Epic is the only way to describe both the experience and the art. Shane and Kelly were professional, friendly, engaging, patient and kind from the first moment I reached out until my art was completed. Shane perfectly captured my vision and spirit and I cannot say enough good things. My ideas evolved throughout the creation of my tattoo and Shane intuitively adjusted to the design that took shape in my head. I have several other pieces and this was the best experience by far. I would recommend Shane and Sacred Arts to anyone who is looking for a deeply creative and rewarding experience.

Ive worked with Shane on two medium scale pieces on my back and were currently working on a sleeve. Hes an amazing artist, and very clean, professional, attentive, and reliable. He is always totally engaged in each project; designing and getting a tattoo with Shane truly feels like a team effort. He takes great care of clients, even providing written before and after care instructions to make sure youre prepared for the tattoo application and healing process. The studio space is private and has all the distractions you may need whether its an audio book, music, TV, movies, video games, or interesting conversation. Shane has dedicated a lot of thought and effort into making sure clients get a great all around tattoo experience and love their finished piece! I cant wait for my next session!

I’m not from NM. I found Sacred Arts through a coworker. Shane has since done a handful of tattoos for me in the last couple of years. His studio is unique, comfortable, clean and relaxing. More importantly, I appreciate Shane’s creativity. I send him an idea and he helps me flesh out the final product and placement. I’m always happy when I leave. He takes his art and the care of that art very seriously. You won’t find stencils here. It’s all hand drawn awesomeness, so be sure you know what you want before you go.

Where to even begin with how much I love Sacred Arts and how grateful I am to have been recommended to Shane??!! I first came to SA for a small tattoo with a couple of my closest friends this Summer and was impressed with the superbly clean environment, the comfort of the studio and above all, Shanes unparalleled artistic talent and technique. My previous pieces have been drawn by the tattoo artist, photo copied on transfer paper, then stenciled with the tattoo gun. Shane free-handed my tattoo with a sharpie and it was absolutely perfect - so impressive!! He took the time to talk with me about exactly how I wanted it to look, aligned it with the shape of my body and ensured I loved the size, design and placement before starting the tattoo. His touch is so light I barely felt the needle and the healing process had ZERO scabbing. I trusted Shane implicitly after this first piece and consulted with him to cover up of two pieces that I have had for over a decade and never really loved. His vision was beyond my wildest dreams and I now am obsessed with the process of transforming my rib piece into something that actually fits my body, follows the natural lines and is meaningful to me. We are 2 sessions into this project and I am loving the process. Shane explains everything along the way from what to expect at each stage of the piece (it is currently WAY darker than the finished product will be, but since I knew this was part of the process I was not surprised) to the details of what he is doing in the moment when you cannot see where he is working. Not many people can make 11 and 9 hour sessions fly by, but Shane most certainly does. I truly cannot say enough about how much I love Sacred Arts and highly recommend anyone looking to add a piece of art or transform an existing piece to consult with Shane! Also, Kelly is a total rock star and coordinates his schedule like a boss!! She has worked me in for full days when cancellations pop-up and is always so personable and kind!!

If you want an extremely high quality hand drawn tattoo done by a truly amazing human Shane is answer. He reminds me of that movie limitless.

I love that Shane is dedicated to his client. He wasnt checking his phone, people werent popping in and out all day, and wasnt taking a zillion smoke breaks like every single tattoo artist and shop in town. He included me in every step of the process. He hand drew every piece on my body so that it flowed with my shape instead of placing it somewhere it didnt belong and looked funny later. Its a very quiet and clean spot. He has music and/or Netflix available. I felt very relaxed (as relaxed as you can with needles continuslouly jabbing your skin) and comfortable. Highly recommend Shane.

Shane was the perfect choice for a cover up tattoo. Each session Shane put his all into his work. His creativity and his attention to detail paid off big, couldn’t be happier with how it came out. Would definitely go to Shane for all my tattoo work in the future. As far as price you get what you pay for, the tattoo I covered up was $100 with no depth or layering. Shane will customize whatever your heart desires and the amount of detail he is capable of doing goes as far as you are willing to pay for the time. On top of that, he is a chill guy and his conversations were insightful. His private studio is clean and very comfortable. Thanks Shane for the awesome Aztec calendar, no more yeti!

Really professional! The artist and his employees are all very nice, enthusiastic and welcoming. The experience felt like they try to make your experience very personalized and customized. I would totally recommend this tattoo place. His art work is very detailed and amazing. Very clean environment, not cluttered and all around a place Id want to go. You may pay a little more than other places but honestly to me its worth it for quality.

Super talented artist, knows what hes doing, educates clients on the right way to take care of their new tats. Ive had several tats done before by other people and never knew until going to Shane how to take care of a healing tattoo. Best artist Ive been to out of at least 4 others. I would totally recommend him! The cost is totally worth it! :)

Short version: Id come back here again. Thats about the best compliment I can give Shane and his studio.I decided to wait a few months after my last session to write something, mainly to be out of the new excitement phase. Shane is both an excellent technician and artist. I gave him some guidance, and set him off to create. 40+ hours later (ink and design time), and I have my first tattoo. No regrets. I love this piece. Everyone who sees it also love it (even those that dont normally like tattoos).As it was my first tattoo experience, its worth mentioning a few additional things. Shane is very responsive to the individual, both with interaction and with content creation. He creates a very pleasant environment. The studio is organized, hygienic, and just has a good vibe. The tattoo process is nice mix of calm and excitement. We shared plenty of interesting deep-though conversations as well as just chilled to music as he worked. During my tattoo, he had his new apprentice (Fox/Jo) in to observe and learn. It was a real treat to hear Shane explain and teach her the finer points of the art. Jo produces some really cool art, so looking forward to her developing her tattooing talent.

I went to Shane for my first tattoo and it was an amazing experience. Shanes work space is clean and very comfortable to be in. Through the entire process Shane answered every question I had and I had plenty. You can tell that he cares a lot about his work and that passion makes the tattoo process fun and exciting. I am already planning to get my second piece done by Shane. I would recommend him to everyone I know who is interested in getting a tattoo.

Shane Acuff did my fifth tattoo. It was the best experience Ive ever had. Most places will take your idea pull up a generic photo on a computer make a copy and stick it on your body. Not Shane!! You give him an idea and he does research and drawings and then he free hands the tattoo on you. Its custom to you and your body. He does a great job of making sure youre doing ok and is always offering a break or a sucker! I highly recommend SA:Design, Art & Tattoo. The atmosphere is relaxed and amazing and I have hopefully found my lifetime tattoo artist!!! Run dont walk to get stabbed by Shane!!!

My experience with Shane at SA was the best tattoo experience Ive had so far. He was really nice, fun to be around, and cared about us and his work. My sister and I came in and got matching tattoos in the same day. Shane did an incredible job and really took care of us.
