We really enjoyed our day here at the museum. The staff is exceptionally nice and helpful. One of our favorite things was the feeding and petting of sting rays (they don’t sting!). There is a cool globe shaped screen called “Science on a Sphere” that illustrates climate, airliner flights, hurricanes, etc, that is intriguing. We watched 3 short 3D movies that were interesting. There is so much for kids and teenagers. They do not have a cafe, but do have a nice gift shop

This place was alright. Not as cool as I had hoped. The aquarium area was neat with the fish. The space zone was pretty big , but it was the same thing- there were like 20 of the space game. The upstairs had a pretty neat giant globe and they explain all the planets which was cool. But i did, honestly think thst the price of admission was too high for what you got. My 9 year old was satisfied with the visit, so if you have kids that age it is geared alot towards that age

Awesome place to visit with kids. The 3D shows are great along with the live animal talk. The stingray exhibition was fantastic as well. Well worth the Money. You can easily spend a few hours here! Make sure you bring quarters to feed the turtles and the koi fish in the back pond!

Our kids (the oldest is 8) enjoyed the hands-on room. The touch tank was also a favorite, but is small compared to others we have experienced. The entire place needs a refresh (paint, signage, and several exhibits). The virtual reality exhibit is only open a few times a day. There were exhibits that had no real explanation at all. Everyone there was polite and helpful as needed. Our in-laws got in for free with a reciprocal membership from another museum. We drove up from Marco Island; I can’t honestly say that it was worth the trip.

This place had so much for my children to do it was incredible! My kids are almost 8 and 10 and I thought they would be bored... Boy was I ever wrong!! We for there around 2pm and I was almost dragging them out around 430 because I was hungry! They had a lot to do there and the energy spot seemed to be the favorite of all of us. They even do military discounts and they let our party of five in free because of a special promotion they had for military!

The exhibits were fun and interactive!!! The girls really enjoyed their animal show and flying a spaceship!!! This place is really for children under the age of 10. Half the attractions were either inoperative or being updated/created. The place did have a couple daycare/camp groups which made viewing some of the attractions a little difficult at times due to the large crowd, but they do move on quickly enough. When the stuff did work, it was an ok experience. My 4 year old loved it.

Its a well designed childrens museum. If you are traveling on the ASTC reciprocity, it is worth noting it is a small aquarium (one room) and otherwise has a room dedicated to Floridas history otherwise, the bulk of the museum has a strong focus on children. Either way, as adults, we enjoyed our time with our children at the museum. I played with the boats in the locks exhibit, I played with balls in the physics space. We would go back:)

Checked this place out with the kids on free museum day. They loved it, more than likely going to pay 100 for the family membership. It has a reciprical program where we can get in free to other participating museums and science center around the US. The was enough to do to keep the kids entertained for about 3 hours without checking out the 3d movies. You can take a picnic lunch or get something there. The whole place is very hands on. My youngest loved all the hands on ball experiments that moved them from one area to the next. My oldest loved the virtual reality glasses. There is even a room for tiny tots. I can see frequenting this place on the wknds or when they have no school to keep the busy and learning at the same time.

Worth a trip. Best ages 6-12yrs would be my guess. We could spend 3-5hrs here easily. Its physically small compared to some other science centers but packs a lot of activities into every corner. There was enough variety to hold everyones attentions (science, history, hands on etc). Kids are already asking to go back.

Unless you are on a field trip or really, really like space, don’t expect much here. The “touch tank” had exactly one animal in it, a ray, and if you attempt to put your hand in the water you will be reprimanded by the touch tank Nazi lady (unless, of course, you are on one of the never-ending field trips). Not much here that is hands-on unless you love space science and with a school. I’m happy this is here for the kids on school trips, but my family will not be returning.

We had a great time. It is a little dated, could use 1 or 2 extra staff, but overall we were happy. Lots to do for kids. The presentation on turtles, snakes and bearded dragons was amazing and the instructor was outstanding (Christian). The aquarium lacked details of all of the fish and eels, but it was nice. They toss a bunch of history in the mix too and offer a ton of hands on activities for everyone. We spent about 90 minutes to 2 hours. Lots of fun. Worth checking out.

Way too expensive for what you get. They should probably divide science and history into two different centers. The history stuff is fine for adults but it is static and doesnt hold the interest of younger children. The gift shop is fairly pricy and filled with useless tokens (I was hoping for actual science toys for my grandson). Anyway, it could be a great place if it were better run.

As an adult born and raised in Florida I was fairly bored but my 8 year old grandson had the greatest time. He got to experience virtual reality for the 1st time. He learned some about old Fort Myers. He spent most of the time in a space flight simulator he really liked that. You could run different scenarios fly to different planets land on the planets drive a rover across the planets. I mag also has salt water aquariums They were quite nice. They have a stingray touch pond. There is a simulation of the caloosahatchee river with the lock system he had fun changing the direction Of the flow of the water through the locks

Much of the equipment is old or run down. I was surprised because of the price of entrance. Two of the three virtual tour stations didn’t work, which seemed a common issue as the tour guide reacted. I have visited other kids science centers in the country and this one did not impress me. I would have preferred spending that money elsewhere with my family if I would have known. I don’t often give reviews, but this I felt people should know before they invest their time and money if they plan to visit.
