There are many better pics on here, really just wanted to give advise. If youre looking for decent 4 mile hike/walk the moody loop is nice. To get the best of the trail stick to the right and hike to the bridge. After the bridge the trail is meh. Not a whole lot of shade or views. Saw a squirrel.

Its amazing to me that this might be considered a hidden gem of FLG. Its had a unique history from 1000 years ago through modern times. Its a stunning place and the trails are inviting and easygoing. The Rio De Flag flows year-round through here. Check it out and support City of Flagstaff Parks!

Ok, so we were recommended this by a park ranger at Wupatki National Park and our expectations overcame the experience. But all in all a really cool place to visit right within city limits! No bathrooms on site so come prepared. The hike is nice and leveled until you reach the waterfall, for the best angle and to see some pictographs on the rocks, it does take a bit of an adventurous spirit to find a path to climb lower. But worth the heart pounding climb. And the trail goes on for miles along the stream and even further.

The initial smell was odd as its next to a water treatment plant, but it was a nice little hike to a beautiful waterfall. Saw some cute critters too.

Very family friendly hiking path that loops just under 4 miles. Markers with some fun and interesting information help ensure you see everything along the way. The petroglyphs were so well preserved, and the waterfall was a refreshing pick-me-up.

If you want to do some serious elevation on your hike, this is not the hike for you. If you want to hike 1 to 6 miles through pines, cross or walk by a stream and a waterfall and see some petroglyphs with a little bit of elevation, then this might be just the ticket for you. Also dog friendly so please leash your pup as there were many families close to the trail head with their 4 legged family members.

Excellent trail, very easy and friendly for all ages and species. Spots of the trail are immensely beautiful, such as the waterfall and felled trees that litter the area. Even spotted an elk rummaging the forest. Additionally there are drawings from indigenous people’s that lived in the area around a thousand years ago.

The Tom Moody loop trail is a nice walk in the woods. 2.8 miles. Not much elevation gain, and gentle grades. Easy walking except for a stretch of deep black sand. The petroglyphs are worth a look. And the waterfall is a nice surprise and a good spot to stop for a break.

It was so good to walk around. The area is really big and quiet. It needs to put more signs in the trail as it could confuse the trailer easily. The place was nice for those who want to stay away from crowds. Be careful when you bring young kids here as it could be dangerous if they play near the cliff.

The scenery was beautiful. The waterfalls were nice, petroglyphs were Beautiful. The only complaint my husband and I had was the trail was poorly marked. We were first time hikers got lost twice. Not sure of where we were going. Would really like to know how far it was up and back. The only thing I can find is 2.5 miles and I think thats one way not sure.

A really lovely loop hike. Once you get past the odd smell of the water treatment plant, its quite nice. Ive done this Trail a few times over several years, and the first couple of times I ended up kind of lost or on other trails. The last time I did this Trail, only about two weeks ago, it seemed they had better Trail markers. For a hike in town, I would highly recommend it.

Very nice hike, not very demanding with a small Waterfall in the Tom Moody loop at the end (taking the loop clockwise) and some hieroglyphics at about 2/3. Small parking lot. Pay attention to the orange signs worth arrows to indicate the path. About 1/3 of the trail does not have tree shade, so early morning and late afternoon worked better for me.

Awesome place to hike. Its more of a walk with some inclines. Im completely out of shape and enjoy coming here often. I take the shorter route which I believe its about 2.5 miles round trip. Once you get past the smell of the water treatment plant its a peaceful place. Be sure to use the map at the beginning of the trail to see all the petroglyphs and the waterfall.

I totally loved the hike but would have appreciated more detailed signs on the trails. The one sign we finally did find in the middle of our hike had the trails pictured but there was no You are here spot, so we had no idea which trail we were on. We were kind of lost and wanted to find the petroglyphs and waterfalls. We stumbled on two sites merely by accident. Also, Google maps had us start the trail in a weird location. Again, the sign was so small we almost missed it, and it had no info at all. A detailed map would have been great!

The walk here is very peaceful, and the waterfall is pretty impressive. For people saying the waterfall is hard to find, go on the east side of the creek and then follow the trail north. When you hear water off to your left, walk that way until you see the cliff edge overlooking the waterfall.

Great hike through a canyon filled with petroglyphs. There is no real trail, so you have to explore to find the petroglyphs, and pottery shards. Eventually the canyon levels out to a stream and you reach a bridge. Keep going past the bridge and follow the stream on the left hand side a ways to find rocky areas with more petroglyphs. Please be respectful of petroglyphs and other cultural resources.
