Not sure how to review this park as it is just a nice place to enjoy the river. Rent a kayak or take a guided boat tour of the area. Ample parking. Nice bike and or walking trail, paved.

Nice big dock to fish on or go down there and chill and watch the river. They have kayaks to rent. Plenty of parking. They have walking and biking trails. I’d highly recommend you to check this place out if you come to Frankfort. They have to benches on the dock. A few trees that over hang the dock for some natural shade.

Took a Kentucky river tour today. Very informative and the Captain was amazing. Very friendly and viator friendly. Has lots of knowledge of Kentucky river and surrounding area history. Plan a trip and enjoy!

Great little riverside park area located in downtown near everything.

The boat ride was very informative and our guide Joe, KSU staff was the greatest. He explained how ths river was formed, how erosion and trash affects the river life and what things we can do to help keep our river be clean, navigable and a source of water, recreation and beauty. Thank you.

Its Frankfort, what can I say? You get a good view of the Kentucky River. When the season starts, a farmers market pops up for a few months. I have bought some real good radishes there. A pedestrian bridge can take you to the other side of the river where there is another park with trees and another bridge (more for sitting down on a bench and having a smoke; I think that one side of it is fenced-in, i.e., cannot go across).

Very nice discovery while vacationing. My wife and I were up early in the morning and decided to go for a walk and came upon it. We had it all to ourselves.

Basically, there are 2 places to park. Its a sidewalk running beside the river. Theres a floating boat dock and amphitheater. It goes under 4 bridges. Level, easy walking with good views. Also some art sculptures. They extended the trail but I have been told it isnt worth the walk. You can kill an hour here with the kids or just sit and relax.

This is a really nice park to go chill at for awhile, bike riding, or walk your dog. Theres a large pavilion on one end right by the river, a Gazebo just a bit down by tall walls of amazing murals, and a market place pavilion above the west end parking lot. Theres also free WiFi and a boat/fishing dock. Only complaint is bad porta-potties and no lighting so its closed at dark.

Wonderful stroll or bike ride. Driver-side walk/bike trail, well maintained. Very nice slice of downtown Frankfort!

I visited the Franklin County Farmers Market. I think my favorite thing I got was the sour dough bread. It is very soft. I like to make avocado toast with it. Also, the chocolate chip zucchini cookies and strawberry jam are delicious. Sometimes they have music, chef demonstrations, and events for the kids. Its one of the best things to happen to Frankfort.

It was a beautiful night to be on the river. Food was great as always. The 2 piece band had a great sound and played alot of different music.

Went on boat ride. Had problems with our reservation--it was lost. Need to improve the process and notifications. Sad that some.folks didnt get to go on the ride.The boat was clean. Crew was nice.

Great place to run, walk, ride bikes, enjoy nature. When in town we always roll the bike path. Surfaces are very nice and would even be good for rollerblades.

Nice place to take a scenic walk. They have plaques which you can read and learn a little history and information about the Kentucky river. Farmers market sets up near by. They also have a music festival here very once in a while.

You should make sure that your walk includes the Gardens at Liberty Hall. This is a wonderful stroll for families with small children, especially those that like to ride in a stroller.

Was there last weekend and it is awesome!!! Took a morning walk in the park and absolutely fell in love with the mural...the art that has music that you can sit in and listen to the different types of poems and music..met some really nice people in the park...will definitely go there again

River View Park is a good place to take a walk. It has a paved walking/jogging trail that provides nice views of the Kentucky River in Frankfort. It has good parking, and Ive never had trouble finding a parking spot. Id recommend River View Park for anyone looking for a nice walk or jog in Frankfort.

There isnt much to this park. The trail is short. There is just a few weird looking sculptures, benches and over glorified small structures.Bland and boring!!

River View Park is a scenic urban park stretching along the East bank of the Kentucky River in downtown Frankfort, Kentucky. Its located a short distance upstream (South) of historic Lock and Dam #4. This portion of the river is navigable downstream to the Ohio River and points beyond during summer and fall. For more information about navigation contact the Kentucky River Authority.This a rather large park offering many features. The park is located on the historic site of Franks Ford, from which the name of the town, Frankfort, is believed to have originated. Various informational signs depict local history and significant features of the park.The park offers opportunities for walking, running, swimming, fishing, picnics, nature appreciation, relaxation and outdoor activities. It features a large floating dock providing moorage for numerous vessels. There are open grass covered areas and large mature trees.No athletic fields and no playground equipment are provided. The park is not lighted and is closed to the public during darkness.Dogs are permitted, with the requirement that their owners clean up after them.Ample paved parking is free.A portable toilet on site was not maintained and was not usable when we visited in late February, 2018.Facilities include paved paths, numerous benches, picnic tables, cooking grills and trash recepticles.The entire park is wheelchair accessible.PLEASE BE AWARE, THE RIVER CAN BE DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY FOR YOUNG CHILDREN!
