I know bridges aren’t all that cool to some but this one is a great one. If you wanna get up and close on the NY side of things you can by walking along the greenway to get under it. At night it’s a great view and during the day it’s still as special. Driving it isn’t that great but hey just spend some time looking at it.

The view of the bridge from hickings trails below it just impressive! It gets a little bit noise when you nearby, but once you are at a distance the view of the bridge with skyscrapers of New York City on the background is like a perfect picture. If have a chance to catch the night view - do it!! You wont regret!

Its better to go during the day before and after rush hours so you can patiently look for parking. We only walked half way as we had our kids with us. It can be very noisy so I would recommend using ear protection but also be careful with the cyclists that are crossing the bridge as well.Lots of great views !

Yea it’s a spectacular bridge, bridging NJ to NY or vice versa, and yes trailers pay crazy money, upwards $125.00 to cross over the bridge, cars $15.00. But once a year, our flag flys, yes slowing traffic, but it’s worth every second of the slow down. Forget the nyc skyline view from the bridge. It’s our 100’ flag flying that makes my heart rate rise.

HUGE traffic backups. Would recommend to take PATH or NJ Transit (PATH is best). Tolls are super high, as someone from California, I did not expect paying $13.75 for crossing a bridge. There, the max toll on a bridge is $6. Overall, great bridge.

Big Ole George Washington Bridge, have been crossing it most of my life. 20yrs ago there were times you could actually get across without much traffic, but those days are gone. Even now with the construction theyre doing is causing delays. It is a great Landmark though. A marvel of iron and steel to connect New York and New Jersey. No toll going south across the bridge, but ya got to pay going North. Hopefully they will finish construction by year 3000 and it will speed it up.

Using the south walkway for my morning exercise was pleasant except having to constantly look behind and in front for bikes and construction activities. The path was clean and an additional fence installed. Although the fence is not appealing, its a necessary security measure for pedestrians. The view is amazing overlooking lower Manhattan and New Jersey. I was able to capture scenic pictures at the beginning of the walkway at either Manhattan New Jersey.

I took an old co-worker to view the bridge from within the park on the NJ side. Beautiful view but I had to pay $5 to enter the park just to take in the view and take a few pictures. While there a white unmarked patrol car made its way to where I was parked to keep an eye on me and my female co-worker. I found it very strange. I stayed for about 10 minutes and watched the patrol person watch my guest and I. I decided to leave the park and pulled out and leave while leaving the white security car also pulled out to follow me. The occupant of the patrol car did not approach me but I think I know why I was the subject for surveillance. Be aware of the patrol working in the park they are discriminate and will following you based on the color of your skin so be alert.

This bridge has 4 levels and is backed up almost 24/7 and costs over 10 dollars to cross. However, during COVID lockdown, as you can see not a single vehicle is on the bridge. That will never happen again as long as that bridge is standing.

Wow, the GW is the most unpleasant way to enter or pass through nyc. Every night theres construction or an accident or both, and every day theres just unrelenting traffic. Add in the horrible road conditions, its pretty much the worst way to cross the Hudson. Unfortunately its a necessary evil for so many of us.

Known from the story as The Great Grey Bridge the George Washington bridge spans the river and states of NY and NJ. The bridge is an interesting open lattice design and has elegant draped suspension span. Very similar to its more famous west coast cousin. Well worth a visit. You can bike or walk over the bridge if you want to look. It is accessible from The Greenway.

The George Washington Bridge is a double-decked suspension bridge spanning the Hudson River, connecting the New York City borough of Manhattan with the New Jersey borough of Fort Lee. The bridge is named after George Washington, the first president of the United States. The George Washington Bridge is the worlds busiest motor vehicle bridge, carrying over 103 million vehicles per year in 2016.It is owned by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, a bi-state government agency that operates infrastructure in the Port of New York and New Jersey. The George Washington Bridge is also informally known as the GW Bridge, the GWB, the GW, or the George, and was known as the Fort Lee Bridge or Hudson River Bridge during construction.

The Washington Bridge is a 2,375-foot (724 m)-long arch bridge over the Harlem River in New York City between the boroughs of Manhattan and the Bronx. The span, opened in 1888, connects 181st Street and Amsterdam Avenue in Washington Heights, Manhattan, with University Avenue in Morris Heights, Bronx. It carries six lanes of traffic, as well as sidewalks on both sides. Ramps at either end of the bridge connect to the Trans-Manhattan Expressway and the Cross-Bronx Expressway. The bridge is operated and maintained by the New York City Department of Transportation. It once carried U.S. Route 1, which now travels over the Alexander Hamilton Bridge.

The bridge and side view of the bridge is so beautiful. It is long bridge and the linked New Jersey and New York city each other. There are two levels of the bridge, the upper level and the lowar level. Both the level are two ways. From the bridge you can see the beautiful buildings of New York city and hills of the New Jersey. And last but not the least, you can see the crystal clear water of the Hudson river...

This is a truly beautiful suspension bridge between New Jersey and Manhattan. When it was built it was the longest suspension bridge in the world almost doubling the previous record-holder. It has eight Lanes of traffic on its Upper Deck and six Lanes of traffic on its Lower Deck. It Carries more traffic every year then any other bridge in the world. Over 1 million cars and trucks every year

The view of the GWB is fantastic on holidays. The lights are festive. On extremely cold days, you may see ice floating down the river. If you are looking for a nice jog, I’d recommend a there and back again to New Jersey via the GWB. However, if your plan is to drive across, be prepared for delays and a hefty toll! Enjoy!
