The Delaplaine arts center was a great experience. My husband and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary. We decided to visit Frederick Maryland and walk Carroll Creek and happened upon the arts center. It was a nice experience. The current exhibits were beautiful to look at. There was one exhibit in a glass box of a lighthouse made of mother of pearl was so unique and intriguing. Before leaving, my husband bought me a lovely earring and matching necklace pendant designed by O3M Designs at the Gift Gallery. I would encourage everyone to stop in and check it out.

What a hidden gem in downtown Frederick, Maryland. My husband threw a surprise birthday party for me and picked the perfect venue. It is not a huge ballroom but not too small either. The room was perfect for the amount of people there with a dance floor and room for a bar and dessert table. My husband said they were very easy to work with. The are located close to the Interstate with plenty of parking. Dont overlook this when planning any event, you will be missing out.

Helped my wife deliver artwork for sale in the gift shop. Checked out the staircase that had an industrial history of Frederick. Very interesting. Had seen the other staircase that has the history of the various art genres. Both are excellent and worth the time.

This is a free place to come see some beautiful art. They offer classes in a variety of forms for all ages. While I was there the staff was busy with a party, but they looked accomplished and helpful.

The Delaplaine was PERFECT for our wedding. Marilyn was a perfect contact: honest, dedicated, concise, and creative. She definitely dealt with my crazy ideas and requests and helped me execute. I really wanted to make sure all of our vendors were friendly and taken care of the day of and Marilyn knew and understood that naturally. The Delaplaine’s location on the creek in downtown Frederick has a wonderful reception space. It was so romantic and clean. For our ceremony we had the option of doing it in their indoor gallery or getting a permit for the creek. It was so nice to have a rain-option/plan b if we couldn’t do the ceremony outside. Anyway, Marilyn went above and beyond and I can’t thank her enough. If you want a wedding in Frederick, The Delaplaine should be a top contender. The space, what they offer, and their team, are a perfect combination.

What a great venue! We had both our ceremony and reception at the Delaplaine and they both were perfect! With the venue being an art museum, we didn’t need to do a lot of decorating as the art was the decor. Marilyn and her staff are pros... Marilyn has great attention to detail and very good recommendations. She supplied us with a list of vendors for everything we needed. She has a large choice of centerpiece supplies, which she is more than happy to share. She orchestrated the making of our centerpieces and they were beautiful! All her recommendations regarding lighting and set up for the reception were spot on. They made the experience so enjoyable and seamless. They made our day a memorable one for sure! We highly recommend this venue.

Very community oriented art place. Colorful and creative, but still aware of local history. Great for events like weddings and bar mitzvah. Has classes. Giant dusty wheels left over from the mill in the attic. Cute gift shop.

I started taking Intro Drawing & Painting for the first time in 2012 in a different city. I was excited to find the same classes at Delaplaine as well as a variety of others. The building & parking is easy to access, has a wonderful staff, and they hold many exciting events and exhibits throughout the year. The classes offered are very informative and challenging. Im excited to try alternate mediums & to learn from working Artists. My specific adult classes range in age from young adults to folks like me - young at heart (LOL).
