A lot different than any other state parks. Its really as a museum and Susan there was an awesome guide! She really knows her stuff and to learn about a crazy shootout that happened in Florence by law enforcement. Wow! It does not take a long time to go through this place because its pretty small but definitely worth stopping by.

Murphys Romance (1985) movie location. This is the tree planted in the place of a parking meter. James Garner refused to pay the meter, got parking tickets, and offered to plant a tree in its place. This is the actual tree they planted for the movie. Sally Fields and James Garner.

If you take a moment to fill out a survey they will give you a 1 day park pass which made it worth it. Other than that, pretty basic info on the area and very helpful staff.

The old 1874 courtroom is a gem but never used in a Western movie. Fun museum with lots of AZ legal history. The long veranda is beautiful. Check out the tavern mirror bullit hole from an argument. G. Dybwad.

Great history lesson from the 6th oldest town in Arizona. Employee was knowledgeable and personable. Well worth the stop. While there, roam the back streets and read all the historical signs in front of all the homes. Town is rich in historical significance.

Very knowledgeable park staff. Fun to learn history here. We learned that much of this building is original. Ask for a mini tour and building description. Ask about the bullet hole in the large mirror. Thank you, Senator McFarland, for authoring the G.I. Bill!
