit, pushing 20 minute waits between holes. No momentum can be built in anyone’s game with waits like that. No rangers on the entire course to be seen. We had a twosome in front of us playing 3 balls each with no clue. The course should have managed time and flow, not leave it to golfers to get in fights with all the drunks uninterested in being courteous. The course itself was in mediocre shape, hard-fast greens to be expected this time of year in Dallas area, but fairways had hardpan mud in many spots. The course itself is in an older development that is quite depressing. Sidewalks cracked and very bumpy cart rides banging clubs everywhere. The carts themselves are filled with what smells like two stroke oil fuel and riding behind my partners was like breathing in leaf blower exhaust. Truly inexcusable that they don’t have electric eco friendly carts. Close the place down and save people some money, time, and frustration.

This place use to be great but going down hill. They removed the GPS from carts, have fewer staff so no cart person anymore, no water out on holes but yet have to purchase theres? Course is still good but all the small things that made it great are now gone. Also on top of them removing all the small perks they increased the price. I will just now go to other courses and this one has lost me and my weekly game. I am disappointed but since they have now gone corporate things are just about money and no longer about the game. Please be prepared for a 6 hour round now, since they over book players and dont keep up with pace of play it has caused so many people to play that are shooting 110+ in groups of 4 and dont allow players to play through. I shoot in low 80s and was stuck behind a 4 some that would not allow me to play through and the manager said to skip the hole then or leave. It seems they are more worried about putting people on course for money. Now I am not against players that are needing improvement playing but they need to follow the rules and allow players to play through instead of hacking up the fairway, not filling in divots, twisting feet on greens and causing damage then getting upset when we ask to play through. Any group that takes 25 minutes to play a par 3 when they had no waiting shouldnt be allowed to hold everyone else up.

No rangers on the course, get ready for a 6 hour round. Pace of play is not enforced and therefore the course attracts hackers that play slow. We had a lot of rain this Spring so the fairways are still in pretty good shape. Most of the greens still good shape, but a couple in direct sunlike drying out. Evens the playing field between big hitters and ball placers. Refurbishing the driving range so they are making necessary changes to stay competitive in this saturated golf course area.

Review №67

This review would be one star except I had fairly decent customer service due to a buddy showing up late and the clubhouse staff accommodating us by driving him out to the 3rd hole and then letting us play 1 and 2 after we finished 18. Thats where the good things end.We have not had significant rain in many days, yet there were numerous, large muddy areas near the greens and elsewhere. The tee boxes are very rounded and were very firm. Tough to get a tee into in many cases. The bunkers are horrible! Either wet with very dense, packed sand, gravelly, or overgrown with grass. Very poor compared to other courses.Used one on-course bathroom. Toilet was broken.Zero sand in sand bottles on cart, and zero sand bottles at sand refill station after the turn.Cart girl, if thats what she was, was a middle-aged woman sitting in the cart parked just past the 9th green. Did not drive the course.Greens were not great. Still recovering from poa annua. Also, the greens themselves are the most boring and flat of any course Ive played, including Lake Park.Fairways did not look well watered, the mow job was pretty weak, the cart paths have many areas in disrepair, and the spillway is cracked in several places.Cost for a prime time round on a Saturday was $54. That is frankly ridiculous given the conditions of this course. This course, with these conditions, should be priced the same as Lake Park, which is only $36 for weekend prime time.ARCIS, the company managing this course, and Lake Park, used to manage our course here in Carrollton. In my opinion, ARCIS did a very poor job running our course and their management contract was not renewed. ARCIS now appears to be facilitating the demise of this Frisco amenity which could be so much better. I highly recommend Friscos city council and citizens take back their course and find a new management company. One place to look is Pecan Hollow, a Plano municipal golf course that is not too far away. They are doing it right over there.

I own a property that backs onto this golf course. Their trees are so overgrown that no sunlight can penetrate through and all of my grass is dead. My husband contacted Austin Fernandez in person, explained to him that I was about to carry out some renovations and was going to re-sod my backyard. I asked for his help by arranging to trim his trees so sunlight could fall on the new grass. He told me no problem, it should take no more than a week to 10 days. Believing him, I laid sod. I followed up a week after with an email. No response. A phone message. No response. Another phone message. No response. Another email. No response. Another voicemail. No response. Yesterday, August 4th, my husband visited in person again but Mr. Fernandez was too busy to meet with me, his manager (name unknown) was too busy to meet with me and the employee at the golf shop offered me the phone number of the maintenance guy who does the tree trimming. This place sucks. Do not play golf here!

I mean it is ALWAYS busy, which from a monetary standpoint is great, but it si SOOOOOO SLOOOOOW! I havent played it in years, but Im sure it is still the same. Ive read the most recent reviews on here and in my opinion they are inaccurate. For the price, this is one of the best courses in the North Dallas/Frisco area. $30 all day on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a full 18 hole course cant be matched by any other courses in the area. Dont let the price fool you either.....this isnt a goat ranch. The greens are kept in great shape and they just redid all the bunkers. Now they are full of rich sand to trap those arrant shots.Yes, the course is flat but 95% of the courses in this area are as well. The course is mostly surrounded by houses which can lead to a cramped feel at times but I wouldnt say it takes anything away from the beauty of this course. There are multiple holes where youre driving or hitting over water. As a previous reviewer mentioned, it can get crowded at times but I wouldnt describe the wait as out of the ordinary. It is a major metropolitan area with tons of people wanting to play golf. Any course in the area on Friday, Saturday and Sunday is going to be crowded. FYI, Tuesdays and Thursdays are really only crowded for the really early tee times. Just a couple of weeks ago I set a 9:30 tee time and we didnt have anyone in front or behind us.So to recap, value wise I dont think you can find a better course in the area. Fun little course hidden in the heart of Frisco. Several shots over water or greens with water on 3 sides can challenge veteran golfers. Several fairly straight par 4s makes this course fun for beginners as well. Keep an eye out on idealgolfer and you can sometimes find coupons to play for $30 on the weekends.

Had a 3:23 tee time with just me and my brother. Teed off at 4:00 after waiting on 4 groups at the first hole. From my first experience playing this course I was very disappointed. It took nearly 2 hours to get to hole 4!It was overbooked. No Warden. No oversight.Too many kids playing. After calling the clubhouse we were told it was ok to skip 2 groups ahead and pair up with a 2some, in fact it helped the people behind us speed up as the 2some was very far ahead: unfortunately the 2some did not want to play with us and we decided we would hit hole 4 and then call it a day. Thats when we were approached by a guy from first group we skipped. The guy approached us and insulted me and my friend. He called us Aholes and we were the reason why everything was slow, he also was threatening us.This is a guy who had hit 2-3 mulligans on the first 2 holes. He also sent 3 balls into the neighborhood next to the tee box. He was out of line. It was also ironic that he spent 5-10 minutes angry which made the group behind him wait. This is why you need a warden at all times! After making our way towards the clubhouse we found out why it was so slow: a group of 6 kids were playing, 4 were walking the course and 2 were in a cart. They allowed walking on the weekend! They were nice enough to give me a rain check, although I feel I should have gotten my money back. Also want the player from the group in front of us that teed off on Sunday 6/5/16 right before I teed off at 3:23 to be banned from that course. He and his son were in that group. Ban them please!
