Delightful place to visit and learn about Fortunas early days. Great park to have lunch in,walk your dog,let kids play and even roller skate at the skating rink. All right across park road from the Depot.
This is an interesting mixture of history. Not a whole lot of train info but so many other great things to enjoy.
Love these historical places. My son is a huge fan of trains and they have a caboose right out front!
Nice place, interesting but wish it was more of a guided tour
Looks very authentic. We just peeked in he windows and checked out an old train car outside the museum. Limited hours, but a real gem to stretch your legs and walk into a little vision of the past.
Well maintained, lots of choices for souvenirs, great helpful staff, good prices.
If you are ever in Fortuna and you like trains, this is the place to see! They have a wonderful display of train history.
Such A neat place to explore. Full of history, from pictures, clothes, dolls, huge barbed wire display collection, all FUHS & East High Yearbooks going back decades, logging equipment, train equipment, house hold items, and local history books galore! Plus there is an old time caboose to explore complete with benches, desk, ice box, water closet and balcony. Check out local train travel the old fashioned way!
Me, I am a museum lover. I like to learn about other peoples lives and where they lived. How life was lived in those areas and those who made the area what it is today.
The people were very knowledgeable & seemed to love telling the stories behind the items. Very friendly. Heart breaking about the fire, though
