They are in the middle of remolding they have the softball fields disk golf tennis courts and play grounds great place for family gatherings and picnics.... Their hoping to open it back up for camping soon

I go for the disc golf. Fun course with a good variety of shots.

Insane that the fields have to be reserved in order for the kids that PLAY FOR FLORENCE to go out there and practice. I called and spoke with David Dolan, he stated that he would NOT allow me to reserve an AVAILABLE field for my two kids who both play on the Florence baseball/softball team.... That’s literally insane! Months ago, we didn’t know anything about it having to be reserved, yet we were the only ones out there practicing every day on EMPTY fields. Something needs to be done about that. BOTH my kids have won first place in EVERY sport they have played through Florence. Florence Sports generate a lot of money through my family. And we can’t go on the field to practice? They literally play every sport there is to offer. But I will definitely consider having my children play for a different city like a few other parents I know have their kids doing. I’m am really disappointed in the phone call I just had with David and other staff members.

Veterans park has everything you need to enjoy your day from the river to the woods to perfect pavilions, tennis courts and more

The memorial walls and military artifacts allow you to see history up close. Veterans once touched these relics and may have used it in combat. Let us not forget.

This park is a fantastic area to spend an evening with your family. Mine rented a pavilion and had a grillout in Memorial Day 2018. The Veterans Museum at the park entrance is great as well. The gentleman I had the pleasure of meeting there was very knowledgeable and willing to share and listen to stories. I only wish the camping areas could be opened back up.

Very nice park, several war relics here and also a great memorial for fallen veterans from WW 1, to Vietnam that were from Lauderdale County. Also has nice camping areas.

Rating this for the disc golf course. This is a fun course with a variety of challenges for each hole. Hills, woods, narrow and wide open holes. I recommend going with someone who knows the course for your first trip--it can be tricky finding the next hole.

One of first 100 disc golf courses in US grass is always cut well and rest of course is maintained by Shoals Frisbee Club

If you have not tried their disk golf course I highly recommend going!
