Played 12/4/20. Aside from two great holes along the lakefront (7&8), this course is average suburban golf in almost every way.The course was in solid shape for winter. Greens were pretty quick and rolled true.Design / layout, aside from 7&8, is a bit dull. Houses line both sides of most holes. The course is quite forgiving off the tee, with large fairways and a few smaller trees.Overall, I’d play it again, it’s a correctly priced neighborhood golf course.

Frisco Lakes Golf club is my favorite course in Frisco. This course has a fun layout with some very unique holes. The front desk is courteous and a pleasure to talk to. The price for play is a great deal considering how pristine the course is. The fairways are some of the best in north Texas. Go play this 5-star course!

I took my friends here for a golf outing, and it was probably the worst experience I have had ever.First the staff checking in, I believe the manager of the club house or main lead on Sunday morning was just rude. He wasn’t very friendly, he didn’t greet pleasantly and he just me me feel like I didn’t belong there. Also during the round we got told to leave Because we joined our groups. We did keep up with the pace, the Marshall said himself we were playing faster as 6 vs a group of 4 in front of us that we were waiting on multiple times. When the Marshall told us to break up we did, then the club house told the Marshall to kick us off. We called from course to the clubhouse and they wouldn’t answer our calls. We finally drove back to the club house, the same rude gentlemen that definitely lacked customer service and communication skills was there to speak to us. Not one person was in the club house but he stated he was too busy to answer the phone. Then after arguing with the guy and trying to explain to him we did comply he told us to go back and finish our round. This created groups that we had to cut in front of very angry and we heard lots of foul language towards us from other groups. However, the Marshall and clubhouse did not kick off other groups for this rash behavior towards us. We were a group of south Asians and definitely felt like we treated unequally because of the color of our skin.At the end of it all it took us over 5 hours to finish our round. I would never ever recommend this course to anyone and I would also tell you that unfair treatment is practiced here at a regular.Oh and one other thing, we had one of our people in our group drop a phone in the course, when he realized he dropped it on the course he went back to get it. He was met in the middle of the fairway by another group who thought it was ok to curse at him and chase him down threatening to attack him. We told this to the Marshall and he said they are acting rudely with him as well. But the clubhouse thought it was ok to keep them on the course.

The course is nice, the layout is challenging, but not crazy, and the chipping green is finally open again. The one negative is that it is in a retirement community and it is open to the public, so you will often run into slow play. Ive never seen it unbearable, but a couple of times its gotten a bit frustrating.

Extremely rude staff. Chipping greens been closed for about 6 months. No holes on the practice putting greens. We were asked to leave for playing in a group of 6 even though it sped up the pace for everyone. Had to drive to the clubhouse to clear it up since no one picked up when we called. When we broke up it slowed down the pace so much for everyone behind us we were asked to play in the group of 6 again. The whole thing took 45 minutes and it ended up being a 5 hour round. Also I’ve seen some reviews calling out discrimination by the staff towards people of color. Definitely felt this.

Im updating my review now that I got a chance to play the course. They were flexible in allowing me to bring a second person even after the Golf Now service they use for booking was completely terrible. The course was in great shape and we had a great time on the round. I would give 5 stars if they didnt use Golf Now as their forced booking service for tee times.

A bad neighbor as a golf course management team. The areas behind several houses have a blocked view of the course. This is due to over grown weeds, dead trees, branches on the ground, tall undergrowth, low wet areas harboring mosquitoes, rats are having a party. I sent three emails to the GM, no response. Residents paid a premium for GC lots, a total waste of money. Often rough areas look like a hay field.

This is a beautiful golf course, but a very rude staff. Aside from a Marshall who is was extremely friendly, the staff is very rude every time we go there. Me and my brother in law have played this course 3xs and because of the staff I would say there are plenty of other places to golf. First time staff was extremely rude. we tried to order food and they said there chef never showed up.Yesterday was our last time playing this course. Booked a tee time at 5pm and they stated we had to start on back 9 no problem! Get there marshal was extremely nice and funny. it wasnt but one whole in when we got stuck behind a 4 person scramble we managed to make it with 3 holes remaining and at 7:45 were told to take the golf carts back to the clubhouse and that we are not permitted to play. Poor course management. if they dont want you to play, do not have tee times available. there was no discount given and it was still daylight. plenty of other courses with friendly staff, which is a shame cause the course is very beautiful. I have booked later tee times at cowboys golf course and plantation and have managed to get a full 18 in no problem.

Played on FL Golf Course 5/19/2020. The greens on holes 1 through 6 are about 25% grass and 75% sand. My best guess is the damage is from a major nematode infestation where the bugs are eating the root system. The greens on holes 1 through 6 are the worst I’ve played on in my lifetime. The remaining greens are better than the first 6 holes, but at best I would consider the greens on holes 7 through 18 to be in poor to below average condition. It is unfortunate, because the rest of the course is in good condition. The course is attempting to cure the green problem by patching and aeration, but it will be sometime before the greens get back in decent shape. I highly recommend you call and ask about the condition of the greens before playing.

I’ve played this course multiple times but it had been 2 years prior to playing it on 5/5. The course should have been closed. That’s how bad the greens were. They were the worst greens I’ve eve played on and I’ve played in some bad ones. They were half dead, shaggy and appeared to be recently aerated. The ball bounced every direction while attempting to putt. There was no warning given to us about this and we paid full price. I would have left after 9 holes but I had driven 40 minutes to play there. I brought a friend of mine to play and it was his first time that day. I had raved about the course to him prior to playing but was embarrassed by the condition of the greens. I can’t imagine ever going back to the course again. It used to be one of my favorite tracks in DFW. Not anymore.

Well, I’ve played this course probably over 30 times. And I understand the pandemic situation. First of all, I called to ensure we could all drive carts either together or separately. I was told yes. Showed up and two of us had to walk. Ok, could use the exercise. The course is a goat pasture. Hasn’t been watered at all. The greens, typically great on this course, unbelievably bad. It will take 60 days for this course to be what is should be. AND, ridiculously, they charged $70 to play this horrible course!?!?! So sad.

I recently played there on May 6 with my brother and nephew. Id played once before and really like the design of our course. However, the greens were in horrible shape. In fact, they were so bad I felt like asking for a refund. I called the pro shop the next day and they told me they are having a problem with nematodes and that the treatment process is underway but the greens will not be back in good shape until late June or early July. We will have to see. Since I live in the Frisco Lakes Del Webb community, I will be monitoring the condition of the greens and not play again until they are back in shape. Until then, the pricing is much too high and will be playing at other local courses.

I play golf at Frisco Lakes regularly. I enjoy the golf course but there have been many occasions where the staff in the pro shop have been very unfriendly, many times not even saying one word to us...we walk in the door and they just look at us and wait for us to talk. Then no thank you when we are done paying...not a word. Its sometimes seems like we are more of a nuisance than a paying customer. Also, we have been very frustrated with the condition of the greens this spring. Weve played at other courses in the area where the greens are in very good shape but they have been pretty bad for the past several weeks here.

This has been a favorite of mine to play for several years. However, it will be at least 6 months before we return. While the tee boxes and fairways are in great shape, the greens are the worst I have seen in several years! The path to the pin is littered with bumps, patchiness, sand, and in some cases dont even bring your putter. Additionally, they have these little putting flags on each hole and you have no idea what the pin placement is. For what they charge, their superintendent should take more of an interest in this.

Played this course for the 1st time last weekend. The course itself is pretty good. I like the setup of the driving range, putting green, and chipping green. What I disliked was that the green fee did not include range balls. Guess Ive been spoiled at other places like Texas Star. Also, we only saw the cart girl once the entire 5 hour round(cart path only when we played so it was a slow round having to wait on every hole). Lastly, I went inside to the grill to get coffee before I started my round but they didnt have any. Overall, Id play there again but not at the green fee price I payed last Saturday.

Course was well maintained however multiple holes were undergoing repairs. Staff was friendly and helpful. My biggest complaint is the members or regulars that golf their. I say this because the gentlemen I am about to mention were in their own personal carts. My first time playing the course and I was hit on twice while standing on the green making a putt. The pace of play was rather slow yesterday so Im sure that was the reason for their lack of patience. However that does not excuse hitting a ball at someone. We were a twosome behind a foursome. The first group came and apologized for coming so close. We stopped for lunch and proceeded on to the back 9 where another group was now behind us. We were on a par 3 making our putts when these gentlemen decided to go ahead and hit at us. Their ball landed just off the green 6 ft from me. We had some choice words for them and they made sure to not even stand on the tee box again while we were in play. Not sure Id play here again. Seems the locals are more interested in being a holes than considerate golfers. I love the game but some courses seem to have more aggressive players than others and this one of them.

Review №70

My wife absolutely loves this golf course. I do not. We have both played it a lot, so you might wonder why the disagreement? Really whether or not you like it will depend on your game and expectations. My wife would tell you this is a really pretty course. Although it starts out in a neighborhood, the houses are nice enough and generally not in play. Theres quite a bit of water and a fair number of wooded areas surrounding many of the holes. If you dont mind hitting over water, there are some very pretty views. She would also tell you that the management and groundskeepers have done a great job of making this course nicer. A couple of years ago, the course was in extreme disrepair, with ragged bunkers that didnt drain and rough cart paths. The owners have worked hard to improve conditions since then. There are still a few bunkers that look like they belong on a neglected muni (e.g. the fairway on 18), but most have been fixed.Lastly, she would say that the people are nice, and that they work hard to make their course a nice place to play. I agree with that.So its a reasonably pretty course, and theyre working hard to improve conditions, and its run by friendly folks who want to do a good job. What dont I like about it? Quite a lot, actually:1) Pace of play can be an issue. My wife and I are both very fast players, but shes much more tolerant of slow play than I am. I havent seen much evidence that the marshals really police pace of play, but to be honest, Im not sure theres much they can do because...2) The rough is really high. If you miss the fairway on some holes (e.g. 9, 10, 13, 16) you better be paying very close attention to where your ball lands. You can lose it 5 feet off the fairway. Rough on those holes is often 2-3 high and very lush, even just off the fairway. Its really hard to find (your own) golf ball in this rough. Often on those holes you can find lots of lost golf balls just off the fairway while youre trying to find your own, which is evidence that Im not the only one who has this problem. Do you enjoy looking for golf balls? I do not.3) The price is unrealistically high. During the week I can play (for example) Bridlewood (as a member of their free loyalty club) for $29 with lunch and a beer. Even if youre not in the loyalty club, its less than $40 to play there during the week. Frisco Lakes is closer to $50 with no free lunch or beer during the week, and $70+ on weekends. Since Bridlewood is a nicer course, and generally in better condition, why would I play Frisco Lakes?4) Apparently they punch and sand the greens every time they are about to heal. No kidding. I know there much be some time when you can play there without punch marks, but I havent been lucky enough to find those times in the 10+ times Ive played here this year. Thats a shame, because in years past I can remember the greens being really nice. Just not any time this year.So Ill give Frisco Lakes an average rating, based on our family experience. My wife loves it. I really, really do not.

The overall demeanor of the staff/management is sloppy. After raining the day before, the entire course was soaked. This made it difficult to find dry enough ground to take relief. Upon arrival, the driving range was closed, and the course should have been closed also. They are too cheap to adequately notify their players that drive across town to play their course. I called the pro shop after 9 holes to tell them this, and the employee said ‘well what do you expect? It rained 4” which isn’t optimal on any course’ instead of apologizing or considering a partial refund for only playing 9 holes. Unless this changes, I will not return. To clarify, I am not complaining of damp ground, I am talking about ankle-deep puddles in the fairways, water-filled sand hazards, and mud splashing into your face each shot. The course was practically flooded.
