Great place with very patient folks. Kiddo wants Pokémon and I know nothing Bout the franchise. I ask one of several employees to teach me and show me what I want to get and they take the time to show me all the options and not just the most expensive stuff.Lots of space to play (when Covid goes away)

I came here with a friend of mine for my very first Magic: The Gathering tournament! Staff was very friendly and helpful and the tournament seemed well organized. They have a ton of products for your comics and gaming needs. Store is a little cramped and the tournament was forced to end early due to lack of time.

This review will be on the comic book section, staff, and store, I did not browse the TGC or board game sections.Great staff, extraordinarily clean store, ok amount of back issues, and a excellent selection of graphic novels and trade paperbacks.Staff was courteous, asked if I needed help without being overbearing about it, and the phone call beforehand was fast and simple.The store had no trash, no odor, and everything was organized properly.The back issue section was, ill be honest, a bit small, but the pricing more than made up for it.I also want to personally thank the staff that worked on the 4th

I randomly found Docs while I was out running errands and they have INSTANTLY become my go-to comic shop! Their customer service is next to none with their friendly and super knowledgeable staff.Admittedly, their game stock isnt as large as other bigger stores, but for their size, its impressive! As for comics, they order plenty of new releases. No need of worry about them running out. Also, their back issues dont go super far back, but since this is a store focused on newer books, its not much of an issue, pun absolutely intended.All in all, I wont stop shopping here any time soon!

Been here a couple of times, and I will definitely be coming back. The staff is extremely friendly, and assist you as soon as you walk in. I highly recommend visiting if youre into trading cards, comics, or board games!

I had a really bad experience with Docs the other day.I called beforehand to confirm that they had one of those Yu-Gi-Oh Lost Art Promo cards, The Dark Magician Girl, and when I went all the way up there the lady at the front desk confirmed that all I needed to do was to buy $30 worth of Yu-Gi-Oh product to get the card for my collection.It wasnt until AFTER I got done buying two of the 2020 Yu-Gi-Oh tins did she inform me that it was their store policy to randomly pick a card and give it to me. I tried to inform her that the only reason I spent $49 on Yu-Gi-Oh tins (which BTW the store marked up to $23.99, when everywhere else sells them at $20.00), was because thats what she said I had to do to get the card. When I asked for a refund because I didnt get what I was looking for, she said that All TCG purchases are final.Really awful situation, and I am really disappointed that I drove 40 minutes to the only Yu-Gi-Oh OTS store near me only to have them swindle me out of my money.

They do buy cards but at 10% market value. They do sell cards at triple the market value. They do have Pokémon stock but it’s only stuff no one wants. This is the worst LCG I have ever been to. I drove 30 minutes to find out the staff has no manners, no product knowledge, and no fair prices. Local card shops are supposed to have the best deals around, but this local shop will get zero support from me. I know of a shop in Haltom City who actually does have relevant product and good pricing.I was a firm believer in helping keep the local brick and mortar afloat but Docs is literally asking to go under. If you have 20x the profit margin on products that slowly sell, it’s much less profitable in the end than something properly priced being sold hourly. You must only be open this long because you have a wall dedicated to overpriced dice

Shady business practices. Went in to buy some dubwool boxes and they charged me $30 a box. Sent in my gf to get some more and they charged her $35 per box. Seems like you overcharge people who don’t know much about card prices and even then, $30 for a $20 box is way over priced let alone $35.Will definitely keep my distance from now on.

Good location for cards and accessories for MTG, Pokemon, DnD, and more. They also carry a limited but solid collection of comics and lore companions. Definitely worth stopping by, and outside of global pandemics they have Friday night magic and other competitive fun events.

Drove from san antonio for the Jason David Frank meet and greet. Friendly staff, cool comics and items.will definitely return next time when Im in Dallas.

Doc’s has come to be the go to place for players. The atmosphere is great and the employees are knowledgeable and friendly plus they treat you like a friend. I’ll be the first to admit I’m not easy to get along with but they are great. They hold different formats almost every night and the fact that they have root beer is a major bonus. They also don’t try to price gouge like a lot of places do. To me that shows integrity and the goes a long way. If you haven’t been give them a shot and tell them I sent ya.

This place is awesome! The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. They have sales all the time and have fan events and card tournaments and free comic book day in May is a must attend because they do a great job.

Its a lovely comic book and game shop. They host regular gaming sessions for a variety of games including DnD, Magic The Gathering, and more. Docs hosts campus for kids and gaming sessions for the tiger l younger set as well.

They had so many different comics and had a great sale for the holidays! Looked like a lot of people were having fun playing D&D too. Went there after seeing them on Leonharts channel and I wasnt disappointed!

This is what a comic store should be. Lots of tables for reading and game playing. ALL the latest releases. Even some hot issues that are sold out everywhere else. There are a few harsh reviews for either charging extra for variant covers or mean staff. If they are the ONLY store with them in stock, I dont mind paying an extra dollar. And as far as the staff is concerned... they are awesome! I was engaged with multiple staff that were up to speed on the latest stories and they knew their stuff. It was really fun going there. And at the end of the day, isnt that what going to a comic store is all about?

My sons and I have been to Docs a few times and they are always friendly, helpful, and patient. They have a great selection and the store is clean and nicely decorated.

I come here because not many comic places are around. They look at you like something is wrong with you for showing up like why are you even here?! when you walk in. Very bad attitude and not welcoming. When someone greets you it is polite to greet them back. In particular the dude with the beard, but for the most part all are this way. Pride before the fall. Arrogance gets no one anywhere. You can ride high one day and have nothing tomorrow; with that said treat your customers with respect and appreciate them; you may not always have this place.

Really cool comic book store!! I recently moved to North Texas and theres a lack of comic book stores where I live. I was missing my Bedrock City Comics in Houston. Docs was a fun place with really friendly employees!! Cool bathroom also!! Definitely will be back!!

Hey Friends,Well I do a lot of business with all of the card and comic stores in town. I finally made my way over to Docs Comics and Games, to see if we had a future in potential business. I spoke to them over the phone to see what their interests would be, they told me comics and magic the gathering cards. They do not have enough money to give me cash so they can only offer me store credit which was okay. Since I have so much I only brought a little of what I had and when I say alittle I mean a large stack of comic books and a tub of magic the gathering cards. Understand since I do this for a living I already did my research and knew what I had. The girl look for my comic books and said she did not want any of them as they would be back stock and they were going to have a sale coming up, so I dont know why she told me to bring in comic books if there were already overwhelmed. Now coming to the magic cards oh, I brought in my entire tub of magic cards and the gentleman who looks are my cards only skim through them briefly and picked out two cards out of over 5000, and said he can give me a dollar a piece and on the whole collection which he wanted he said he can give me $2 a foot and told me they were only worth pennies. Im speechless and I do not like dishonesty or being lied to. I knew even if he said my cards were only worth $0.02 that was untrue because they were worth $0.20 - $0.30.Also knowing that I hid $10 to $30 cards in between. I did this for a reason to see if they were reputable it will give me a fair and honest offer. I would not bring your cards Comics or anything you want to sell to this location nor would I want to do business with these people ever again. I hear it is a fun place to play your tournaments oh, but I dont support businesses like this who are absolutely unfair with pricing. I live a distance and had to drive over an hour round trip to be given $2 when they could easily have given me half the value in store credit. Also if they dont have money to buy collections, they might want to rethink their business. This was a horrible experience but handled professionally by myself and a little too calmly by the employees. I do not recommend this store. If you have something to sell I will suggest you look up the value before you enter the store if thats where you decide to sell it.

Just recently got into comics so my husband took me here to find something to read. Super helpful staff, they have a good selection for newbies like me too. Definitely going to be spending more money here in the near future!

This is a great comic book store. Doc and his staff are very friendly. I have a 3 yr old daughter and they are super nice to her, and she loves going there. Very family friendly. Very knowledgeable staff. Go in once and tell Doc what you like and he will make sure you are taken care of every visit after. As my daughter says, This is MY comic book store.

This place is a complete joke. They are characterized by poor customer service and an inability to source popular games. I have tried to get several games from them and each time I am told their supplier cannot get the games. If I could give them less than one star, I would.

This is a good comic book store. Friendly employees who always say hi when I pop in and sometimes ask me if theres anything in particular Im looking for. The back issues seem to be priced by cover price, not jacked up, so that was great when I was missing an issue or two from the past year. Ill be back.

How much can I sell my first edition infinitrack anchor drill

This is our favorite spot for our table games. Doc is super friendly and helpful. He has provided a number of recommendations on games for the family and always steers us in the right direction. His end of year sale is the best. He is always our first stop in games, and if he doesnt have it on the shelf he can get it there quickly.

Really enjoyed the vast selection of everything Docs carries--each item suitable and enjoyable for all gamers, card players, readers, collectors, and hobbyists alike.There are even product supplies for organizing decks (ex: boxes, card sleeves, etc.) or a even colorful selection of dice of carrying sizes and colours--(I secretly want them all, but especially the cute micro-dice)!If you need something, the staff are super helpful in helping you locate what youre searching for. If they dont carry it in-store, they order it as requested. They also keep customers current and follow-up on new products.The store is clean, organized, and felt even homey & welcoming. Ill definitely be frequenting this establishment often!

Ive been coming to Docs since it opened; I started coming as it was the closest location where my stepsons and I could play Magic, and I continue coming, even now that the boys have moved on to other gaming interests, due to the friendliness of the staff and the gaming environment Doc has helped develop at his store. Both new players and experienced grinders seem to coexist quite well, at least from my experience.On the shopping side, if theres a game or comic title youre into, chances are theres someone on the staff whos into it as well that you can talk to; likewise, if youre on the hunt for a gift or looking for a new tabletop experience for family game night theyll be able to make a great recommendation.Other stores have popped up in the area (and closer to my house) since Docs has been open, but I continue to come here for the reasons listed above. I definitely recommend giving them the chance for your business also!

If you need to get your nerd on in Frisco, this is your best bet. Stores clean, staff is friendly, and theyve always got some sort of gaming tournament going on. The place may be a little cramped, but all the merch is nicely organized on the walls.

So this little gem is in Frisco and is much much needed in the northern part of the metroplex. They have a good variety of games accessories, toys and a decent list of comics. The staff is pretty cool and friendly. They all have their specialties so youll find someone to find you what youre looking for. They also have events galore. Check them out on Facebook and more importantly check them out in person.

These peeps know their stuff and have amazing customer service. I always have a good time here nerding out over the comics and collectibles.

Docs is undoubtedly the BEST local game store (LGS) in the area. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to talk nerdy about comics, card games, boardgames, collectibles, and anything else of which you could possibly think. Doc himself is laid-back, attentive, and constantly bending over backwards to craft a memorable customer experience. Ive attended some pre-launches, participated in several events, and hung out with friends, and Ive never, EVER had a bad experience. To make things even better, when it comes to selling old cards or collectibles, they are professional, fair, and even willing to give you 20% more for in-store credit. I love conversing with them, slinging cards with friends at their tables, and giving them my business. My husband and I were shopping for Christmas gifts for two of our nephews who are huge fans of DC&Marvel comics.. We have no clue on any of this so we were pretty intimidated when we walked in. The staff tho- made it super easy!!! I cant remember the gentlemans name that helped us but he was awesome!!! Long story short we walked out of there happy with our purchases and cant wait to see our kiddos faces when they open their gifts!!!Thanks Docs Crew!!!!

Cant beat the Pokemon prerelease events at Docs. They also have a wide variety of tabletop games you wont find elsewhere, many of which are available to play before you buy. A great place for adults and families alike!

Friday Night Magic is fun if you manage to avoid all the Tron players

The staff at this store are friendly and helpful, the play environment is pretty great, and most individual card prices are pretty reasonable. I have found from multiple trips that buying singles is a slow process here, and you can find yourself waiting for upwards of 10 minutes to get helped sometimes. Their trade-in value for single magic cards is pretty low too, with some standard format staples only getting 1/4th of their value even with store credit. I think Docs is a good place to buy and play, but they can be a bit slow. I highly recommend trading in your cards somewhere else.

First time visit for me and my son. Got him his first comic book and a toy. Huge selection and was offered help and greeted as soon as we walked in.

If you like comics, games, rpgs, or card collecting, Docs has it all and great atmosphere. You can go just to play if you would like to try something out and there are often events.

Cool shop. Limited space but they do good work with it and manage to get in a little of almost everything. They have a pretty decent Bones mini selection as well. Service was very friendly and helpful. Parking can be a PITA.

Overpriced went there to buy a box of cards that are charged for $65 (everywhere else) but I got there and charge me $89. Thats almost 30 dollars more then what the box should cost. Felt like I got ripped off at the end of the day.

Very clean and well maintained environment. Every commander night has at least a handful of pods, sometimes up to the double digits. Ive never really had a bad experience, so if youre a commander veteran or someone new, I really recommend giving this place a visit.Also, a very nice selection of board games.

This place is amazing! I went in there on a lunch break April of this year looking to learn more about Magic the Gathering and the staff stopped what they were doing to answer all of my questions. It wasnt just the staff, but Doc himself who greeted me on my first day in there and helped me find a love in Magic.I cant say enough about the staff and environment there. It is clean and well ran. Docs Comics and Games is where I have bought and will continue to buy all of my cards and accessories. I highly recommend you go check them out.

Docs has a great selection of comics and games as well as a knowledgeable and friendly staff - but thats not why Im reviewing them.Beyond anything else Docs is a store that is accepting and welcoming to everyone. All too often it is too easy to marginalize or trivialize a person or group of people. There is no room for bullying or hateful behavior here. More people need to be like Doc and his staff and say All who are welcoming are welcome here.

Theyve got a lot pretty neat stuff in there, and its definitely spacious compared to most comic book stores. I havent participated in any of their tournaments or events myself, but they seem to always have a good sized crowd participation for their events the few times Ive gone by. If youre looking for a place to get plugged into local tournaments, this would definitely be a good place to start.

I love this shop! The team is made up of people who love games and comics and they are eager and happy to share that knowledge with you.There can be lots of gatekeeping in table games and comics, but not at this shop. Doc has set it up so that anyone can come in and learn different games or figure out what comics to read to best get to know a new favorite character.They make sure tr o watch over games and keep the place welcoming and theres a lot of family-friendly events making it easy for parents to learn their kids obsession or to share with their kids the best of geek culture they grew up with themselves.Anyway, its a great shop with great staff. Often, if they dont carry something youre looking for, they can and will special order for you. Check out the game nights and any comics special events they host and youre sure to have fun!

Took my kids here to get some assistance with playing Pokémon correctly. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful with picking through the selection in the store. The prices were very fair. We even go back to play the board games and RPGs.

I go here for Magic the Gathering. This is a great small LGS that has tons of singles for all formats, including tournament Staples for standard, modern, legacy, and EDH. Theres even some bulk bins to sort through if you need those cheap cards to round out a set collection. They have a large array of sealed product as well if youd rather crack packs! They also stock lots of options for accessories including the newest sleeves.Docs runs some really great weekday tournaments with fantastic prize support. I highly recommend coming here to play.
