I have been a member for a year now so i decided to leave a review before my renewal. Overall I am really happy with the service and the vessels. My favorite is the scout. It has everything I need from fishing to cruising. Not to mention it is easy to drive... I only had a problem once what I would like to mention but they took care of the issue and I was able to get out on the water with a different boat. (I think the scout was under maintenance) There are multiple locations. I am a platinum member and Ive never had a problem renting on the weekends. I even met with the owner many times and I like to see that they are providing excellent customer service to everyone. I am definitely staying for another year. Highly recommending them! Sea ya on the water!

The Best Boat Club in Fort Lauderdale. They have the best locations and offering a wide variety of vessels to rent. There are options for becoming a Boat Club member. Also they provide trainings for new and experienced Boaters to make them feel comfortable operating a powerboat. The customer service is A++. Highly recommended place for all your boating needs!!

These guys are the best! The boats are in excellent shape and the customer service makes the whole experience even better. David was courteous and super helpful. I shopped around for hours and went with these guys because of their great reviews. I was happy to see the great reviews are true. Prices are better than most!

Great training with Juan to get the certification, good knowledge and experience on the boat, definitely will look to look at the rental options to earn my hours and do the next certification, I really recommend the training for anyone non experienced and experienced I was amazed there is no minimum training or requirement to be driving safely a boat; I do now have more confidence to get on a boat, Thanks Juan and Best Boat Club

Called for some information and spoke with Chris. He was knowledgeable and friendly. He answered all questions and was very patient and informative. So much so that I took a ride to meet him and check out their fleet. They also provide training courses and he explained that program to me. Based on Chris, the fleet, and the reviews, my next step is to join!

After a long 3 months of quarantine, we were so ready to get out and enjoy a beautiful day on the water. Best boat club and rentals is by far the best club we have ever experienced (and we’re Fort Lauderdale locals that have been renting for 20+years). From their gorgeous fleet of boats, to their impeccable service provided by the guys(The two David’s and Pete) and to the amazing owner Mate D. that has the best customer service I have ever seen. We love when an owner takes pride in his company and cares about his customers. I know we will never go anywhere else from now on. Basically never rent from a holiday inn when you can pay the same or less for the Ritz Carlton. Thank you best boat club and rentals for an amazing day and a memorable one for our family! ️

Today was my first day taking a boat out as a member. The boat I reserved was clean and waiting for me when I got to the dock. We had a beautiful cruise for lunch and then came back. As a first time boater Mate the owner made it a very easy and enjoyable experience even connecting my phone to the Bluetooth stereo before we left. They have great availability, when we got back to the dock we reserved the same boat again for next week. The prices are great and they are very personal. I shopped two other boat clubs and felt like I was signing up for TV service or joining a timeshare, they both had many hidden fees. I highly recommend Best Boat Club to anyone thinking about joining a boat club, or even buying a boat

We ended up renting the pontoon boat. At first I did not like it but at the end I got to love it!!These guys are awesome all around great experience. Boat was clean and ran great. They had a wide range of options to choose from. Mate and the crew were a pleasure to deal with. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

We have been club members for about 8 years. Wife loves the low cost compared to owning a boat. Never have a problem getting a boat & the flexibility of getting a center console today for fishing & a deck boat next weekend for hanging out at sandbar is fantastic. The boats can go out as rentals for non-members, so sometimes there can be temporary “cosmetic issues” (radio might be broken, chart plotter broken) BUT in 8 years we’ve NEVER had an engine problem or safety issue. For those that have owned a boat - you know there is always some small thing that needs fixed lol. The other issues are always easy to overcome by bringing a Bluetooth speaker & nav app on your phone (just in case). The customer service has always been remarkable & the team helps makes every outing stress free & fun!

The people were pleasant and helpful. There was an issue with the boat we were to use and the reached the day before to gives us a different more expensive boat at the original price. I would recommend them.

The level of service provided at Best Boat was incredible. Ernest and his team took the time to make sure we knew where to go to see the sights and have a good time. I was able to pick up and drop off my family directly from the dock at our hotel on Lake Mayan, so convenient! We enjoyed the views along the New River, and beaching the boat at Whiskey Creek Park for some exploring and swim time. Our boat was a clean 24 / 200hp, new model deck boat that suited our needs perfectly. They even provided us with a large cooler with ice for our snacks and beverages. I look forward to seeing the guys when we return next year. Thanks so much for helping to make our trip memorable!

Best place in town. Most amazing customer service. They helped us unload our car and helped us again when we were packing up, getting our belongings into our car. Ernest, general manager went above and beyond in tending to our families needs as we wanted to inter tube etc. He suited us up with the best boat and captain, Ernie, and was their to greet us after our excursion to insure our complete satisfaction. Also there is a store next door that has snacks, food and drink, wine, liquor, sunscreen, etc. if you need extra supplies for your trip! Ernest and Nick totally rock it at the BBC. We were there only for some day rentals on bikes, but they couldnt have been any nicer. The bikes were new and great and more than fairly priced. They spent the time telling us about the best places to ride, to get pizza, beers, people watch, beach it . . . And much much more. Rented a boat on very short notice. I’m a local and am contemplating buying or joining boat club. The level of service was over the top good... like unbelievably good. I just want to say that the best boat club is awesome here is why. Because I reserved a boat a day before and all boats were booked. I spoke to the owner Mate and I told him my situation and then aske me to give him a few mins. This is exactly how help me out. I’m coming down from New York City on a vacation because I want to surprise my girlfriend of two years with a very special surprise. I told the owner mate that I wanted to propose to her on the ocean. So he told me that he will make some arrangements so I can make that happen 30 minutes passed he called me back he tells me that he is going to hooks me up with a boat a Captain. They took me and my girlfriend out to the middle of the ocean around dusk just on time to see the sun go down Believe me when I tell you this that sky was amazingly beautiful. I proposed to her at that perfect moment. The face that she put made me fall In love with her again. I just want to thank best boat club on making this memorable moment so special for her and I.To the owner Mate. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience. I don’t think anybody would go the extra mile to make it a memorable moment in somebody’s life. You are a true gentleman you will definitely see me again. Called 3 different times spoke with 3 different people! I requested information about boat rentals. Zero follow up! Each time I called they could tell me who I spoke with and what the call log said but never received an email or follow up as requested! Definitely not the best customer experience! Booked with another company for the dates I needed!

Becoming a club member was a great decision. Now I can go boating or sailing whenever I want without any hassle. All the guys at Best Boat Club are great. Very friendly and always professional. The boats are in excellent condition. Have taken them many times and never had a single problem.

We rented a 21 foot dual console today. These guys are great! Clean boat, well maintained. They did a good job telling us where to go, not go, eat, swim etc.. We will be back. Highly recommended!

Doesnt get much better! Ernest and Matt helped set up the reservation. Jesse took care of us at Hyatt Pier 66. Over Easter break, we took a 24 ft deck boat that was like brand new for a full day. Went to Haulover Sandbar in North Miami which was really nice. This is a great experience, and this company is great to deal with.Thanks for a great day!

I have been reading these comments and I dont know who all these people are dealing with, but my experience was awesome. My husband and I rented a 24 deck boat this past weekend from Best Boat Club in Fort Lauderdale and the customer service was GREAT! Derrick was very informative and polite, he had the staff help us load the boat up and when we got back they helped us again. We highly recommend this place and WILL be back! 5 STARS*****

This was my 2nd time renting from Best Boat Club, Pompano Beach location, and this experience was just as good as the first time. They are very helpful, accommodating and friendly. I am an ex-boat owner, I know boats, and both of the different boats that I rented were well maintained, fully outfitted (safety gear, communications, etc.) and 100% functional. Ill be back.

Highly recommend renting from these gentlemen. I came down from Boston to celebrate the 4th of July with some friends in Fort Lauderdale and they made the holiday even more enjoyable. Everything from reserving the boat, getting out on the water and getting home safely was seemless. I reserved the boat with Ernest, Juan captained our boat and Jimmy was a great deck hand. I will definitely be a repeat customer. Looking forward to setting sail again with these guys soon!

Nice guys, Jimmy was very cool (he is the owner he was there) and the staff were friendly. Boats were in fine shape overall. We literally just dropped it off when we were done, far easier than owning a boat.

Very smooth process in renting the boat, but the Boat was not new and the inside had a smell. Also, the sunroof did not open.

If Brennan Robertson is still affiliated with this company, I would stay clear of doing any kind of business with them. I have first hand experienced his shadiness and bait and switch tactics at another business he is/was employed at (RVs). What a racket these people have ..... obviously they only worry about getting customers the first time around as no one goes back after they get ripped off.

This is my 60th birthday. My wish was to rent a boat in Ft Lauderdale but I also needed a captain. A week ago, I called Best Boat Club and Rentals in Ft Lauderdale. It must have been my lucky day. I spoke with Earnest on the phone. He was so sweet and friendly and helpful. He organized the whole charter just for me. He kept me informed throughout the week. He arranged with a wonderful captain Chip who knew every millionaires house on the Intracoastal. This was Earnests day off but he made sure I was welcome and taken care of. Captain Chip, Earnest, Juan and Jake are the very best. I highly recommend any charter with these wonderful guys.

I had both a great experience and a poor experience with Best Boat Club rentals. The great experience came with Derek to sign me up for three hours of very enjoyable and beneficial sailing with Dean, a wonderful instructor.The poor experience was with Brennan whose card says he is the club operations director.When my wife and I showed up the best Boatclub not really sure what to expect, Derek persuaded us to take a minimum three hour rental with one of his instructors. He arranged for us to meet Dean the following morning at 9 AM for three hours of sailing which I understand is the minimum amount of time we can take out a boat. Dean was to check out my sailing abilities and also to give me some instructionThe time spent with Dean and the boat was wonderful. Hes a very good instructor with a friendly and informative and challenging attitude the kind that makes you want to learn more and try your best. He was also complementary and told me he would be happy to endorse me to take out their J80 sailboats in the future without supervision provided that it was not heavy weather.I gave Dean what I thought was a generous tip as Derek had suggested. And then went back to Best boat club to settle up for the bill. There my wife and I met Brennan Robertson he was extremely unhappy discourteous and disgruntled. We came to pay her $300 for three hours of sailing and he informed us in a rude way that we also had to pay additional for the instructor. Derek who signed us up however I had not said anything about paying the instructor we understood the best Boatclub was booking the instructor.Derek made it out that the only pay the instructor was going to get was the tip we gave him and asked were we satisfied with that. For me $300 was already over budget plus the generous tip, and I was not planning on paying an additional $75, especially since I had been told that my cost would be $300.Brennan could have simply paid the instructor himself has any good businessman would do, absorbing the cost without complaint. Had we not booked the boat, as well as Dean, the boat probably wouldve sat idly like the other two sailboats, and perhaps Dean would not have been employed either. Best Boatclub stood to make a good profit from my use of the boat and could easily have covered what they claimed was their salary for Deans instruction.

In his words, and I agree, I wish there could be 20 Jimis working there.After having a worthwhile conversation, apologizing, and refunding my rental fee, I sincerely will give Best Boat Club & Rentals another shot during my next trip to Fort Lauderdale.As in my original post, the boat and sailing were great, it was the lackluster customer service I was displeased with and I believe the owner will continue to try to improve based on his response.ORIGINAL POST: 1 STAR - AUGUST 31ST, 20151) The other negative reviews are right; their process & customer service are terrible.2) They are wildly overpriced for their sailboats, followed by extortion3) I tried three times to contact a manager/owner before writing this reviewI called a month in advance and spoke with Jeffery about renting a sailboat. He returned my call and told me I could call back the week of my arrival to schedule a checkout ride with a skipper ($50, and an uncommon practice in my experience) and an 8 hour rental would be ~$350. When I arrived I called back and was told no skipper would be available during my free time. When I asked if I could contact the skipper directly to find a time, I was told they did not want to talk to me. Eventually we could schedule a time.After the checkout ride with Dean, a sailing instructor, who was pleasant and informative, but wanted a bigger tip, I was told I could rent the boat for ~$550 for 6 hours. After some more back and forth we agreed on 6 hours for $350 (still very high in my experience, especially for such a simple boat, a J80).When we arrived the morning of the rental, the dock employee was kind enough to let us borrow a cooler for our lunch & drinks. The gas can was nearly empty, so he went to the nearby marina to fill it, and we were underway after about a half hour delay. I asked if there would be flexibility in the return time because of the delay, and said he was not worried about it.We returned slightly after our scheduled return time and after we returned the boat in its same condition the same dock employee explained we would have a $150+tax late fee if we wanted to pay by credit card on the paperwork, and that this fee could be reduced if we paid cash off the record. Unfortunately, I was with tired friends whom I did not want to embarrass with what I wanted to tell the kid. We gave him $40 and left.The sailing was awesome!

Awesome clean boat with very nice crew!

The chain on one of the bikes we rented kept coming off multiple times. We tried to get even just a partial refund for the inconvenience and they gave us nothing.
